You are my nairaland man of the year... Let's not be fooled, so many fake life out there. Godliness with contentment is great gain hate.... post=83580362: We had not seen each other for about 30 years. The Lord has been kind to me. When I saw him again - this time at a hotel lobby - he was looking simple. He wore simple Ankara attire. I felt touched. He walked up to me and was glad to see me again. But deep within me I was not impressed with his status compared to mine and poor me, I couldn't hide it. We exchanged contact details and I could see the joy in him as he collected mine.
I told him I will drop him home in my brand new Range Rover and I pointed it to him. He declined and said he had already called for his car. It looked old, a 2001 Honda Accord.
I invited him the next day for lunch at my house. A part of me wanted to impress him - To show off my success and affluence to him, while another was to discuss opportunities and possibly help him.
He drove to Parkview where I lived. He looked impressed with my home. I had taken a heavy mortgage. In fact I was heavily in debt. We had lunch. He told me he was into small business and particularly real estate. I brought up more business discussions, but he didn't sound too interested. I asked him how I could help him. He said he was fine. I even told him if he was interested, I could help him secure some loans... He looked at me and smiled.
He told me he would invite me over soon to his place. His old car came for him. I was grateful to God for what I had. “Fingers are not all equal”, I thought to myself...I was lucky. I worked in a good place.
Two weeks later, we went to see him in Ikeja. My wife and I. She was reluctant to go because she was not impressed with the man's status as to warrant our visiting him in his house. I was able to convince her that we were close friends in college. We saw the Estate. *Wuraola Estate.* We asked for directions to his home. Those leading us spoke his name with deference.
It was a simple but lovely home. A 4 bedroom bungalow. I saw 4 cars parked in front. We entered his home. It was simply elegant with a touch of class inside. He welcomed us warmly.
Lunch was well served. His wife called him Baba Wuraola
During lunch, he asked about my MD. He said they were friends. I saw a company gift on one of his tables nearby. That company owned about 38% shares where I worked. I enquired from him about it. He smiled. He told me he owned the company. He also owned the estate.
I did not know when I called him sir... I was in awe of him too.
I had learnt a lesson in humility - A big one. Appearances are deceptive. He noticed my discomfort.
Driving back home, I was very quiet. My wife was humbled and extremely calm. I could perceive the thoughts in her mind. I looked at myself. Living on loans, heavy loans and showing off while someone who pays my salary is quite modest and living a simple life! Indeed Deeper Rivers Flow In Majestic Silence! |

makewetalk2: Yoruba! yoruba! one of the worst tribes to ever come from when the going is bad for you. see how they joined the northerners to embarass and belittle their own brother. they are torturing the man. do you think that they will accept you if you join them to smite your brother's neck? haha mumu. stay there day count wetin sowore do you. after sowore you are the next. Oodua Peoples Congress is like a secondary school boy scout's alumni club. Fela had tribulations and they killed his mother. all the yoruba people sit down in their houses like cowards and continued partying. kudirat was killed, they kept on partying. abiola was killed the party continued. fela was killed the party never stop. funsho williams was killed they brought in a new DJ. bola ige was slaughtered they brought in new sound system, obasanjo was jailed, they called Shina Peters to sing more songs.
the yorubas hate Obasanjo and they argue that he did nothing for them. but the man was in prison for years and they abandoned him. if not for the fresh apple that was given to abacha, the yoruba people would have long forgotten obasanjo. the man is looking out for himself cos he knows his people. he gave them ota farm they said it was for his own good. instead of capitalizing on the opportunities, they sit down to be spoon fed. while the igbos cash in on their chances. obasanjo made sure that awolowo was not forgotten. he renamed the university of ife to immortalize Awolowo. the same obasanjo renamed lagos airport to immortalize a northerner murtala. he made buhari what he is today. gave him opportunities and made him a minister of petroleum. it was all obasanjo a man from the western tribe. today buhari and jagaban are trying to tarnish his legacy. obansajo called a northerner Atiku as his VP and this northerner started challenging him. he gave Atiku so much freedomprominence and power . the ungrateful northerner, atiku developed beef for the man who gave him bread. it was only last year that atiku decided to make peace with obasanjo because he wanted to be a president. on the other hand, BUhari was president in 1983. he used a yoruba man called Idiagbon as his slave. today he is using another one as a slave. compare the treatment that obasanjo gave them to the treatment that Idiagbon and osinbanjo received and you will see the difference.
the igbos have a day they remember Ojukwu. they still mention his name and refer to him in most instances. have you heard any yoruba man mention Obafemi awolowo's name? is there a day to remember him? hahahahahaha I laugh
It took me years to verify the certainty of what my father used to say' "wherever a yoruba man drops his bag, there is his home".
the northerners have been killing the other tribes of the country for almost a century. the divide between these people are supposed to be religion but it transcends beyond that. the yoruba muslims thought that they would be safe in the north on account of their faith, but they equally get slaughtered whenever there is protest. nyamiri refers to all. still they align themselves with their killers.
yoruba people, sowore is your son and the way you treat him determines the way others treat you. he did not commit a crime. he is only an activist. do not dissociate yourself from him because he is in prison. if the man becomes president tomorrow, all these brown rotten teeth claiming that he does not represent yoruba people will jump out of their stink homes to sing his praise. truth...sincerely i couldnt but cry for the guy...my people are backstabbers.... |

