i don't want to say much than what the sensible ones have said. we should not judge, especially a man of God.
don't fight for God. if he is saying things which God has not said, God can strike him down himself, which one be your own.
if you believe pastor Bakare, good for you, if you don't, good for you.
rather than just put yourself in trouble by getting into the wrath of God, say nothing to it.
except if God has told you too something about Pastor Bakare or Nigeria that you want to share, go ahead. othewise, keep shut!

The good news is that the average Nigerian is very religious but very ungodly so I am not surprised at the type of nonsense people write here and quoting scriptures they don't even understand.

Why even catch criminals? Why judge them? Why don't leave God to judge the armed robber and lets leave them to go ahead and do what they want to do?

GOD'S WORD MUST COME 2 PAST WHETHER HUMANS LIKE IT OR NOT.

HIS WORDS MAY NOT BE IMMEDIATELY BUT WILL SURELY COME

PEOPLE IN THE HOUSE PLS MIND HOW U TALK ABOUT A MAN OF GOD because ONE CAN JUST PLACE CAUSE ON HIMELF OR HERSELF WITH JUST SAYING NONESENSE

AM NOT HIS MEMBER BUT DON'T MOCK TUNDE PLSSSSSSSSSSSSS, ELSE U ARE MOCKING GOD.
AND GOD CANNOT BE MOCKED

Excellent rubbish. OBJ has finished his 8 years in office and is alive today, so educate us on when this important prophecy about OBJ will come to pass.

ufobabe:

I agree with you but again it is plain stupid to believe every one that claims to be a man of God. Go and check your bible about what people will do with the name of God in the last days.

I ask again, is Rev King not a man of God?

@ Afam, if you understand the scriptures as you insinuate, can you tell me what you think about the Jonah case that I wrote about in my earlier reply to this post? Was Jonah a false prophet? Do you really read the bible?(If you are a christian, that is). God specifically told Jonah to go and proclaim and prophecy to Nineveh that the city and all its inhabitants were going to be destroyed. The people *repented*, and God forgave and did not destroy them. Did God not say? in that situation? Did Jonah go to prophecy on his own?
Gods mercy supercedes all and God does not delight in the destruction of men and whoever comes to Him(repents), he will in no wise cast away.
Re: Oh God, Tunde Bakare Again! by ebos(m): 10:44am On Aug 21, 2007
@Salvage
God sent Jonah to Nineveh to warn them that if they didn't change, they would be destroyed. So, they changed and God spared them according to warning Jonah passed unto them. But in this case, Bakare said it clear that OBJ would die in Office. He didn’t say if Obasanjo pray over it that God would spare him. Read your bible well. Even, Sodom and Gomorrah, God said if He could get only one righteous person, He would spare them. But He didn’t get any, so, if God had seen one righteous person in Sodom and Gomorrah they would have been spared. Again Tunde Bakare said IBB or Atiku would be President and no condition attached to his prophecy – that is putting in at as, they might not be President if something like this or that happens. He made it clear to Nigerians that one of them would be President. Now, the same Prophet Tunde came to tell Nigerians that Yaradua is the messiah. So, don’t bring the issue of Jonah here, it is completely different.
Re: Oh God, Tunde Bakare Again! by Egavlas(m): 11:32am On Aug 21, 2007
@ebos, I don't know where in the whole of Jonah, where God said if they don't repent. In Jonah 1 vs 1 the bible records: Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the son of ammitai saying, Arise go to Nineveh, that great city and cry against it(proclaim judgement), for their wickedness is come up before me. From the next verse, Jonah ran a different direction and there was no place that God said to warn them that If they don't repent, so and so will happen. If God wants to say something, He says it.

Now from chapter 3 vs 4, we see Jonah's message: "Yet 40 days and nineveh will be overthrown" There is nothing like "God said repent or else in the message" .

If you read from chapter 4 vs 1, You will see that the whole mercy and the fact that God didnt destroy Nineveh after all, displeased Jonah.
If he specifically heard God tell him to just go and warn Nineveh, he would not have been displeased that God spared them. Now read the whole of chapter 4 and see where God explains to him about His mercy.
There are other prophecies by men of God in the bible that did not come to pass and in the cause of this thread, I will be showing them.
In the issue of Tunde Bakare saying that IBB will be president, please go to their website and if there is anywhere he categorically said IBB will be president, let us know. What I heard him say once was that PDP was preparing IBB to be president. He never said God told him IBB will be president

