Why are these men so shameless The same Dokpesi that castigated president Buhari using his media outfit, AIT? |
TippyTop:So who announced Jonah winner in 2011 ![]() |
Did i just hear PDP's unofficial spokesman say "No tribunal can sack a governor and install another?" Really Is this assertion based on ignorance or pain Or you don't like the word sack?Sack or remove as applicable to election matters is a right of any tribunal. The case of Taraba is just an expression of that right that every tribunal has. Simple explanation: the PDP didn't conduct primaries, the 'outgoing' governor just 'sacked' by the tribunal didn't pass through a primary election hence the party had no candidate. The candidate with the second highest number of votes cast is the winner of the election. PDP actually shot themselves by not conducting primaries in Taraba. |
TonyeBarcanista:Barcanista please try to be objective for once. For God sakes there was no PDP primaries in Taraba state, and you of all people should know that is one of the conditions prescribed by the electoral act. As painful as it is, your party PDP gave APC a fully loaded gun, and APC just used it. The judge couldn't have rulled the case otherwise. It's a simple opportunity that APC cashed in on. I know you will soon come up with a long 'biased' and untruthful epistle about this judgement. We are waiting. |
Firefire:From your statement it is clear that you know little about Benue. Akume has nothing to show as achievements when he was governor ![]() I was in Benue during Akume's time in office, i was in Benue during Suswam's time and i am still in Benue right now. As a resident of Benue i have enough facts to counter your claim. Firstly I'm not holding brief for Akume but when someone says something that is wrong that i have knowledge of, i will address it. So let's get started. 1. You can never compare Akume and Suswam's government. For those who don't know Suswam is the immediate outgoing governor whose government is the definition of failure and corruption. 2. Akume established the Tomato blending plant in Wanune, but Suswan came and told us the equipments there were substandard because he was fighting with Akume. He said he will setup something better. That was the death of the factory. 3. The College of Health Sciences and the Teaching hospital of the Benue State University were projects conceived and executed by the Akume administration. Suswam then completed the teaching hospital. I want to believe you know the jobs that these projects created. 4. Akume opened streets (road construction) in Makurdi and other parts of the state. Suswam continued with this projct with monies already allocated to it. 5. Akume built General hospitals across the local governments of the state. 6. Akume built the owner occupier housing estate along Abu King Shuluwa road, a housing scheme that gave civil servants in the state the opportunity of owning houses on owner occupier base. Some of these civil servants wouldn't have owned their own house. The estate was built in an area that was considered 'bushy and outskirt of town'. Today that estate apart from giving the subscribers to the scheme their own houses, it also brought development to the area. You need to see the kind of properties that are being built there. 7. Akume had a working water supply project that brought pipe borne water to Makurdi. In fact during Akume's time i was bathing with Shower in my house. Suswam pulled out the pipes when his fight with Akume started, telling us they were rusted with the promise of connecting new pipes. But that was the end of pipe borne water in Makurdi. 8..Akume built Judges Quarters, a housing estate for judges. Judges quarters has become the unofficial GRA in Makurdi, the state capital. After the building of Judges quarters and allocation to judges in Benue, some of the remaining lands were then sold to private individuals who built houses there. Akume himself has his house there, even the current governor Samuel Ortom lives there, i am also planning on relocating to Judges quarters. 9. Akume built Kwararafa quarters housing project which was transfered to civil servants on owner occupier base. I have an uncle that benefitted from this scheme and today he still owns that house. These are some of the achievements i can remember for now, and they are still very visible enough and verifiable. There is nothing wrong with Akume becoming the senate president. He is fit and qualified. Cheers... |
I have said it before that the problem i have with you Barcanista is that you consider yourself to be too intelligent and knowledgeable but in reality you know very little. Worst of all some people whom i consider to be members of the National Association of Wailers (NAW) consider you as their 'hero'. Very funny!!! Now let's talk about this your beer parlour analysis. You are looking at politics from the face value. Politics is deeper than that. I could not stop laughing when i read your statement "let's teach APC how to play politics". Very funny!!! Are you talking about the same PDP that lost not just the presidential elections but most of the states including my state (Benue) which they lost for the first time? So you think the APC will just fold their hands and allow this plot scale through? Think again! The emergence of Saraki as the senate president and the plan to make Ekweremadu his deputy was hatched in David Mark's house. Now David himself is under serious pressure; over here in Benue we are working on removing him using the tribunal and i tell you the truth the case is hot (David Mark that doesn't usually appear in court for his election cases appeared this time around). And not to talk about the files being compiled against him. David Mark, the chief schemer of the current PDP is very careful. Talking about the 12 "rebel" APC senators, have you heared anything from them? Have you heared a word from Dino Melaye the chief architect of the like mind group I believe you also know he is being kept busy at the court by Smart Adeyemi? Dino and co are not clean and with what is happening with Saraki they have realised that