raumdeuter: Lol. How much do you think Lukaku is worth in the market? 15M? We know he was priced for 55 and Everton refused so... Anyway there's no way James is worth even 30m let alone 75. If we do sign him for such a stupid price then that Oscar deal should be probed by the FBI, because no serious business would immediately splurge such profits on a Colombian rude boy and occasional footballer. |

FBS oya come and look at this article. http://www.skysportsracing.com/transfer/news/11096/10685808/everton-not-playing-to-romelu-lukakus-strengths-under-ronald-koemanI think the last paragraph is succinctly put At the moment, though, Everton are guilty of playing a system that doesn't suit him, with not enough players to compliment his game, wasting their most dangerous asset. So you can BBC, Football365, Goal.Com, Dailymail, Sky Sports are all highlighting the shocking lack of service Lukaku is getting. I take your point that Lukaku can do better, and that is definitely true...but there's only so much you can do when as a striker you no fit even see 1 single through pass in some games.... |

FBS: Egbon Nihilist, I know you are trying to be funny, but you are not.
And yeah, lets blame Ross, Ronald but not Romelu. Very convenient.
Simple question, those passes he received for center circle, midfield or wherever, what did he do with them? Did he bring any of his team mates into play or he lost them? easily? This is not a matter of convenience. Afterall I did not write that article. I have given you stats, articles, charts. I have asked you to give a clear example of maybe one particular play and highlight what you felt the boy did wrong and could have done better. I posted a picture of Lukaku and Valencia alone and surrounded by 7 Red shirts. What do you want a striker forced to come to centre circle to touch ball to do? Oya see match reports from yesterday BBC Everton also failed to give sufficient support to main marksman Romelu Lukaku and Koeman will surely be looking to address this problem in the January transfer window. Daily Mail ROMELU LUKAKU - Had to feed on scraps which was shame because he unsettled Liverpool's defenders when he got on the ball Goal.com R. Lukaku Gave Klavan real problems before the break, but thereafter service to him dried up and he became a peripheral figure. SKy Sports even did one very long piece a few weeks back on how Koeman is hurting Lukaku's game....I will look for it and post it here for you. You cannot realistically expect a lot from a Striker that gets no service. |

FBS: To do something sensible with the ball. He did nothing with it. Can you give me an exact example of what you mean? These are the passes that Lukaku recieved all game. Just ONE was in the box. Almost all of them are long balls from Coleman or Stekelenburg. What sensible thing should a striker not blessed with immense technique do when his teammates cant even be bothered to give him a ball inside the box 18? Note how many balls were received around the centre circle too Is that how they used to do in Russia egbon FBS? On a more serious note though, like I said before, his touch was often bad last night, but that's not something that we just found out. But when a manager insists that his defenders should keep launching hopeful 60 yard balls at Lukaku, what can we expect? Imagine a the called creative midfielder registering less than 60% pass completion tori Olorun.

FBS: Even those passes he received what did he do with them? I can tell you, he lost them.
CFs/Strikers dont always receive the best passes or support but there is absolutely nothing wrong in making something happen out of nothing (e.g Costa against WestBrom) See below Unfortunately, for all their dominance of territory, Everton failed to carve out a single meaningful chance, nor did they have a shot on target in the first half. One of the biggest reasons for that was the continued struggles of Barkley, who hampers the side as much as he helps them when in this kind of form. It’s time to ask serious questions; ‘what could be’ is too quickly becoming ‘what may never be’.
The moment to sum up Barkley’s first half came after 20 minutes, when Lukaku won a header against Klavan, nodding the ball to his midfielder. Lukaku then peeled off his man and screamed for the pass that would send him through on goal. Not only did Barkley delay his pass too long, he then played the ball straight into Klavan; the chance was gone.
The moment to sum up Barkley’s second half came as the game neared stoppage time, when he shanked a cross so badly into the crowd that Koeman had a two-second nervous breakdown in response. Don’t be surprised if he doesn’t start the next league game. He should be suspended anyway, to be fair.
I don’t want to be too harsh on Barkley, who is clearly suffering from an extended period of poor form. But when you register a pass completion of 44% in the first 15 minutes when your team is on top, and 57% in the entire match, something is clearly awry. I mean what do you wan't from Lukaku when the 'creative' midfielder can't pass a ball to save his life. What do you want the Striker to do? |

