mcfarlin:If there's any kid here, it's you spewing some really ediotic comments here simply because it's in line with what Coogar thinks. You have yet to back any of your statements with a single fact, yet you keep dismissing factual evidence with statements like azzlicking, xenophobia, etc... |
mcfarlin:Why does Thiago alcantara earn more that Arjen Robben at Bayern? |
mcfarlin:So Rooney not making the Bayern Team = Overhype? How many players in the world would make that Bayern team? Bayern is arguably the best in the world with Global top 5 players in each position for the 1st team. Do you reason with your brain at all? |
mcfarlin:So touting English Manager for England Job = OverHyped? You were shouting how they are overhyped but yet you won't give me articles to back your claim. Note that each of my responses to you have been backed by fact. Why can't you do the same? |
mcfarlin:Please give us examples of where they have been overhyped. I think you just talk for the sake of it. Allardyce and Hodgson are constantly lampooned on the media. Big Sam's allardici comment made him the joke of the month in the media at the time, and Roy Hodgson is routinely called Woy Hodgson by the media mocking his speech impediment. Can you show us where the managers you mentioned have been overhyped? Just one article please? |
dopeJemi:So what stage of the game did you rally at against City and Chelsea. You had only 2 shots on target in 90 minutes yet my man is claiming 'balanced game' ![]() Only a point gained from a possible 6. Can't you be objective for once in your life? |
mcfarlin:You said the British Managers were overhyped by the press...can you back up that assertion with examples? Players are NOT managers |
mcfarlin:Can you back up your assertion with an example of such asslicking? |
dopeJemi:Lmao I'll give you QPR and maybe even the Chelsea game. Against City....you had only 2 shots on target. And remember that against Everton your goalkeeper was the man of the match as you were sliced open again and again. Keep deceiving yourself...like you co fan said, the logs don't lie |
MadCow1:So if he changes his DP, you'll be willing to take him on board as a client? |
Martinez was lucky to win the FA Cup. Wigan went down that year, and Martinez was unable to improve Everton's league standing to following year. Infact, I would argue that the defensive solidity Everton had under Moyes is gone. Look at Everton conceding goals left, right, and centre. This is not unlike the Wigan under Martinez who would play gung-ho football and ship baskets of goals and flirt with relegation annually Even the so called attractive football under Martinez has so far failed to yield dividends as they only have 3 wins out of 11 league games. And all of this after spending heavily in the transfer market Martinez is a downgrade on Moyes |
mcfarlin:That's not the question I asked you. You claim that Van Gaal is playing good football and my question was dos you watch the crystal palace game...yes or no? |
M mcfarlin:Did you watch your game against Crystal Palace? |

Jarus:Monarchy arrogates leadership and elevated privileges to a select few, by virtue of birth. Leftist Ideology is at total odds with any sort of Monarchy. Just ask Tsar Nicholas the 2nd ![]() |
I really enjoyed reading this. That said, I find it quite hypocritical, that despite the obvious left-leaning sentiments SLS expressed in this article, he still went to lobby for and obtain a Royal Position. I would imagine that a person who liberally quotes Marx and Tolstoy as SLS has, would be for the abolition of any kind of monarchy, any time, anywhere. |
AirborneLacer:Personally, I believe that the popularity of the leagues is due to several factors, predictability not being one of them. 1) Colonial ties: it's no surprise that the EPL is at its most popular in English Speaking Countries, just as La Liga is hugely popular in South America and Eredivisie huge in South Africa. Remember that English is the most widely spoken language in the world, and that the British Empire once spanned more than half the globe. 2) Continental Success: Closely linked to point number 1. Europeans conquered most of the world, so it's not surprising that the European Champions League is the biggest competition in Club Football, with even more prestige than the World Club Championship. And the winners of the European Tourneys always raise the profile of their domestic leagues. 3) Extensive Marketing: The markerting aspect is another huge reason why the EPL is so popular. Carling, Barclays, and Nike are global behemoths in their respective fields and have a presence in most of not all countries in the world. The mere association of the EPL with such giants already suggests to the casual observer that the EPL must be as big a brand as the names that sponsor it. 4) Capitalism: Closely linked to 3 and 1. The EPL is completlely capitalist by nature and its member clubs are run in such a way where profit and margin are king and football is merely a commercialized product. It stands to reason that the league will seek to market its product as the best in the world to attract more viewership and ramp up profits. Compare with the German model of football, where there is a more socialist outlook with subsidized tickets and fan representation at board level. There are consequently less funds available for marketing and its appeal is consequently reduced compared to EPL Finally, 5) Western Political and Cultural Supremacy: closely linked to numbers 1-4, Western society dominate politically and culturally. We think in thier languages, idolise thier entertainers, and eagerly snap up their latest fashions. So it's not surprising that obsession with Western clubs dominate the local ones, and the guy who dominates in numbers 1-4 end up exploiting the Western Hegemony to the fullest....that guy being the EPL. EPL viewership numbers is not a result of a perceived unpredictability at all.... Sorry if this response is that long. |
N raumdeuter:And you are still an oloshious, Nazi loving, midgetfucking Cocoa farm labourer from Ogbomoso I rep Chelsea till the day you brush your teeth |
raumdeuter:Exactly.... Let's not forget the nineties and early noughties when Manyoo were expected to come first and everyone else fought for second place. It's easy to criticise the Bundesliga now, but remember that our title win in 05 was the 1st in almost 60 years, and City had not won the league in in 43 years before snatching the title fortuitously in 2012..... So it was pretty much a 1 horse race that has expanded to a 3 horse one in the EPL ![]() |
nateevs:In the last 3 years there have only been 2 winners in both competitions so this isn't really helping your argument of the EPL being less predictable.... 3 years is too small a sample anyway. |
nateevs:Haha No it's not Bayern, Dortmund, Wolfsburg and Stuggart have won it in the last 7 seasons Unlike Manyoo, City, and Chelsea in the same time frame. If you stretch the time frame to the last 10 years, you will find that there have been 5 different Bundesliga champions compared to EPL's three... So the EPL is actually far more predictable. |
It's actually pretty easy to predict who would win the EPL as it is invariably one of either Chelsea, Manyoo or ManCity with Arsenal as rank outsiders. |
rokiatu:It's true though....I bet that nigga is 5 foot 4 I really don't get the hype...That's why I'm promoting someone else: https://www.nairaland.com/sobsisrael1996 |
Idowuogbo:No... This is an opportunity to promote a candidate against all odds. There already seems to be a clear winner...with your help we can shake things up...and shock quite a few people. I mean it. |
