bagoma:I'll get myself an E-Book and give it a try. I will give you a review afterwards. You got yourself a deal ![]() Anyway, what exactly is my kind? You intrigue me. |
It's extremely difficult to unlearn bad grammar after puberty. Reading won't help that much either. She needs to socialise in an environment where she only hears grammatically correct english in order not to fall into her hard wired bad English grammar. She should socialise as little as possible with people that speak incorreclty. Vocabulary or pronunciation won't be that much of an issue, training and practice is what is needed. |
Ok, an apparition. Wrong choice of words. |
Jeffrey Archer writes thrillers, good ones at that, but that hardly qualifies his writing as literature. I enjoy reading Archer, Mc Dermid, Cussler and the like, but those stories never stick. Read today, forgotten tomorrow Ouch, made a mistake... I was thinking about Jeffrey Deaver. So forget the above, I haven't read Archer. |
We don't know. Given the sheer vastness of space there are probably aliens out there somewhere, but even if they exist, the chance that we'd be able to contact them (or vice versa) is so small that it's of no use thinking about it. |
goodguy:A vision. You can just as well see Jesus in a vision as Paul did. |
goodguy:Paul has never encountered Jesus. |
Is this a US thing? I haven't seen that level of ingorance here in Europe (plenty of ignorance sure, but nothing so braindead) |
skima:It all depends on what you exactly want to do with your computer. If you're into digital media production, there's nothing that beats a Mac, but they come at a price. You should make a cost-benefit assessment and see if the extra initial cost is justified by your productivity gains. The most important thing that sets Macs apart from Windows PC's (apart from the GUI and the overall ease of use) is colour accuracy (real WYSIWYG for print) and typeface accuracy (also very important for print). If you want to get a printjob done correctly without going through a bunch of colour proofs, get a Mac. |
Ajisafe:You cannot really prove a negative, unless of course you know the properties of God and find contradiction between these properties and the Bible, but in that case, God will be by definition self contradictory. |
vexxy:This doesn't really make sense. you can apply the same logic to call murder both a right and a crime. vexxy:Exactly, but then it depends on what your beliefs are based on. Are they based on hard facts and evidence or are they based on emotion. I do not disqualify emotions in this, but they cannot be the basis for policy, but rather for what you personally are going to do. |
queen2:What you post here is actually very interesting. From studies of the different variants of the HIV virus, it seems that the DNA of the variant mostly found in Africa is sufficiently different from the variant mostly found in the USA and Europe, that they may even come from 2 independent mutations. Anyway, we're far from finding out the exact truth about the origins of HIV |
vexxy:You disappoint me with this reply This is just sloppy reasoning |
What a source, Seun, the Onion. The foremost saterical website in the US. How much more serious can you get ![]() Anyway, natural does not equal good, acceptable or desirable. Infanticide is natural (lions), suidice is natural (lemmings), female dominated primate groups are natural (bonobo's), sex for favors is natural (bonobo's), malaria is natural, the plague is natural, Aids is natural and so is cholera, .... What a bunch of self serving h*rs*sh*t |
goodguy:The only people for whom this is reliable, are the ones that already believe in a near literal interpretation of the Bible. For others, it carries little weight. People may believe in it, but that does not make it reliable. goodguy:It was clearly about his second coming in his apostle's lifetime. I have quoted these passages already in another thread. They speak for themselves, I think. "Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled" Matthew 24:34 (the end times) "And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power." Mark 9:1 |
goodguy:Goodguy, you're continuously referring to the Bible to support what's in the Bible. You need outside sources and other supporting evidence to make it convincing. The second coming was prophecised to happen within the lifetime of some of his disciples.... why hasn't he come yet? |
@elaiho 'kay just thought that you were one of those prophets proclaiming the end times Interesting reading though |
ahoy LT:In Belgium, I spend €60 for a permanent cable connection to the internet (this gives me 10 Mbps down speed, 512 Kbps up speed, 4 IPs, 30 MB volume) there are cheaper product to have a permanent internet connection, but you don't have that many options |
elaiho:Aah... another prophet of the apocalypse Will you use another code when these prophecies fail to be fulfilled? elaiho:The whole site is using some kabbalistic internal code to decipher the hidden meaning of the Torah. Using a base code of 27 characters (the Hebrew alphabet) and some numerical tricks with interpretation of the results, you can prove just about anything. elaiho:If there were a comet heading for earth on that date, we would already know about it. We don't, so don't hold your breath. If a comet were to hit earth, it would be the end of life as we know it and this would mean that: elaiho:Would be useless, as there would be no more human life left. elaiho:This has been done since before the Middle Ages and still they miss the mark .... elaiho:So? Someone with controversial policies such as Rabin was bound to have a lot of enemies elaiho:Again, this numerical mumbo jumbo proves nothing elaiho:I hadn't, but the first glance showed me immediately that kabbalism isn't dead yet. Maybe we should add some Da Vinci Code, some Holy Blood and the Holy Grail, some Name of the Rose, ... Make it a little more modern ![]() |
Scorpio:Wanna see that... you'll bring a camera, won't you? ![]() |
My thread's been hijacked ![]() |
Nothing - company phone. How custom is it in Nigeria to give company phones to employees? |
@ RhodaRose You still didn't explain why you inserted it there. Comparing me with dogs and swine is insulting. |
