Ebonybiuty:My sister, making a publication now, would be for posterity sake. Forget about any "merit" list. That ship sailed a long time ago. If you have strong connection, you are a merit candidate. Timing is key in everything. The time to use a publication as a tool for justice is far, far gone. |
bowen2018:No one has her number here, brother. |
bowen2018:She's a lady! |
In other MDAs, anything goes. Especially when everything is discreet. In the just concluded NPA recruitment, wonders happened. I'm not going to tear down any ethnic group(s), neither would I support what isn't right, whether it favours me or not. Nigeria is a very wonderful country, and we're all at fault, whether from the North, South, East or West. It's just turn by turn, and some people know how to do it better than some others. In the military, speaking of the NDA, names are published on national dailies, so it would be almost impossible to jagger-jagger it. |
Gec8:Let me correct a misconception here, bros. In contemporary times, in the military, equal number of candidates are selected from all states. If you're talking of favouritism and godfatherism in the service, I won't argue with you. If any states are over represented, it is usually not by more than one person. If you attribute the number of "Hausa speaking" people to the fact that NE NW and NC central mostly understand the Hausa language, I'd agree with you. But saying SELECTION into the military is lopsided is far fetched. I'm speaking for the military alone o! Any other MDAs, I don't know. |
obonujoker:Luke 14:1 - And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day, that they watched him. The Pharisees are probably the nearest people to our politicians today. They were religious and hypocritical. I'm pretty sure that Christ never turned anyone who came to Him, regardless of their way of life. Even the Pharisees who came to test and tempt Him, He taught and corrected. And those faithful to Him, He told to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. It would be very unChristian to refuse to see anybody, rather see them when they come to you, but give them the truth, peradventure they might repent someday. |
Ferguson0709:It's okay, bro. I understand emotions are running high, and rightly so. May God help us ALL exercise restraint. |

I'm not trying to make you a demigod, neither do I mince words in an attempt to soothe anyone. All the best. |
Ferguson0709:You can make your point without having to do that, brother. I wonder what the thread would degenerate to if everyone started to throw such words around. I've frequented this thread probably more than anyone else, and I least expect name-calling from you, even if others are doing it. Cheers |
A number of us conferred together and felt making a publication was a good idea. The decision didn't go down well with some other people. That's not a problem, seeing as this is a large forum with diverse people with different schools of thought. I personally believe in diplomacy and respecting people's opinions, regardless of whether they align with mine or not. What pained me most was that a lot of people here resorted to name calling, and even questioned the motive behind making a publication, calling us selfish and self centred. I for one have moved on from this DPR recruitment debacle, but I supported the publication for posterity sake. Whether it yields a positive outcome or not, let the state of Nigeria be known to our children's children, peradventure, they might correct the ills and injustice in this country. A number of people were instigated by people who were not even interviewed, to rain insults on others here, because of differing opinions. But it's okay. Make we dey look. I hope to God DPR disappoints me by doing the right thing, so I'm not given any reason to say "I told you so". Me sha, I've learned my lesson. I'm going to teach my children to be self sufficient, so they don't have to just study hard, write aptitude tests, perform well and watch stakeholders oppress them. Because the same people who got in via the leg of men would surely do same when their kids want into the system. Believe that! Again, I hope DPR disappoints me by doing the right thing. As for me, I'm reverting to the plan I dumped over a year ago before DPR flattered to deceive. Godspeed, everyone. |
peepydelano:We don't need anybody to update us, brother. If and when the DPR is ready to contact anyone, they would do it. As a matter of fact, the silence is better for some of us this way. Good luck and God bless. |
Babagy823:LOL!!! DPR recruitment thread is turning out to be comedy gold. |
OjioO16:Bros, where you come out from? I've been sending you DMs on twitter. Welcome back. |
notindome:I sent you an email, brother. |