FBS: There were times he had the opportunity to move into open spaces with the ball but for whatever reason, the guy just dey corner himself.
Agreed he was constantly playing (thats how he play anyways) with his back to the opposition but he did NOTHING with all the passes he received.
He was sha.it last night. He had very few opportunities to show himself. Lovren gave him close marking. In fact Lukaku was having to drop into his own half to recieve service, which is where he collected the ball and tried to start a run that led to Lovren fouling him in the centre circle. Don't get me wrong o. His first touch was often poor, but we all know that's not his strong suit. That being said he had practically no service except for long balls to nod or extremely fast balls to feet. Give lukaku angled suru and watch him do the biz for you. |

First touch - zero holding up play - zero.
he was the definition of poo last night. anyways, guess he is still learning. Hold up for who? This was the story of Lukaku last night. If you play a hold up man, then somebody has to be coming short to collect the ball. Koeman is playing 3 dms in effect and 2 ultra useless wingers. What do you want lukaku to do?

hensben: Bro technically, Lukaku is average. Of coures technique isn't Lukaku's strong point. He's a battering ram of a player that plays best when he's running on to through balls and bashing opponents out of the way. Koeman is not playing to Lukaku's strengths at all. It's like having Messi up front and still deciding to play cross and nod football. |

Koemans direct tactics are ruining Lukaku's game though. Lost count of how many times Coleman ignored the 20 yards of space in front of him instead electing to ping a 60 yard diagonal to Lukaku that is well known to be weak in the air
The guy has no supply from midfield and is always isolated upfront which is unsurprising seeing the battalion of ishon warriors koeman keeps playing.
Then they keep pinging some very fast passes to his feet as if he is Ronaldo.

I wonder how some euro cup final which ronaldo didn't even feature in, becomes the supposed tie breaker between messi and ronaldo. this logic defies common sense. Even Maradona said that Messi did not deserve that award. Whereas not only did Ororo win the final he played in, Portuguese FA declared him officially greater than Eusebio. Even the Portuguese President came out to call Ronaldo an icon of Portugal. Compare and contrast who's efforts are more appreciated |

This shows people remember the things he did on the pitch and do not care about him not winning an international trophy with Netherlands.
It's okay though,I understand the frustration. Even after Cristina won a trophy with Portugal he still is not considered a G.O.A.T except by his fanboys and Real Madrid fans....LOL. Cruyff was a bitter old man who was upset that Ronaldo upstaged him in every category even on the international stage. Cruyff is the embodiment of the 'Up Barka' bad belle sentiment that is determined not to let Ororo be great. |

DarkRebel101: Reductio ad absurdum. Your analogy's a stretch.
Beyonce is well out of your reach ( ) – a will-o'-the-wisp if you will. On the other hand, Messi winning WC or Copa America is not inconceivable, especially if we extrapolate from the fact that's he has managed to reach three finals in international football – two Copa America and one WC final.
Your sentiments and partisanship befog your judgement. Why is Beyonce out of my reach yet success within reach for a man who has been to 4 international finals and has nothing but tears and catarrh in his beard to show for it? Ronaldo had two shots, he took 1. Messi had 4 shots, he scored none. Reductio ad Ororo le god. |

DarkRebel101: I don't think you're fully aware of the World Cup's worth. Nigeria would gladly trade all theor gold medals from the African Nations Cup just to earn a spot in a WC final, and you are here talking about EURO cup.
Luckfavoured Ronaldo once in international football. It shouldn't warrant much cöck-a-doodledoo, especially since Messi's personal and team achievement in club football enshadows that of CR7. I can understand why CR7's shoddy EURO Cup win is exhumed for comparison's sake – it's because that's the only thing we can say he edges Messi in.
Wake up to the coffee smell on the wall: success in country football had never been the ultimate barometer in determining who the better player is.
Luck is not the acme of excellence. Every football pundit worth his/her salt knows this. I know you know this as well, but you are resolute in your refusal to rise above your CR7-ManUnited partisanship and call a spade a spade.
CR7 is older than Messi. Messi can still play in two world cups and two Copa America. Ergo, there's still that window of possibility that Messi can achieve success in country football. Case closed. And even if, perchance, he doesn't get to win any trophy with Argentina; he still remains the greatest footballer of all time. There's still a window of possibility that I can marry Beyonce. |

DarkRebel101: Hater, hater!!
Reaching a WC final is still regarded more highly than winning a Euro Cup in the footie community – . And cement is more nutritious than elubo. Messi is the pacesetter; Ronaldo plays catch up. When will you lot accept that what Messi is to CR7, Ivan Drago is to Yuri Boyka? Ronaldo caught up to international success, Messi set the pace too fast for his tiny legs to keep up.
