blessed indeed: I will advise you focus your love imterest in someone that is not a liability - has a handwork or working n earning money so the financial burden wont rest on you alone. secondly u should know that all fingers are not equal so if u can foot the bill of elaborate wedding without borrowing why dont u consider meeting ur pastor for a very simple wedding which am sure all pastors use to advise members than going into debt.Thank you |
Excelboi: I wont talk much but dont use other people's life and action to judge yours. Dont rush for marriage when you are not financially capable. At early 30 you can still chill till you finish school and get a decent job. Its only ladies that ought to get worried at 30 with no marriage in their agenda. To cut the story short, marriage doesnt have age (for a man) and dont be desperate for it.What a hearty advise! Thanks |
chukwudi44: GEJ privatisation of the power sector alone will rubbish everything Obasanjo achieved throughout his tenureFor your information, it may interest you to know that the process of privatization of power was initiated and started by Obasanjo, but scuttled by the visionless Yar' Adua Administration. Goodluck Jonathan only continued where Obasanjo stopped. The much talk about Niger Delta Power Company, the National Integrated Power project(NIPP), comprising of the ongoing several power stations, the power road map etc, are all the babies of Obasanjo's Administration. Pls take note |
Infact, I am so confused as to the issue of marriage - confused about who to get married to; when to get married; and how to go about getting married. Right now, I am in my early 30s, a 300 level part time student in a University and doing a menial job. But for four JAMB's hurdles since I finished my school cert, I would have for long become a graduate and maybe doing a good job, which would be enough to give me the courage into marriage. But because of my inability to gain admission into a higher institution on time, I lost confidence in going marital affair, even though I had the previlege of going into serious relationship that many had expected or envisaged to climaxed into marriage. Almost all the girls I have been in relationship are now happily married and proud mothers. Also, most of my friends and contemproaries have left me behind as far as marriage is concerned. I am deeply concerned, not because I don't want to get married, but, I AM AFRAID, firstly on how to take care of my wife when I am still schooling, even though am engaged with menial job and doing other hustling now. Secondly, where will I get the money to fund the wedding since what receive from my job and other hustling hardly meet my rent and other needs? Will things not be compounded when we are two? Thirdly, it seems the time I used to love is gone - i.e, I don't easily love(love in the real sense of the word). Right now, I have girl, whom am trying to develop a strong love for, because believe that, love is the only basis for a successful marriage. Now, may I crave your advice, suggestions and scolding(where applicable) in the following puzzles: one, how do I develop a strong love for a woman I think I should marry? Two, will you not consider it better for me to finish my school and get a better job before marrying? Fourthly, do I really need an elaborate wedding, like some of my friends did? At 31(though physically bigger than my age), don't you think am supposed to be married now like my friends, some of whom are my juniors and others, seniors? Is it possible not to have a strong love a girl now, but later develop it for her? What do I do now in this circumstance? Please, advise me. |

Thanks for your view. Yea, Pastor Kezi has been tranfered to take charge of East Africa Region, heaquatered at Nairobi, Kenya. |
Please I need your positions, what could have happened in my church today? To my mind, it was a case of an anointed man of God giving out the word of God. Since I gave my life to Christ, I have never had it so good the way my new Pastor turned me and other worshipers to be in today's Sunday service. Infact, you need to be in the church to witness the flow of the Holy Ghost, which manifested by the word of God, through the preaching by our new Provincial Field Pastor - Pastor David Adeoye. The whole church was charged up by the word of God through His servant. I could not help, but cried like a baby, just as other members, some of who were like they were in another world going by their utterances. Indeed God is in LFC, Kubwa, Abuja. Help me to decode what really happened to me and other members of the church today, pls. |
