Jarus: tkb417:Hmmn, ![]() Its interesting you guys 'claim' to know me. Funny enough i've respected you guys here on NL as well. You guys always have very intelligent & enlightening posts - Jarus on career, politics and education while Tkb, discussions bordering on sports, career & IB. [s]maybe becos we're in the same profession & industry[/s] ![]() [s]Of course, you guys also never fail to remind NL that you graduated from Ife! wateva[/s] ![]() |
@Biina. Thanks for the heads up. If what you're saying is actually the operational framework for the banks post-UB license era, then it makes a lot of sense. |
sleek417:My thoughts exactly. I think biina deserves an award in the emerging leaders category for his robust contributions bordering on politics, nation's economies & the career section. Its always a breath of fresh air hearing his opinions on issues and same for Ibime as well. [s]You might be wandering who this is been on NL since 2007 but i hardly post[/s], ![]() |
dafman10:No wahala. Just needed to clarify since it seemed like everyone else else was already 'buying into the no corper was posted to pleateau story'. Anyway, enjoy camp. ![]() |
@ Poster, Thats not true, As i speak i know of at least 2 people that were posted to Pleateau and infact one of them is my friend's bro who should have left for camp since yesterday but due to the present Jos crisis, he's still at home. He's now trying to touch base with the NYSC directorate on the way forward, |
I totally agree with the poster and outstrip on this one. A lot of men feel intimidated or inadequate by a woman's success and are not able to handle this properly. A lot of women that happen to fall in this category now are being forced to always bend over backwards or keep walking on egg shells just because you don't want to offend the guy or you don't want people to keep chatting trash about you.Its very unfortunate and but its an offshoot of the negative reinforcement our culture has imbibed in the men & the society at large that successful women are arrogant etc, and men should dine with them with a long spoon. I have lots of friends experiences to back up my facts so i know this is common place in our society today. A working class girl that's earning well will always try to tone every thing she does down like 2 notches below just to please the Man and so most times, she's very vulnerable and easily falls into the hands of a gold-digging guy or her bf keeps taking advantage of her humility at her own detriment. |
@Poster You can check out this URL below, He's a Nigerian food blogger. Hope this helps, http://alhajibabasheri..com/ |
MRbrownJAY:ROFL!!! but very true, He who plays the piper dictates the tune, though i don't support arbitrary changing of dates for flimsy excuses such as this. |
Yeah, I've flown at least 5 times with the 7k ticket. Just make sure you fly on the scheduled date and don't miss your flight cos missing it is a 'long thing', ![]() |
@ Akatamba I don't know why you keep hating on Liverpool and yet they keep getting better in each game, Go and hug a tree if you hate Liverpool so much but it doesn't change the fact that when it comes to the big stage in Europe, we never dissappoint. All the 'hatorade' you keep spewing has come to no effect. Quit hating & whining about Liverpool and get something better to do. Liverpool is no match for all these teams and we have proven that over & over again! Long Hiss, |
@ webprince & manuel Its not about being ajebo, it is where you know you can get quality stuff @ competitive prices. The price of rings @ Deinte in silverbird is not bad (as i heard oh!) and the fact the $ is very high right now. You can also check shops that sell wedding dresses & accessories. Even the abokis in Kano or Abuja have hiked their prices of gold per gram (last time i checked it was 4500/g). With 80k, you will definitely get something but don't forget that it is the $ that is driving these prices, ***size=2pt][s]soup wey sweet na money kill am oh, na you wan marry so be ready to spend the money[/s]*** |
You guys can try Deinte. Its a jewelry store that specialises in wedding rings. They are located @ the Silverbird galleria & they've got really nice Italian gold rings. |
Watch out, Busy_body is back with big_bumper |
@ Igbogolo Did you used to work for Arik air ? Just courious becos the way you talk so passionately about them in all your posts is ![]() or did they appoint you as their ambassador ? ![]() |
Can't we all just be nice for once and stop derailing people's threads? :-XToo many people in this auto section are just faffing around looking for drama Abeg lets try to respect each other's business here and deal responsibly. No need for insults and attacks. ** i don't even know any of them that have bought cars here sef or even interested, na so so wahala! ** |
Eko club (Arcade) is in Surulere off Bode Thomas. As for Unilag, i don't exactly believe the gist about gate-crashing your wedding because i have gone for sooooo many weddings there and i didn't see anything like that neither did the hosts complain of strange looking people. Just don't forget that its better for your hall to be a bit too big than for it to be smaller cos a small hall takes out the comfort of your guests and takes the fun out of the party. e.g. All the best in your planning babes! |
@ Naja Haje There are 2 ways most people deal with caterers: Its either you deal with them on a per-head/plate basis or you tell them you will provide the basic food stuff (not all but stuff like rice, veg.oil & cow) while they do the cooking & stuff, Both options are ok but i guess some pple choose option 2 because caterers are fond of saying that 'food is finished' or 'meat has finished' after serving about 60-70% of the guests & thereby leaving much to be desired. So by providing them with the stuff you bought, you can to some extent control the size of the cooking so as to avoid disappointments. Some folks even maintain that the caterers cook in their compound (if they have space) or in a designated place with adequate facilities for that purpose, The good thing about option 1 is that it takes the stress off you totally but its better you deal with a caterer you've got a personal r/ship that is honest & won't disappoint your guests since she has to take full responsibility for the food. I think most of them charge between 1000 - 1500 now though i feel you should negotiate to about 1,200 max. The finger foods is on a different level as it depends on the type of small chops you want to make up a plate. Think it usually ranges between 200 - 500 per plate. I hope this helps. |
@ Saujee Kindly help me check the VIN of this vehicle 4TIBE46K48U257740. Thanks and please get back asap. |