Wisdomkosi: "The Devil Almost Blinded My Eye But God Spared My Life" - Beautiful Lady Shares Testimony
By Wisdom Nwedene
A beautiful Nigerian lady, Ada Nara Unateze has shared a testimony after she survived an accident that almost blinded one of her eyes, Igbere TV reports.
Sharing the testimony, Ada said she survived the accident because God spared her life.
According to her, "the truth is God's goodness exists outside of circumstance,it is not determined by what makes us feel good,God is good all the time."
She also prays for God's protection for everyone.
She said : "I am sharing this in a very Emotional state,God is good and I can't thank him enough for his love and mercy over my family and me,in spite of my imperfections."
"Exactly one month Today,July 11th the devil tried me,But then God spared my life in a split second."
"This morning as I reflected on the accident i had,I began to thank God for his goodness once again."
"Then it occurred to me, What if I had lost one of my Eye,What if my brain was affected, Would God not still be good? What determines Gods goodness?Things going our way?Averting injury? What prompt us to thank him for his goodness?"
"The truth is God's goodness exists outside of circumstance,it is not determined by what makes us feel good,God is good all the time."
"Not because our lives are pleasant all the time. Not because we get what we want all the time. No, God is good because the goodness is an unchangeable aspect of his perfect character."
"It was sobering this morning to search my own soul and consider,Would I still be thanking God for his goodness if this accident had a more sad outcome,I pray that I would It was right to thank God for his goodness yesterday, Not simply because he kept us safe,But because he is good no matter the circumstance,God never violates his goodness,So to thank God in this way is to affirm within our own hearts that God is good even when circumstance are bad."
"After thinking on this for a while, this morning I began to consider......'What then could have been a better prayer?" I began to thank God,not just for his goodness, but for his mercy. The truth is we deserve nothing......our sins condemns us to death.Yet God,by his mercy choose to allow us keep living.....I don't deserve life......and I only live by his mercy."
"Lamentations 3:22......it is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fails not."
"I am thankful for Gods goodness, which is independent of any circumstance. I am also thankful for his mercy on undeserving men . I am thankful that God is unchanging and that no matter what happens we can be assured that he has violated none of his perfect attributes,he is the unchanging, unmoveable Rock upon which we can build our lives."
" We all have battles we face in our different lives at a point All I need you to say on my Behalf is THANK YOU JESUS as much as you can Been Healthy is not just anything but a Miracle This is a video of me in a Month and how I healed quite fast as well In all of this I was still putting up smiles. "Special appreciation to all those that looked out for me,during this time May Gods blessings never elude you all
I pray that Gods protection will always be upon us "

Family › Re: 1 Year After Marriage, I Am Already Tired by NigeriaEngineer(m): 1:01pm On Aug 13, 2019 |
goodgirl2409: My husband has really changed. He is so unemotional and revengeful. I will cook for him severally and he won’t eat. I will serve him food and he won’t eat. I will ask him what I have done and he won’t respond. Every time he gives me the silent treatment.
I feel so pained because I expected more from this marriage but barely 1 year after, he doesn’t seem to love me anymore. Sometimes 1 month will pass, no sex. He would go out and won’t bother to tell me where he is going.
He would come back very late and would just ignore me like I don’t exist. Although he drops money for me to run the house and communicates strictly with me, it make no sense to me. I am tired. Is this how marriage is? Is this how men are or am I just suffering?
I don’t have anyone to beg to talk to him,and I was told reporting him to any of his family members is not good. things are getting worse everyday. People who have married for many years and are succeeding please help me. What am I not doing right?
UPDATE. I want to add that it is not sexual incompatibility. When he is in his happy mood, I would even be tired of his endless gist. S-x will be very great. He is kind and caring. Such a wonderful man. In fact an angel. He would even wash my underwear’s and clothes.
But when his mood start which is his mood most of the time, he won’t talk to you, he won’t eat. I will finish cooking, he will go outside and buy another food and come and cook. He won’t come back on time. I will ask him what is it, he would not respond. He always feels everything I do to annoy him, i do it on purpose. I am a peace loving person. Everyone around that knows the story always say that he has a problem. Whatsoever God gives will not hurt you... Go to the war room, and also try to work on your noticed weakness.. |