Also, ebos, God did not say "If He could find one righteous person" in sodom and Gommorah, He would not destroy it.
Abraham was interceding on behalf of sodom and Gommorah and from Genesis chapter 18 from verse 24, Abraham began by asking if God would spare them if he could find 50 righteous people and God said yes that they would be spared.
The dialogue continued and Abraham continued reducing the number untill verse 32 of Genesis 18 when Abraham stopped at Ten people. So Abraham did not go beyond that number ten.
Re: Oh God, Tunde Bakare Again! by ebos(m): 12:33pm On Aug 21, 2007
@Salvage
I didn't want to go into full detail of the stories Sodom and Gomorrah, Nineveh. We all know that it was Abraham that interceded on behalf of the cities and didn't go below 10. However, our bible also stated that no single person was found in Sodom and Gomorrah. Tunde Bakare said it was revealed to him that IBB or Atiku would be President. Nigerian Newspapers carried it and I read it. It is unfortunate that I cannot get a link now because it has been a long time

Yar’Adua, God apppointed President, says Bakare
…Describes Obasanjo as a plague on Nigeria

Curiously, Pastor Tunde Bakare of the Latter Rain Assembly has for the first time in his life acknowledged a Nigerian leader his president. He disclosed this on Sunday during a worship service tagged: Moving from privilege to purpose, in Lagos.

According to Pastor Bakare, “I envision that Nigeria’s baptism has begun, the process as started that he who is going to lead us will serve us. God is going to give us servant leaders who are going to turn down and will reverse the injustices of the past. This one is my president; this is the first time in life that I have ever used that word in my life.”

“This is one is my president, I respect the office and I respect the person I want to bring this message to a close by praying for my president. It is not possible for me to say everything,” Bakare declared.

The pastor said: “He didn’t contest for election, they contested for him, he didn’t look for it, they called him, look at all the reversal he has carried out. VAT reversed, sale of our refineries, withholding of Lagos state local government money released, almost everything the man did to put us in bondage he came and said how should these be done?”

“Why is Lagos State like this? This should be a mega city, it should compete with other cities of the world. What can we do about this. His first visit was not to Kaduna, he has been in Lagos twice, he wanted to get things done, there is more to reverse,” he revealed.
Bakare declared that no political party will dictate to Yar’Adua, adding that, “no BOT will have power over the president of Nigeria, no BOT had power over OBJ, why does he want BOT now?”

He declared that “Nigeria, this is your time of deliverance, PDP proposes God now disposes, they have looked for a man who will cover their back, but this one will expose everybody. When the president’s father was in NPC, the government of the late Sadauna, this young man went and joined Aminu Kano PRP, he just had been like that, it was a set up, they didn’t know.”

The fiery pastor further said: “The former president held Lagos to ransom, the Supreme Court passed judgement, he disregarded it, he respected no one, Yar’Adua came and asked what exactly the problem is and ordered that it be released immediately.”
He explained that, “now, that this man is redressing past injustice, what is happening in the South-South. What can we do for Alamieyeseigha, he did bad but let him go home and recover, take what he has stolen.”

He thereafter asked the church to pray that no corrupt public officer including former President Obasanjo escapes, since they have started now with smaller thieves. He challenged the former president saying: “We know how much you are before you became head of state, you have to give account of how much you are worth now and how you came by it.”

Justifying the election of Yar’Adua, Bakare said, “he came on, more or less a stolen ticket but he will change everything. Do not say he is not born again. Pharaoh was not born again before God began to show him dreams and vision of what is about to happen, Nebuchadnezzar has to declare there is no God like this, therefore God will reveal Himself to him as he makes decision on any issue.

“Whenever God wants to punish a nation, He gives them the likes of OBJ, he was divine punishment first for the church that was totally gullible that embraced an occultist who pretend to be a saint and then for the nation itself that was why I told you in his last days there will be an epitaph upon his administration and what did I call it ‘a poor man who oppresses the poor is like a sweeping rain that leaves no food’.”

“We have had many beast and basest of men rule us but I think we are coming out of the darkness into His light. We are changing now and about to come out of the tunnel to see servant leadership in Nigeria. Do you know he has counseled him not to declare his asset, but he still declared it, do you know his daughter got married to a governor in this country and I didn’t even know until I saw it in newspapers,” Bakare asked.

He instituted a permanent prayer point for the president saying: “I make it a law in this house that at every prayer hour you must begin by praying for President Yar’Adua, saying “God bless Yar’Adua” he is my president not your former president.”

“I do not know the condition of the health of the president today, but I stand between the pot and the altar just as the faith of Moses, parents kept Moses alive when he should have died like others killed by Pharaoh, in the name of Jesus we release our faith in the complete work of Jesus on the cross of Calvary, for the healing, salvation and deliverance of our president,” he blessed the president.

