Chelsea have made a British record £65m bid for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku, who was sold by Chelsea in July 2014 for £28m, could now return to the club for a fee more than double that sale.
Not only would it comfortably break the British transfer record (as long as Paul Pogba doesn’t join Manchester United first), but would also indicate a significant meal of humble pie for Chelsea.
Sold by Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte reportedly told Chelsea weeks ago that Lukaku was his No. 1 transfer target to lead the line. Quite what that does for Diego Costa’s Chelsea future is unclear, with Michy Batshuayi already signed.
Almost every one of Wednesday’s papers has the story, but The Sun use an Everton ‘source’ to bring us their thoughts on the move:
“The club have made a very generous offer – it breaks the British and club record – and is more than double what Everton paid for Romelu.
“Last summer the John Stones negotiations became a bit of a saga and Chelsea want to avoid that so pretty much have told Everton they want to get this all wrapped up by the weekend.” Everton are thought to be holding out for £75m for Lukaku, but surely would consider settling for £70m if it means they can finally get on with their own summer business. Ronald Koeman’s squad does look very light indeed.
cc every single person who was asking where the bids for lukaku were, the people who prefer anything to Lukaku, and the people who called the police on Lukaku when he was hustling trying to feed his daughter...
I don't usually talk about Sterling except in relation to Oscar.
Na una claim say Oscar is in the top 5 under 23 players in the world. Sterling was just one of many names I threw out as being better.
Dig back and you will see Nihilist saying that both Oscar and Sterling are crap from the same sphincter
Until last season Sterling has never bettered Oscar for goals and assists. Last season Sterling posted 10 goals or assists in all comps. Oscar posted 9 despite playing several matches fewer.
I remember that year both yourself and nateevs just dey hype that SWP incarnate anyhow.
See Sterling now - less than a year after costing 50m pounds, he is almost persona non grata at City. The same team he deservedly moved to
I actually prefer having 1 defensive fullback in a 442/424 configuration.
When the attacking full back charges up, the defensive full back can tuck in and form a back 3 with the centre backs.
2 attacking fullbacks will expose the centrebacks too much, especially when neither of the central midfielders are expected to play exclusively defensive roles.
Ibime: You ain't told me nothing. The ninja is still better than Oscar which was the debate.
I was told Oscar was top 5 Under-23 player in the world, and I said there are many ninjas better than him. I was asked to list players, and I listed them, of which you niggas picked Sterling to argue about.
I listed many others better, and would have listed many more, eg I wanted to list Coutinho, but I didn't want ninjas to sart argueing that why is Oscar ahead of Coutinho in Brazil NT.
It was you ninjas who claimed Oscar was a God at Under 23 level. I didn't claim anything about Sterling except that he is better than Oscar. . . . which he still is.
I actually posited that day that Sterling was not better than Oscar...which is a #fact.
You were arguing that Sterling's transfer to City was proof of his godbody flow.
raumdeuter: So where are all the "Weakening the bundesliga" activists now? Or does the Bundesliga only get weaker when bayern buys but its okay when foreign clubs buy
Ibime: You mean all of Nihilists favourites are leaving?
Well Mikel ain't going nowhere. We have to endure that parasite for one more year. His Russian billionaire babymama is well settled in London and won't be taking her newborn twins to Erdogans Turkey which is a no go area for Russians. . . nor is she taking them all the way to China. Those are the only two countries that will entertain that parasite.
London is a lifestyle choice for Mikel, one which his brother Emenalo has helped him to maintain. That parasite is not your regular footballer that moves clubs in search of playing time.
LOL
You don start again.
What's up with Sterling? I heard Leroy Sane don sign for City too. With Nolito sef.
Ibime: That's more than everybody you named. How was Lukaku more expensive than him? Stick to facts.
One thing I agree with you is that Baba did not cost the full £22m because that is contingent on him making 100 appearances. . . and Baba is too utterly shyte to smell 100 appearances for Chelsea.
Now swear to God you didn't tell us Baba is better than Ake 4 weeks ago.
Of course I did and I even still said it last week. And I will say it again today. Baba is a better LB than Ake
But I did not give that as a reason to justify his loan. If we stick to the #facts, you will remember that my opinions on Baba vs Ake was tangential to the original discusion on whether Emenalo sent out Ake without Conte's approval or not.
Ok so I lied( ) about Lukaku, but it's still around the same ball park as the Baba fee which s what I was driving at anyway.
diggz: The bolded above is actually misleading bros.
You are making it look like azi met a Cole in his 20s and saw him off. It is totally wrong bros.......
The luiz you keep repeating azi saw off is not completely true bros. Mou is well none for be more pro-defend than attack. This is someone who sold robben and bought malouda bros....
Azi can never lace luiz boots attack wise but was better defensively and was obviously preferred by mou. You are definitely overstating or exaggerating this!
You have made your position on Bertrand very clear but, how you arrived at it is kinda questionable bros.....
Azpilicueta is better than Luiz. That is a #Fact.
It wasn't as if Filipe Luiz actually wowed us in the 26 appearances he made for Chelsea. #Facts only bro.
Ibime: Nihilist: Ake loan is justified because Baba is better than him
Actually, this is what Nihilist said exactly 4 weeks ago to the day. #Facts
Nihilist: This could suggest that the boy has been sent out to develop further as a midfielder. Considering that we are definitely in the market for midfielders, it's very possible that Conte has already evaluated him and found him wanting - Afterall, why would Conte be chasing the likes of Naingollan if he hadn't already evaluated the quality of midfielders already on ground?
Anyway, let's leave it here abeg. I have no appetite for another long debate tonight.
You may very well be right sef, so....
next..
Nihilist: It is only right for Baba to go on loan because Azpi is better than him. Ola Aina can take the RB spot and can even play right-back (but Ake is not ready to get minutes grin)
Well, this is a fact.
It's a good decision to send Ake on loan because he won't get minutes but Chalobah is already getting minutes in Ake's midfield position, and Ola Aina is getting minutes in Ake's fullback position.
Why don't you let Chalobah get actual minutes before you make such a bold claim. Unless preseason now counts as 'minutes'. Stick to the #facts like nihilist.
How those LMFAO singers put am. . . .
Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle, Yeah!
This nigga sabi wiggle ehn grin grin grin
That's the effect of a lifetime of opa eyin and sepe.
Facts. Facts . Facts. Ibime gimme better 808 beat abeg. I need to drop some future style fact related bars.
