no, they have accepted that subsidy must go, they are only angry that subsidy ends by June 31, but nnpc increased the price already before that time to make alot of money. Which is that corruption we are talking about. Price never change, but you are selling old stock this is subsidised at none subsided rate. Do you understand now?
make una dey use common sense na.I don't like arise TV,but those guys have been very good at bringing informed people for some days now.If the govt say d old pricing should continue, the marketers are going to simply hoard PMS and artificial scarcity nd uncontrollable price hike is going to follow.

Why would local functioning refineries make products expensive than imported products
They would buy crude at international market rates, even from NNPC.
With no subsidy for them, they therefore can never sell fuel at anything below this ₦400-₦500 range unless they want to run at a loss, then not having money to maintain the refineries, buy parts and pay salaries, before you know it,they have shut down again.
Please,let's think this true.
Baba ba blabulu made a hasty announcement, but reinstating fuel subsidy will just take us backwards in many, many ways.

Nigerians do you not be fooled. These strikes are being sponsored by the oil marketeers. They are the ones enjoying the subsidy. They get subsidy on imported fuel, and then smuggle the same fuel out to Benin and other West African nations to resell. This way they will be out of business.
The bottom line is there is no more money for subsidy. it's time we kill this thing finally. It will be tough intially but we will overcome as always.

All the NLC & TUC Leadership are ibo people.

Ndigbo have always been enemies if the state.

Anything to move Nigeria forward Ndigbo will rise against it.

Nigerians will never be part of this strike, only ibos can go on strike.

LP is an ibo party. Peter Obi will never say anything cos he is still searching for his stolen mandate

Subsidy is here to stay. NLC is on its own, we the Nigerian masses who doubles as members of this union will not obey the strike. Our common good is at stake, the future of our children and children yet unborn is at stake. No to NLC strike!!! NLC cannot use us to make money because as soon as they are settled in the backroom, they will forget their agitation.
We are fine and we all will be fine in the long run.

The economy and people are already adjusting.I feared a huge increase in transport when he first made the announcement on Monday. By Wednesday transportation fare has stabilized in Benin city. Tfare of #100 is now #150.

They should go on strike. It was expected.

June is holiday month in that case.

At least until end of the month when their members don't get paid. No work no pay. When children doing IGCSE start to shout they will get sense.

Thank God for Zoom and covid 19 tech infrastructure - we advance.

As long as NLC understands it is 'No work, No pay', they are free to strike.

The President said during campaigning that no matter the protest, subsidy must go.

I stand with the President.

Evil that men do. Same APC and Co sabotaged Jonathan's effort on dis subsidy.
Jonathan, madam Ngozi Iweala, Sanusi etc all begged Nigerians to bear with them, that d storm would be over, Nigerians said NO, APC said NO. SO why changing ur tongue on d subsidy.
Subsidy is a very welcomed development, but right now, is not d best time. U didn't factor a lot of things.
No measure was put in place before removing subsidy. Imagine minimum wage of 30k and u do spend 300 TFair, when fuel was being sold at 184-199. Now that d fuel is selling at d rate of 500, how much will d person be spending only on TFair.
Secondly, President should address d nation not from any damn spokesperson.
Well, Nigerians deserves d kind of leaders they get

In a civilized country with intelligent citizens, minimum wage, salary, price of goods and services will be directed to be increased accordingly a month before removal of fuel subsidy. And the only people that will suffer as a result of the removal of fuel subsidy would be the cabals that benefit from it.

Cyberterror:
NLC is currently led by Joe Ajaero, an openly partisan Igbo man who is part of the Peter Obi plot to steal President Bola Tinubu's mandate and he is playing his role by destabilizing the country with planned strike even though all the major contenders in the last election including the party he is supporting, and Nigerians in general have agreed that subsidy is a scam which must go. The DSS warned against people like Ajaero who want to torment trouble and he must be arrested if he insists on the strike. What labour should be talking of now are palliatives not a reversal of the subsidy removal. Joe Ajaero is an enemy of Nigeria who must not be allowed to carry out the hatchet job he is doing for the defeated labour party.
Are you even aware that former president Buhari paid fuel subsidy till June 31st? The fraud here is NNPC selling subsidized fuel at non subsidized rate...subsidy was supposed to end by June 31st,why did it end at May 30th?...Please can you explain why we re buying expensive fuel at this time when it's not yet July?

Friend, covid changed everything. Any reasonable company has protocols for events like this. In my own company, we have baked it into our processes. It's only people doing manual and government ( low incentivized) work that won't work.

Some companies prepared for worse eventualities in February. Which reasonable school does not have a pre prepared online curriculum?

We are ready. Let them strike.

hypocrite but when Jonathan wanted to remove subsidy back then he was an omo ibo and ole karma is a bitch Tinubu must face the conscience of is actions

1. If Mr Jonathan had the will and strength of leadership, he would have stood his ground. He can't blame anybody for being a relatively weak leader.

2. If people did not want something 12 years ago. Does that mean they are bound in perpetuity never to change their minds, even if circumstances change? Was Nigeria spending 5.5 trillion in subsidy in 2011? Btw, I put in on record that I supported subsidy removal in 2011.

3. The people voted for subsidy removal. Mr Tinubu made it abundantly clear several times during his campaign that he would remove subsidy. Yet, people went out and voted for him. That means he has the mandate and consent of the people to remove subsidy. That's democracy.

4. Those who want to protest are free to do so, but they cannot overturn the democratic will of majority of the voting populace.

Subsidy on Petrol is gone for good, no amount of strike or protests can bring it back. When there's political will on anything that thing is achievable.