COMMENT:

How do you see the caption or heading from the contents or the context?
My brother, don’t be a free reader that only picks the caption on newspaper without reading the contents. You might likely end-up spreading false news thinking you got it.
My brother, journalists have a way of attracting your attention is called CAPTION. Sometime the heading or the headline will be quite different from the content as you can observe from this write-up. How do I mean? Because, prior to these statements he said thus “I want to make a confession and don’t always think that a confession is for something bad only. Remember this has being our mindset. Now the confession. I have voted only once in my life and that was 1979 election but I was disappointed by the statement made by the then Head-of state Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo that the best candidate might not win, and since then I have fought all the former Head of state because of the way they conduct themselves while the office but the current President any time I want to pray for the president it is only blessing that always comes out of his mouth. Before mentioning the positive actions the President has taken.

As for the religious bigotry SEUN, God use the most common things of this world to perform his works. You know why? So that the glory will come to him only. Please religion will not take you any where, grow up my brother.

In order not to be like the three miserable friend of Job in the bible, please read the content or context and not the caption.
Finally, like lawyers would say “for you to convict and accused person, the fact rely upon must be proven beyond reasonable doubt, and the fact must be consistence with the guilty of the accused person and they must not be consistence with any irrational conclusion.

Thanks, may God help us to think reasonable and not to use our mouth any how as not provoke damnation onto ourselves.

I read what you pasted stating what Bakare said about Yaradua, though I have read it before, but it all boils than that Yaradua is the Messiah. You see, this Tunde like to read the present political situation of the country and then make his prediction and claims God has revealed it to him. Just because Yaradua started well, he said all these about him. What will happen tomorrow if Yaradua changes?

I am not suprised of the responses I am reading and my aim is not to denigrate the grace of God. But the truth is that the Church is become more Evil and the people that head are leading and grow more "Thorns"

Imagine where imorality is engineered by the church. People are corrupt and bring their proceed into the church. The pastors dont preach virtue anymore.

A man that stole money will be a Good man because he pays tithe.
A man that works hard and is virtuous is regarded as an evil man.

To be a Goodman in Nigeria is very costly.

Look am not scared one bit of those evil one in "sheep's clothing" They disgrace the Blood of the Lamb and the grace it provides.

IT IS NOW COME TO CHURCH AND PAY MONEY AND GET BLESSED. THEY ARE SELLING BLESSING IN THE CHURCHES NOW.

Dont get me wrong

IT IS EVIL NOT TO TAKE THE OFFERING AND TITHES BUT IT IS A GREATER EVIL TO DWELL ON THE "GIVING TO GET BLESSED" TO THE NEGLECT OF VIRTUE.

If you go to those churches you will not get virtue it is "How to do this" "10 ways to do that" "25 ways to be this" "10 steps at becoming, "

Is it that wealth is not good ? NO far from it. The church is supposed to preach of the Character building of the human being.

The Zeal of the desire for wealth can kill humanity in a man. Just read through the post the evil in the heart of man can be seen clearly and you wonder that they go to church.

The bible says Having a similitude of righteousness from such turn thereof. You will be suprised that there Holier men in the North of Nigeria do you want to ask why?

The people in the Villages are innocent and holier than some of us that leave in the city. This hell fire preaching Churches spread evil and the want of material in the heart of the innocent.

The religion that embraces social exclusivity is an evil one even if it is a "Christian one"

Our preachers are now Politicians in disguise they build schools instead of teaching virtue they spend money to expand the crowd that are trooping to hell with no eternal life.

Liar Abortionist armed robbers and other social vices are there in the churches even some seek to hold offices in the church.

Some will say you without sin cast the first stone. I will say because we are all blind should we cover the sun? The initial person that was made the statement was he with sin?

First of all, i think the question poll should be removed, who am i to judge if Pastor Tunde Bakare's prophecies are from God. When he prophecied that Obasanjo will die, do we know if Obasanjo went running to God to forgive him, no one knows. I will not be the one to judge if he's a man of God or not becos his prophecy did not come to pass. God is merciful, when i was serving, a devoted christian sister got pregnant and everybody was shocked, people started castigating her and all what not, according to what i heard she went before the father and begged for forgiveness and remember God is merciful but people still continued judging and castigating her meanwhile the person she sinned against am sure had forgiven her.

Seun and all the people castigating pastor tunde, i wonder if you guyz are the epitome of perfection cos ur so quick to judge and pull down. The ways of men are not the ways of God.