things are hot. Of what use is aligning with the PDP if Saraki goes down You talked about being given head of commitees. Will they accept head of commitees and face corruption charges in court? You should also know that these senators can still align with their party the APC and enjoy the said chairmanship of commitees. Contrary to your assertion, the PDP does not have upper hand, rather the APC does. If Saraki falls the "rebel" senators will fall back to the APC. Somebody said the APC should not give Akume the senate presidency position because in his words, there will be scandals. He said those in Benue know what he is talking about. Well I'm not just in Benue but also a son of the soil and i don't know what he is talking about. Senator George Akume is very fit and qualified to be the senate president, and that is David Mark's nightmare. Once again, Barcanista just relax and watch the power play. God bless Nigeria God bless the APC, Change to Nigeria. |
Bollinger:Are you really sure about what you posted Don't foreigners own properties in the US![]() |
ExInferis:You have a wrong notion about how the music industry in Nigeria works. They don't make money from album sales. Rather they make money from endorsement deals and shows. I believe you know they have been Globacom ambassadors for a while now. Do you know how much they are being paid? What about their performance fees? Yes there are lots of cosmetic lifestyle in Showbiz but i tell you the truth, some of them are making serious money. And people like psquare that understand the 'biz' aspect of Showbiz, are doing very well. I used to live with a comedian friend in Abuja and trust me what that guy earns to make people laugh for a few hours (and sometimes for just 1 hour) is equal to a Bank Manager's monthly salary. And funny enough the guy is still an upcoming comedian. There is money in showbiz. That's the truth! And it's possible for Psquare to be billionaires in Naira. |
Flets:If you understand politics you will not make this comment. Let me tell you something about politics: Every top politician has friends and foes; his friends will go to any extent to supply him funds needed for his elections, also the enemies of his opponent will align with him to ensure he gets the resources he needs. Let's look at a practical example of which i have witnessed. The young guy that contested against David Mark in the 2015 elections in the Benue south senatorial district, Comrade Dan Onjeh is in his early 40s. Onjeh does not have the political might and cash to stand against David Mark in Idoma land, yet he stood galantly against him and his campaign was smoothly funded. How ![]() David Mark because of his greed and style of leadership which has brought nothing meaningful to his people, has lots of enemies even though most of them were scared of him. Some of these guys are very rich but are scared of standing against Mark so when a young man presented himself and dared to fight what others dread, they gave him their support (quietly). Also, the APC leader in Benue state and former minority leader, Senator George Akume has been in major rivalry with David Mark over the control of the state. Although Akume controls more followership and power within the state unlike Mark that had more federal might. In fact Dan Onjeh is regarded as Akume's boy right from the former's time as the president of NANS. Dan Onjeh didn't spend his money rather he made money from the campaigns. I was at the tribunal with him last month for the hearing of his case against Mark, and i can tell you that he is doing fine and that case is not being funded by him. That is how politics works. On the issue of Buhari's wife, know that she has her own business. A man in the status of Buhari with his level of followership will not have problems with sponsoring his kids abroad. There are people that willingly do things for him without him asking. There is a level a man reaches that people fall over themselves just to be associated with him. Pray you get to that level. It's a good place to be. Cheers... |
Nice one young prof. But i think he is 41 not 39 or 37. The news said he was born in 1974; a person born in 74 should be 41 years in 2015. |
dialfa:Have sleepless nights over you Funny!!! I don't spend my whole time on NL, i saw some mentions which i didn't open until now. So don't fool yourself, i can't have sleepness nights over someone like you. And i don't have to read the bible becaue of you before i can know a verse of the bible. The scripture you quoted is of no relevance to this matter. BTW talking with someone like you is a waste of time. |
porka:Implementation since february indeed! On what scale is this implementation? You know, when you can't make a comment without insults it goes to show your level of 'shallowness'. |
drss:And was it implemented under GEJ Enough of this hatred for Buhari. It is not about who initiated what but about who is implementing what. I have nothing personal against Jonathan but if a policy is working under Buhari we should hail it. Simple! |
fotadmowmend:It seems you didn't see Kogi state there! |
dialfa:I've tried ignoring you all these times but on a second thought, a scripture came to my mind where the bible say "answer a fool according to his folly". You just confirmed that you are a compound fool. It's very annoying when fools and block heads who think they are intelligent come on Nairaland to display their folly and idiocy. |
kennyman2000:Contrary to what you think, TIN is free. I got for my company some months back when i needed to open a corporate bank account. Now what FIRS wants to do is to get the details of a company even before it is registered. It will not dicourage any small business owner. Most times people register companies with the CAC without any records with the FIRS because they don't go for their TIN. So instead of the FIRS having to get the list of registered companies from the CAC, this new policy will help them get their own records via the issuance of TIN prior to registration of the prospective business with the CAC. |