It is rather disappointing and unfortunate that our brethren that have gone ahead of us, whether by virtue of the hand of God or the legs of men, have refused to intimate us on their experiences so far. And I'm not talking of them giving away sensitive info. I'm talking basic stuff like how medicals and documentation went, average number of intakes in their field and zonal offices. Just so we can encourage ourselves as we do our permutations. No wahala sha, by the grace of God, a good number of us shall meet you there. |
Brother, I eagerly anticipate the end of this DPR recruitment saga. And by the power of God, may it end in favour of the deserving candidates. Wishing everyone the very best. notindome: |
xcelentattitude:No man can do it himself, but if we present ourselves to God, He will do it. It doesn't happen automatically, there has to be a burning desire and prayer for it. He circumcises our hearts as He says in Deuteronomy 30:6 - And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live. The same way one submits himself for circumcision in the flesh, so also one must submit for circumcision Of The heart. God bless. |
notindome:Amen, brother. Amen! |
notindome:I'm doing okay, brother. I trust you are alright. Been following the thread silently. Soon enough we'll get closure on the matter, and by the grace of God, it will end in favour of most of the deserving candidates. It is well with us. |
alBHAGDADI:The write-up you posted is truly long and in all honesty, I'm not going to read it. But I'll say again that there's no such thing as eternal salvation. I'll quote a few scriptures to back it up. But first, let it be noted that before you even profess faith in Christ, you must first repent of your sins. Sadly, nominal Christians don't know that. So people live in perpetual sin and profess the name of Christ. Even Jesus said in Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Luke 9:1-2 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. Paul in the book of Hebrews summarised the foundational teachings of Christ, the first being repentance from dead works, which is sin. Hebrews 6:1-2 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. To come to Christ, one had to first confess, repent and forsake all his sins. Judas was saved. He was among the 12 that went out to preach. And Christ said their names were written in Heaven. The same Judas who was commissioned to preach and heal the sick, became the son of perdition, whose soul became lost. Now, there are many other Bible references that point out that a saved person can lose their salvation. Eg. Jude 1:5-12 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.[b] And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities. Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; Note the bolded from the book of Jude. Twice dead, means they were once dead in sin, they got saved and died again. They lost their salvation. Read the book of first John, you will realise that if you claim to be of Christ, but walk contrary to His commands, you're not of Christ. If you're bearing fruits of unrighteousness, you're not Christ's. You'd be like the Pharisees who John the Baptist called vipers and told them to bear fruits meet for repentance, though they came to be baptised of John. Salvation is a gift, yes. But it comes with a command. The command to be holy. Holy" means "set apart", as in set aside for a particular purpose, and implies being "special" and acting accordingly. In particular it means "set aside for God's service". Holiness is a command. Holiness is what we strive for and is gradually improved in us by the sanctification of the Holy Spirit. This is not something imputed to us, but something which we are commanded to become: be holy, for I am holy. "Righteous" means "made right" (justified), or "being right", not in the sense of "correct", but as in "not wrong" - being pure, honest, sinless. Perhaps a better way of putting it would be "not guilty" or "blameless". Righteousness is a gift. The two should go hand in hand |
wealthyhenry:My quote was in reference to the fact that God loved him. God loves everyone, and He loves even more when they abide. I wasn't making reference to the numerous concubines. That's another issue in it's entirety. |
alBHAGDADI:1 Corinthians 10:1-12 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. |
PUSSYBBQGRILLS:1 Kings 11:9 And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice. |
OjioO16:Could you let us know what's happening, please? Kind regards |

Marvel65:Thanks for the encouragement, Marvel65. God bless. |
Marvel65:Na wa o! As if the torture is not enough, we'll now have to wait another 6 agonising weeks before we get closure. And plenty underground runs will be going on until the distribution date. It is well. |
Xtruzz, we can see you. How far? Any news? |
notindome:I've replied, brother. |
bayelsaowei:Bros, I don't understand your question o! But if this helps, some people who did not write the test nor attend interview were called. |
Desric:Startimes! |