US forces struck two militant targets in Africa, snatching a top Al-Qaeda suspect from the streets of Tripoli and launching a pre-dawn raid against a Shebab leader’s home in Somalia. Libyan authorities on Sunday demanded an explanation about the “kidnap” of one of the “Libyan citizens” wanted by Washington, which US authorities identified as Abu Anas al-Libi, a long-sought Al-Qaeda operative indicted in the 1998 bombings of US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. A separate raid in the southern Somali port of Barawe Saturday failed to capture the Shebab leader and it was unclear whether he had been killed, but a US official said several members of the Al-Qaeda-linked group had been slain. The raid was reportedly “prompted” by the deadly militant siege on a Nairobi shopping mall last month. The operation in Libya, also Saturday, appeared to be a success. “As the result of a US counterterrorism operation, Abu Anas al-Libi is currently lawfully detained by the US military in a secure location outside of Libya,” Pentagon spokesman George Little said in a statement. A source close to Libi told AFP he was snatched by armed men in Tripoli. Libi, who was on the FBI’s most wanted list with a $5 million reward, was indicted in US federal court in New York for allegedly playing a key role in the east Africa bombings. The attacks left more than 200 people dead. His capture ended a 15-year manhunt for Libi, a key Al-Qaeda operative born under the name Nazih Abdul Hamed Al-Raghie. It also paved the way for Libi, 49, to be brought to the United States to face trial. “We hope that this makes clear that the United States of America will never stop in its effort to hold those accountable who conduct acts of terror,” said Secretary of State John Kerry on Sunday, speaking from the Indonesian island of Bali. The action should also make clear that “those members of Al-Qaeda and other terrorist organizations literally can run, but they can’t hide,” said Kerry, speaking during a break from meetings of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum. The US raid took place in broad daylight with the knowledge of the Libyan government, a US official told CNN. Libyan security services said they were unaware of any kidnapping or arrest of the man. “The Libyan government has been following the reports of the kidnap of one of the Libyan citizens wanted by the authorities in the United States,” read a government statement said. “As soon as it heard the reports, the Libyan government contacted the US authorities to demand an explanation.” Norman Benotman with the Quiliam Foundation, a London-based self-described “counter-extremism think tank,” told CNN that he had direct contact with Libi’s family. “After he was at prayer in the morning, I think 6:00 am local time, on his way back to his home … a special unit there, about ten people in three cars … they were waiting for him and just snatched him within a few seconds, and he even failed to reach his gun,” Benotman told CNN. “An old nightmare hunted him down,” said Benotman. According to the US indictment, Libi and other Al-Qaeda members discussed attacking the US Embassy in Nairobi as early as 1993, and even took pictures of the mission. In 1994, Libi allegedly drew up plans to attack the mission and a building that housed the United States Agency for International Development, as well as British, French and Israeli targets. A US official said the operation in Somalia sought to capture a “high-value” Shebab leader, and that no US personnel were injured or killed. The operation marked the most significant US assault in Somalia since commandos killed key Al-Qaeda operative Saleh Ali Saleh Nabhan in the same area four years ago. It followed an attack by Shebab gunmen last month on the upscale Westgate shopping mall in Nairobi that left 67 people dead during a four-day siege. “US personnel took all necessary precautions to avoid civilian casualties in this operation and disengaged after inflicting some Shebab casualties,” the official said. Declining to identify the people who died, the official said that “even in these extreme operational circumstances, the US military is very cautious to minimize civilian casualties.” Leaders of the Shebab in Barawe, one of the few ports left in the hands of the insurgents, said commandos attacked from the sea and the air, but failed in their attempt to storm a house belonging to a senior commander. The SEAL team approached and fired on the unidentified target’s seaside villa by sea, according to The New York Times. Although the Shebab leader was believed to have been killed during the assault, the SEALs had to withdraw before they could confirm the kill, a senior US official told the newspaper. “The Barawe raid was planned a week and a half ago,” a US security official told the Times. “It was prompted by the Westgate attack.” A senior Somali government official told the newspaper that “the attack was carried out by the American forces and the Somali government was pre-informed about the attack.” Shebab spokesman Abdulaziz Abu Musab told AFP that commandos had stormed the beach by boat, but blamed Britain and Turkey. “The bungled operation was carried out by white people, who came with two small boats from a larger ship out at sea… one Shebab guard was killed, but reinforcements soon came and the foreigners fled,” he said. “Where the foreigners had been, afterwards we saw lots of blood, so maybe we wounded some.” |