Re: Oh God, Tunde Bakare Again! by ujaay(f): 9:35pm On Aug 21, 2007
My people, let us be careful of what we say about men of God. We are not qualified to judge anybody least of all men of God, God remains the only judge, remember; touch not my annointed and do my prophet no harm. I have come to know that one of the greatest causes of man's problems/curses is speaking against men of God! Please, lets not fall into that temptation, if you dont believe him, simply ignore him.
Now, we see in part and hear in part (from the bible) this means that God may show him part of something and not the complete thing, but it might not happen when he said it would or it might not happen at all for the reasons that have been addressed by others above. That does not mean it is a lie. If you understand spiritual things, you would know how these things happen. "Let him that have ears hear what the spirit is saying"
God can also use anybody to help His people; as he used Pharaoh to bless Joseph and the house of Isreal; used Nebuchadnezzar to bless Daniel and co, used Abemalech to bless Abraham & Jacob; Egyptians to bless the Isrealites etc. So it is not news that a non christian can be used by God to do His work on earth. Dont forget, He made the world and everything in it!!

Remain blessed!

utmost care must be taken because you cannot speak for God. He is still in charge of His church and will give to every one according to his or her reward. An anointed man of God is dangerous to desecrate. Touch not my annointed. I'm not a member of his church but I know this much, that everyone will give an account of every idle word. I believe that you have said enough on this matter. you can put a stop to it now. It can lead you to blasphamy.
Re: Oh God, Tunde Bakare Again! by sorich(f): 7:08am On Aug 22, 2007
@ ebos
Am not judging you and you know why? because no one is perfect, your quick to judge others but your not perfect and ur not perfect because no one is perfect. The bible says remove the log of wood from your eyes before removing the dust from another person's eye.
Also when has the word ''wondering'' turned to ''concluding'', i said i wonder if u are the epitome of perfection, this is not a definite statement. To stop me from wondering, its now up to u to let me know if you are the epitome of perfection or not.
Like Salvage said, is Jonah a false prophet because his prophesy did not come to pass?

Am not going to vote on the question poll, who made me judge.
Re: Oh God, Tunde Bakare Again! by Afam(m): 8:27am On Aug 22, 2007
It is people who support others blindly like this that will do anything a pastor says even if it is evil. For them it is what the pastor says that matter and not what the bible says.

One thing you people (that keep talking about touch not my anointed) is that in the first place are all these people claiming to be men of God actually men of God? This is the most important question otherwise a Lawrence Anini could claim to be a man of God and do you assume everyone must now believe him?

The same bible that you reference makes it clear that by their fruits you shall know them so if a pastor keeps sleeping with prostitutes he should be exposed and such exposures and condemnation will be in order and in accordance with the bible not what your pastor says.

Little wonder the people willingly drank cyanide because they believed a pastor that adviced them to do so - Guyana , crime of the century.

I hope all these foot soldiers of TB have never complained about OBJ or other past leaders in Nigeria otherwise they will be guilty of pure and unadulterated hypocrisy and sycophancy.
Re: Oh God, Tunde Bakare Again! by McKren(m): 9:23am On Aug 22, 2007
People have been so brainwashed to think you are blind when in reality it is they who are blind.

Man of God, Man of God, who is even Man of Satan?

The Bible in Genesis makes us understand that God created everything beneath the earth, saints and sinners alike. So who is a man of Satan??

People should believe in their Pastors for as much as they wish but they should also kindly protect themselves, your pastor has no right to live in affluence with church revenue when you are in abject poverty.

1. call a spade a spade

2. understand that now one has questioned God's authority here so what's with your "it does not stop God from being God"? This angle has never been in the equation mind you.

Those who spread or manufacture falsehood should be told it is not in anyone's interest.

That one is a Christian and keeps away from speaking against men of God is not foolishness, my dear, it is wisdom.
Remember that when Saul was chasing David to kill him and David got an opportunity to kill him first, he resisted the temptation because Saul was anointed by God. He even slayed the man that brought the "supposed" good news of Saul's death. So the fact that Saul was even possessed by demons at a point did not make him less anointed in the sight of David. He left it to God to say. It might be the time you are castigating someone, whether he be a man of God for real or not (God knows best) that he makes peace with God and The Almighty brings down judgement on you.
Thus my earlier advice; Ignore him, do not discourse him because it is always better to be on the side of surplusage than be found wanting.
Please my people, let us leave this case for the judge of the whole universe; GOD!

NB: I am neither a member nor an acquaintance of T.B. Infact, I only know his name and can't even recognize him by picture, but that does not give me the right to talk against him. I used to do that but I have come into knowledge and wisdom and wish the same for those of you that are yet to experience it.

PEACE!
