5 So the AC works now but the gas is low. I spoke to someone who advised I empty the gas and replace with a new one but someone also said I should just top up. It’s very confusing.

OP be very careful what you do.

The six month period is not rent free.

During that period you are expected to keep looking for a place but equally expected to pay you rent. No court or law will allow you live in a house free of charge.

IF you refuse to pay the landlord reserve the right to acquire you property in lieu of the rent.
