Goodmorning Nairalanders, I learnt most Nigerians of today do not love eating Nigerian local foods (especially the females), either as a result of fear of growing obese, developing big tummy or losing their slim shape, etc, so they prefer Indomie, Spaghetti, etc...and I am yet to believe that. Now let's hear from you guys, what are your 3 favourite Nigerian local foods? Mine goes like this: 1. Eba with Bitterleaf soup 2. Bread fruit (ukwa) 3. Ewa Now over to you guys ![]() |

outrage: Dude your right but man, I was in a similar situation, hmm... I couldn't go to lectures, lost interest in everything.. Na God that semester o!I endorse this comment a million times. Please find time and visit the nearest Nigeria Kitchen for a wonderful treat for this your counsel. Meanwhile, it is totally wrong for someone to be so head over heels about someone who careless about his existence. Come on, this girl will be busy somewhere catching fun with people that matters to her and you are here whinning and crying like a kid. This is 21st century, don't be a fool for love pls. All the times a man acted fool for love, they all died or ended up regretting- Titanic; Rose lived to tell the story while Jerk died on the high sea. Romeo and Juliet, Romeo died. Sampson in the Bible; Sampson died, just to name but a few. Nature doesn't support a man being so foolishly inlove with a woman, have it in your mind or wait for sth terrible. |
Poster, you are embarrassing the entire menhood seriously. There are lots of ladies waiting and praying for a guy out there, why murder yourself over one? Like plenty others said, you have proven to her that u are too cheap, too freaky about her, readily available and she is afraid ur love n addiction for her may die down if she accepts to date u. That's y its not always advisable to be a friend with a girl u want to date- it doesn't always lead to positive result. Desert her completely and focus on your career, discuss it with your male friends and they will help to make you forget her and even turn it into a joking matter that will as well help open your blind eyes. And pls next time, don't try to impress a girl by buying her gifts cos she may end up being carried away by the pamperings and wouldn't want to be your girlfriend cos she knows that if she becomes, those gifts and spendings will surely reduce. Good luck and pls grow up and stop this cry cry attitude, is she Queen Elizabeth and even if she is, there are better queens than QE aside the English hyping |
kulyie: Its absolutly normal and its not an issue of playing hard to get, some ladies would prefer being friends with u than dating you.the moment u start making advances at her,she will immidiatly know that the basis or intention of your friendship with her was to woo her and naturally she becomes uptight,d reason for this is that so many girls have fallen into this stewpid traps of men, they form friendliness in order to date u and have sex with u and then end d relationship and knowing this, ladies become uptight.as a matter of fact d moment i realise a man that we started of as friends together, start wooing me,i waste no time in shunning and ignoring him, because this men want u to get relaxed with them, know your weakness and soft spot, take advantage of ur trust and their knowledge of u to their advantage.after i ignore them if i was friends with them on facebook i block them instantly.i set strong boundaries with men,we relate, yes but it has limits.if u want to woo me,woo me,let me know your intention and not come in guise of a friend,in fact it even helps me know who my true friends are.mshewww.Now this nullifies the Nigerian girls' general rule of: Let's be friends before dating. So guys can u see the reason why you shouldn't befriend a girl you want to date cos it won't work the moment you accept to be her just friend. If she refuses to accept you and asks that let u guys be friends first, be rest assured that the possibility of she agreeing to a date YOU is 0.000001. |
Girls seem to always be the architect of their relationship problems. Read the poster's first post and you will discover that she has issues. You better check yourself very well and fix your problem earlier now else, most great guys you may meet in future will follow this same trend of come and go cos men reason close to same way and they sense the same problem in a woman. On our way to a meeting, in central London. “We’ve got some time, shall we have a cup of tea first?” I asked my colleague. Thus began our gently Right-wing, middle-class, tea-consumption dilemma. For we were standing outside Starbucks, next to Goodge Street tube. Jon laughed: “Oh no! Can we buy our tea from those ferocious tax dodgers?” “The morality of tax is one thing,” I said, asserting my seniority, “but their Earl Grey is much better than Caffe Nero’s.” Perhaps fortunately, Starbucks was star-bursting to the seams with Bloomsburyites, sublimely indifferent to the suffering caused when multinationals pay only the legally sought amount of tax. We should have loitered on the street, just for a bit, because by the time we’d forced down Caffe Nero’s seemingly bergamot-free Earl Grey, Starbucks had agreed to pay about £20 million more in tax – Bloomsbury’s liberals can stop pretending they drank this morning’s coffee with equanimity. And I needn’t fear the company will find the £20 million by cutting back on the my favourite tea flavouring: the payments will be funded by not claiming “tax deductions for royalties or payments related to our intercompany charges”, according to a spokesman, speaking to the BBC. It’s easy (and correct) to laugh at Jon and I, worrying about where to buy our tea. Starbucks’ employees have more immediate concerns to worry about – it