natas22:It seems you are too quick to criticise. Didn't you read the part where he said the vacancy will be announced soon? What that means is that the NPF is making arrangements for the commencement of the recruitment exercise. Fruadsters only took advantage of the directive by the president. When the police puts modalities in place, it will then make the official announcement with all the procedures. So just calm down. |
agarawu23:There is nothing wrong in living in luxury; in fact it is permitted by God. There are hard working billionaires that spend millions of dollars on luxury. Where has luxury life landed Bill Gates, Mark Cuban, Larry Elison, Paul Allen, Donald Trump, Aliko Dangote, Mike Adenuga, etc So i don't understand what you mean by "start living a luxury life and see where it land you". These men listed above are the definition of luxury life...spending millions of dollars on Private Jets, Yatchs, houses that they only sleep on one bed, Art, etc. We are not talking of a mere phone that cost less than half a million naira but luxury stuffs that cost millions of dollars. And these men are some of the hardest working people you can find. I think you have a wrong notion about life. Bro. if you can afford any of these phones then go ahead and get it. It's only when you spend on such stuff using the only cash you have that is bad. |
dialfa:Intelligent boy price is what please? You are talking about price not effect? Is price not an effect? What you are saying makes no sense and you should stop the insults. |
dialfa:And you that went to school i can see how very intelligent you are. You should know that there are other depot operators that would be happy to see those ones closed, thereby giving them control in the market. In an open market economy where there are options a clamp down on one company is advantageous to competitors. Nigeria is getting to that level. Imagine the response of Glo, Airtel and Etisalat if MTN losses its license for just 7 days! That's the level the oil sector will get to soon. |
presentley:Kai. You are the most sensible person on this thread. So there was such agreement and it's now this cheap useless media is telling us Nonsense!!! The story appears so unreal. IBB and TY Danjuma funded Buhari's campaign in order to control the oil sector? Nonsense! It's only a depressed TANoid that will believe such stories from a cheap, unrealiable source. |
ARKdiscloser7:Buhari is very much aware. He was the one that asked the sacked DG to handover to the most seniour person in the agency, and that person happens to be Obi. |
texazzpete:Please help me ask him oo. |
Lionsclaw:When Jonathan couldn't take some decisions he was called weak, now president Buhari is taking actions to right the wrong in an agency that lost its pride, focus and purpose yet you are complaining Well, i prefer the 'General' in Buhari that would make him fix what is not right than an unemotional leader that can't take decisions. I voted Buhari and i don't regret my vote. Also, if you are expecting him to fail, trust me you will be disappointed. |
frankyychiji:When the DSS was acting like an extension of the PDP and the said Marylyn its unofficial spokeswoman you didn't see anything wrong. This is the problem with Nigeria: we don't like the truth...Mr president is trying to clean an agency that lost its purpose during the elections and some persons are complaining. I have told your associates that call the president a dullard that their fathers who happen to be so smart are there yet a dullard became president, who then is the real dullard ![]() And wishing the president dead, you've got to be careful because a PDP commissioner in my state (Benue) made a public statement during the electioneering campaigns that Buhari didn't have much time to live, but ironically that same man died a week later and President Buhari is still alive. Be careful what you wish someone. |
Axis313:That punishment is better than sack. Let her stay there and answer sir to her subordinates. Why would a professional be that partisan ![]() |
I really don't understand all these "cheap" and "fake" Media houses (including Newspapers and Blogs) looking for patronage and readership by delivering crap as news. Are there no laws in Journalism? |
lilprinze:It is this attitude that gave PDP the go-ahead to cage this nation for the past 16 years, but thank God for wise Nigerians that stood their ground despite the intimidations of TANoids. We all know the massive corruption that has been on in the country, now that details are coming out you and other TANoids call it Propaganda. I guess you read the article and saw Akwa Ibom state governor as a member of the commitee formed by the National Economic Council. Is the Akwa Ibom state governor also part of the propaganda His he an APC governor![]() It's high time we kept sentiments aside and allow things to work. The fact remains that the four towers at the NNPC are "Towers of Mass Stealing and Corruption. |
Shittaakeem:Very rubbish thread indeed! |
Rexology:We are still saying the same thing: I'm aware that aggrieved members of the APC went to court to challenge the emergence of Ortom as the party's candidate. Jime is heading that and he has a case. But PDP has no case because what happened was a case of substitution of candidate. PDP can't claim APC had no candidate in an election that had a candidate sponsored by the party. It still remains a pre-election matter. That was why Jime went to court even before the elections. PDP would have gone to court before the elections and not tribunal. Just follow the case and see how it goes. I still insist PDP has no case. I just talked about a previous case in 2011 in one of my comments on this thread. Jime has a good case if he has a good legal team. The governorship will still remain with APC. |
Rexology:It is still a pre-election and intra-party matter. You should also know that the party's constitution allows for waiver and consensus candidature. Like i said earlier the only way the PDP has a case is if the APC legal team fails to argue their case well. |
The same Dokpesi that castigated president Buhari using his media outfit, AIT?