OMG! Barely a month when some African immigrants perished in the Sea, at least 130 African migrants have again die and many more are missing as a boat carrying them to Europe sinks off the southern Italian island of Lampedusa. The question I beg to be answered is this: When will some Africans learn lessons from these incessant deaths arisng from their quest to seek new and perhaps better lives in Europe? SOURCE: BBC |

The State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, confirmed the casualty figure. No fewer than 42 people were on Friday drowned in a boat mishap on River Niger close to Malilli Village in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that 100 others on board were missing in the mishap which occurred at about 2 p.m. The Public Relations Officer of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency, Ibrahim Hussaini, confirmed the incident in a telephone interview on Saturday. Mr. Hussaini said the incident occurred around 2 pm when the traders were returning from Malili Village back to Tunga Illo Village across the River Niger, after the day’s market. He said the details were sketchy, but the boat which had over 150 passengers capsized midway and drowned 42 people, while 100 others were missing. The spokesman said that local divers from Malili Village had recovered 42 corpses, while efforts were being intensified to rescue possible survivors or the corpse of those drowned. “At the moment search and rescue is ongoing on the river. “I will make the details of the incident later, but the agency has dispatch its officers to assist the villagers in the rescue efforts,’’ he said. Mr. Hussaini said the recovered corpses would be given mass burial close to the river bank, adding that neighbouring villages had been alerted to look out for floating corpses. The Secretary to the State Government, Saidu Ndako, confirmed the boat mishap. “I received the information late in the night that a boat had capsized and 42 persons have drowned in the incident, while rescue operation is ongoing. “We believe that the boat was overload because the boat’s capacity was put at 60 passengers, but over 150 passengers were said to be on board during the incident. “The debris in the swollen river may also have been responsible for the incident,’’ Mr. Ndako said. The Governor addressed an Igbo socio-cultural group in Lagos. The Lagos State Governor, Thursday, issued an “unreserved apology” to the Igbos following the deportation of about 70 beggars and destitute people to Anambra State. Speaking at an event to mark the Silver Jubilee of Aka Ikenga, an Igbo socio-cultural body, in Lagos, Mr. Fashola stated that he valued his relationship with the Igbos. “I came here to say to say thank you for the honour done to my family and the memory of my late father,” Mr. Fashola, whose father died last month, said. “People who clearly do not understand the actions taken and words spoken are those I owe an explanation. I cannot take the Igbos for granted because we have built a relationship based on tolerance, mutual respect, love and trust. “That relationship was built by our ancestors and I put a lot of value in that relationship,” said the Lagos State governor. “I offer an unreserved apology if the actions taken had been misunderstood,” he added. Mr. Fashola, however, called on Aka Ikenga to help address the issue of people migrating from the South-East to Lagos State. “Is it the case that some lack the resources to develop or perhaps some parts are endowed with enormous resources but not adequately managed?” “How can development be so difficult from the zone that has produced people like Nnamdi Azikiwe, Alex Ekwueme, Ike Nwachukwu, among others? “As political storm gathers, there are contact sports but like in football, contact sports have rules,” said Mr. Fashola. “Those who are victims of our shortcomings as professionals in and out of government should not be pounced. “A day like these calls for deep reflection about issues of our loyalties. Are we more Igbo than Nigeria or we are more Nigeria than Igbo?” he added. On July 24, the Lagos State governor had dumped the evictees, under the cover of darkness, at Upper Iweka, Onitsha, the commercial hub of Anambra State. The action had elicited a heated row between the two states, with Peter Obi, the Anambra State Governor, threatening a reprisal. |