You can check out Eko Club Arcade and i heard they now have a new hall too that is big where they use for events. The place is ok or check Unilag multipurpose Hall since Unilag is not far from surulere, Hope this helps, |

@ faoni572 & others I also just got my US tourist visa about 2 weeks ago and all i can tell you is that be confident of yourself and try to answer every question to the best of your knowledge. First, the documents you need would depend on whether you're a student or you're working. For me, am an accountant working in a multi-national and i supplied: -A letter from the company confirming me as a staff and stating my annual pay -My Bank Statements for 6 months -My Payslips -Employment letter -Birth Certificates - Any other relevant documents relating to your position. For me, i had my interview in Lagos cos the logistics for Abuja wasn't dere but i was shocked that i was also done in about 3hrs. By 9.45am, my interview was over and i walked out smiling .Whether your interview is in Lagos or Abuja, just answer your questions correctly & confidently and always with an intention to come back to naija. ) |
@ poster, From my own personal experience, i also initially had some problems with re-scheduling because of the way i wrote my given name and and also my confirmation ID which is k-sensitive but after like 4 tries, i was able to successfully re-schedule my appointment, I want to believe you applied through the normal online appointment system right ? because i don't know how the system for the students visa applicants that call the embassy works, ![]() I just re-scheduled my appointment yesterday morning and it went through so i will advise you to take your time in entering your data on the required fields (just as it was entered into on the form that you have) and i think also try doing it when your internet access is fast (like early morning or late at night). Keep trying. Nothing ventured Nothing gained , |

I can tell you from my experience that i was once a stammerer and as a female, it was even more embarrassing for me cos most times I'll be scared of expressing myself in the midst of people so that they don't make jest of me. One way i overcame mine was by being slow to speak and co-ordinate my thoughts properly on what to say before actually saying them out. Thisworked for me a lot and it has helped my elder brother too cos his condition was even worse than mine but he took a cue from me and it worked greatly for him too. ![]() Also try to control your temper and minimise loosing your cool as this always aggravates stammering, ![]() My 2 cents, : |
Try Newton & David for fresh flowers. They are really cool and 'florists of distinction' as they call themselves. 27, Oduduwa way, G.R.A. Ikeja Lagos. In the alternative, try flower stalk. I think they are on Awolowo Road Ikoyi. |
This is really difficult for me but My wife and kids have my heart. Its damn too hilarious and i cant seem to get enough of it. ![]() |
Very nice article; deep and very insightful. Before we get carried away, its also important to note that such advice applies to the guys as well cos we live in a society thats so quick to castigate the female in any circumstances, without understanding the circumstances that led to such actions. ![]() Men too should learn to be fithful to their partners and be sincere in their ways; its not everyone thats looking for a ready-made man; some men are also never contented with their gal and keep skirt-chasing all over town. This is word for girls and guys in the reverse . My 2 cents ![]() |

been on NL since 2007 but i hardly post[/s],
