The Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to review the salaries of the members of the legislature and ministers by cutting it by half so as to create more jobs for unemployed Nigerians.

He made this statement on Sunday, February 11, 2018 while arguing that reducing the salaries of these public officials will create avenues to provide jobs for the teeming population.

A cancer expert at the University College Hospital, Dr Olayinka Ademola had said that the hospital recorded over 400 breast cancer cases in the year 2016, even as the hospital announced free breast and prostate cancer test for its staff starting from February.

Dr Ademola, who spoke at a media briefing to herald the hospital’s 2018 World Cancer Day, said that at least 50 breast cancer patients are attended to every week at the hospital’s surgical outpatient department.

No fewer than two children have allegedly died and 82 others hospitalised following an outbreak of diarrhoea with vomiting in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

A 500 level applied Geophysics student of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Tunji Agboola, has reportedly lost his life when he slumped and died while playing football in his lodge.

The Police on Wednesday arraigned a Junior Secondary School III pupil in a Wuse Zone 2 Magistrates’ Court, Abuja over the alleged kidnap of eight-year-old Innocent Sani, his cousin.

The prosecutor, Mr Kufreabasi Ebong, alleged that the defendant kidnapped Sani, his cousin on Dec. 18, 2017.

The prosecutor said that the defendant, 18-year-old Ebenezer Istifanus, demanded N40m ransom, but was paid N160,000.