seems that the company can no longer afford to pay them for a lunchbreak; and if we all boycott this new Espresso Satan, what will happen to those employees? More work, or less? And why shouldn’t companies minimise their tax bills? I’m a company: payment for this blog is made to Graeme Archer Ltd. I deduct legally permitted amounts from the vast cheque I write HMRC, all agreed between the state and my accountant. Should I feel guilty about this? Of course not, no more than the non-Ltd form of Graeme Archer worries about paying into his ISA. But neither Graeme Archer Ltd, nor its sole physical manifestation, are multinational corporations (not yet). And it was the claim by Starbucks that it made precious little profit on its UK operations that drew the sharpest gasps of disbelief at the company’s parliamentary grilling. Multinational entities can do what the rest of us cannot – shove a bit there, move some more over here (remember those “intercompany charges” that proved so usefully deductible) – and so (perfectly legally) reduce their tax bill. Again: why not? I’m not a supporter of some demented Marxist sect. But there’s something … unprepossessing about this PR move by the coffee giant. After all, if it truly believed that it should pay more tax, why not simply pay corporation tax on its UK income? I don’t say that should do so; only that if one feels that multinationals should pay tax on their income, that seems the logical way to go. Rather than an arbitrary sum, tossed to the media in a hope to buy-off the liberal storm. There's a Belle & Sebastian song I like, called "For the price of a cup of tea". Twenty million pounds is an expensive price for the moral license to sell tea, admittedly. But I don't think it will prove enough. Lashings of bergamot oil notwithstanding. 2nde: I have up to like five cases where i met people on the internet especially Nigerians and immediately they see my picture, they will start to say all sort of sweet words and telling me they are falling in love as they are seeing the picture which i don't normally believe. Is it really true people can fall in love with pictures? For those falling for the Miss Nairaland and Mr. Nairaland participants' pictures, take note of this thread. Don't fall for pictures, pictures can be deceptive, some people are goddess in picture and gorilla in real life ![]() |

mimifonwon: Lol we can all dream now, am just saying, am attracted to men that show that they have potential to be great and proves it to me in their aspirations and goals- realistic goals-no fantasies. as long as he is educated and has something doing am okay. He doesnt have to be the richest, but can take care of himself, i dont mind helping. I feel that only women with myopic minds and and who are lazy chase after men for their money, for having all money in the world does not guarantee you happiness. I am just attracted to a man who has all i listed before, but nothing melts my heart than a man with a beautiful smile that respects women and a go getter. I dont mind if he doesnt have six packs, but no pot belly,nooo--never, i cannot do, and i cannot date a man that am taller than and M 5'7 without heels and can get to 6'1 in six inch heels. But Dare, i would forget the height if his smile is gorgeous. How old are u? Some of the female comments here are why guys mistreat today ladies...most of the comments here shows that our ladies of today are daydreamers and will most likely end in a heart break or lesser dream. Wake up peepz! |
Check Out the Backside Here's a shocker: Good wine is neither expensive, nor old. So how do you know what makes for a good bottle of vino? Well, for starters, it's deep, complex and stays with you long after you've tasted it. You're saying, "but there are so many. How do I choose?" The general tasting rules of swirl, sniff and sip are a start, but there's more to learn when determining if a wine is worthy of your taste buds and cash. We went to the experts to find out exactly what to look for. Scent of Attraction First appearance isn't everything. Front labels can be enticing, but check out the full package before you purchase. Read back labels for more information about a wine. Sometimes there are some clues about the wine like fruits, flavors, the aging process, importers and region. Keep an eye out for any stamps of approval like awards or reviews—all signs of a good wine. Go ahead and ask for recommendations. Don't be shy! "Ask the wine steward or a friend for a recommendation to help make your selection," says Peter Click, president and founder of The Click Wine Group (Fat Bastard Wines). "If you're on a date, chances are the woman across the table will appreciate your humility, vulnerability and security to ask for help from a trusted expert." Use Your Tongue Sound sexy? Well it is, but focus. Once you've swirled and sniffed your way around the glass, go in for the sip. Let the liquid move around your tongue. Do you taste dark cherries, grapefruit? Use your taste buds to figure out how many different flavors you can pick up on. Hint: as long as it's in balance and isn't putrid-smelling, the more you can taste the more complex the wine. Get Its Digits Is that a 2005 Bordeaux? Good vintage. If you do some homework and know your years and some favorite regions, you'll know if climate and weather conditions produced a perfectly ripe harvest—and good wines. Extreme heat or cold or too much rain can take a toll on the quality of some grapes. Embrace What You Really Like If you purchase the wine again, chances are you like it. When you find one you like, stick to it. It's simple, but be mindful of the grapes varietals in the wines you prefer. If you like Pinot Noir from Oregon, you just might dig a Burgundy from France.
