Hahahahaha I tell u. When I went to America I regretted Sha. Not because I didn't like the country but because I ended up staying in the most unsafe neighborhoods in America (Englewood,in Chicago). There was always a shooting/killing on the streets everyday. When I see/hear our Naija people complaining about crime in Nigeria on social media I laugh because they ain't seen anything yet. In Englewood just by looking at a black male suspiciously on the street can put ur life in danger. There was always a drive-by shooting/murder everyday....

From statistics,Chicago is not the worst city in terms of crime rate in America just that majority of those crimes are concentrated in certain area.

Am not sure in which of the areas you are referring to but in all truth and fairness the US is the most developed country in the world, I mean in every sense.

Vacation is very expensive abroad and Americans save heavily for it yearly.looking at all his scheduled stops and visits,anything short of that budget won't be much fun.

Hi guz. I will be taking a 1week vacation in the westcoast. I wanted to take you all along with me that's why I opened this thread.

America is work work work work till u drop dead. So when u get the chance try to take at least a week vacation . It's very good for the mental well being of one's self.

Places I would visit include.

Grandcanyon AZ
Antelope canyon AZ
Hover dam
Death valley
Hollywood CA
Beach and lots more
Alcatraz in San Francisco

Activities include:
Kayaking, jetski ride , Parasailing etc.

I will try to narrate as I travel so just stay with me for thrills and excitement.

No it’s not available in Nigeria. No one has been issued the 10years validity passport except maybe the president himself. For over two weeks, they have been claiming no booklet.

New 10 years 64 pages is available in Nigeria.dont know about US yet but the cost no be here o.

Having used New York, Atlanta, ikeja and ikoyi, I can say that Atlanta is the best for renewals followed by NY for first time.

Why do many? There are 5 of us in my family and we have different renewal dates

Experience differs so my preference will always be Nigeria.have travelled twice on an expired passport and got it fixed in Lagos.it saves me stress,time and above all money.

Am not sounding pessimistic here but be prepared for the worst.no one can promise you anything now.embassies are short of booklets.
Don't make travel arrangement to Nigeria yet until this is sorted out cos that one day delivery you wished for can easily turn to several weeks.All the best.

At the worst, you'll be processed and it will be mailed to you in a couple of days. Now you know, next time do everything ahead and only show up when he says.

He's a really nice guy. I met him in 2011 back when my daughter died and I needed to go to Nigeria and didn't have valid passport. Embassy was giving me hell and I wandered into his place to make a copy since he was next door. He helped me for free! I've used him ever since.

The general idea is people should not wait till their travel date is near before applying for passport to avoid stories that touch.nobody I mean nobody can guarantee you anything.that it was possible last year doesn't mean it can happen again this year.Am yet to see anyone who got a new Nigeria passport in the US this year not to talk of getting it in a day.Its a common knowledge there have been no passport booklets for some months now even in Nigeria.

Nobody is saying you can't do your passport same day After all that's what your appointment would do for you...paperwork and data capturing but getting it back same day is what I dispute.even the main high commission in NY can't do same day delivery.
Besides,am.sure you agree it cost way much than the normal fees to get that expedited option done.

Most countries outsourced their consular services out for efficiency,may be that could be Nigeria own too.
I remember some years back I used to use VSF GLOBAL services for my UK and others and I guess they still do till date.It is faster and more efficient.
I doubt if Atlanta center can do same day passport renewal.

They do passport and visa, read their website. It's the embassy employees family people, it's the Nigerian government private business in US.

I guess I don't need to give any advice here, Nigerians always think bad and start attacking when is it help.

I guess you are still new on this thread.nobody hates on anybody here.am not by any way disputing your claim,I only responded directly to your post.The process of obtaining a visa is different from passport.A visa can be obtained within a day in virtually all embassies around.

If you go to Atlanta and Nigerian embassy makes you troubles, delay your passport or visa issue, it's their business they want to do on the side. Get out of the embassy and see in front a private agency who does visas and documents, get in, ask them, pay and they will do it fast. I personally got my visa in 1 hour with them after trying half a day in Nigerian embassy and listening to all nonsense.
Edventure Nigeria Passport and Visa just in front of the embassy. It's the way to make money for Nigerian embassy employees.

You are just giving yourself unnecessary headache over nothing.applying for or renewing a passport in US doesn't worth the stress.let me suggest an option though with some risks especially when your trip duration is very short.travel home with your expired passport and I bet you will get it done in Lagos or Abuja with less stress and less money with less time.
That's what I do,I don't Have time for these high commision in the US incompetence.

The Consulate will be closed down on Tuesday and Wednesday and my appointment was rescheduled to Thursday. Now i will have to do a new car rental and hotel. Another flight as delta didnt allow me to change my flight. I will call maybe another agent will help me out

Lol...the system is not the issue but the people running it.i would have just advised you go to DC instead of Atlanta but be prepared for worse case scenario.
Next time always book flights or hotels that offers flexibilities especially when you are dealing with anything that had to do with Nigeria.try to call the hotel customer care,they may change the dates for you since you are not seeking a refund but just a change of dates but be ready for a long call if booked through a third party.Goodluck.

Better buy a good hard envelope in any pharmacy or Post Office, go to USPS and send it as Priority with tracking number and insurance and under signature reception, ask for reception receipt, they will give you a tracking number and you can see online too. Post Office is Federal while UPS is private companies like a franchise. US Post Office is very secure and reliable. Usually domestic mail we all use USPS but sending mail abroad we use UPS or DHL just because our reliable mail system sends mail to other countries mail and in other countries can happen anything to your mail.
USPS in all USA is the best.

Just in the quest to promote your organisation,you completely missed the point.
Most high commisions don't deal with USPS for official transactions.that USPS is the best and safest clearly shows you are economical with the truth.send 5 mails to New York through usps,God help you get 2 delivered safely.

I don't think this has anything to do with visa overstay.in contrast,dropbox is an indication they didn't abuse their visa conditions.

Though I don't buy into this Atiku is not from Nigeria argument but Falana is entirely wrong in this case.
The argument here is that Atiku was born when his village was still under Cameroon and such he was born a Cameroonian and the Nigeria law says only Nigerian born citizens can vie for the president of Nigeria as I understand it.
Those of his wards Falana was talking about could have been born in Nigeria aftermath of referendum and so have the legal right to vote and be voted for as a Nigerian.
Again,no laws say non son of the soil can not vote in an election only that they cannot be voted for as it is practised in other countries.How some of these lawyers got their SAN is still beyond me.
