25Calibre: You are still talking trash? My points are clear cut, maybe you have problems comprehending them.LMAO. . . :d. ;dKeep up the good job. . . The more you make sense & nail the lies, the more they 'struggle' with lame. epistles come-backs hence the needless epistles. . . Need further confirmation, check the number of likes you've had on your posts since the 'lies' started. . . Someone just got owned! LMAO! |
surety: Someone also talked about west houston medical centre. Call and find out their charges. uchetobi: pele dear, that is too expensive for the level of service you received and the comfort you gave up! imagine a new mom spending the night in the lobby! pele dear@Uchetobi. . . .You're right about the Methodist hospital cos I know that the one in houston (there's another one in Sugar Land) charges about $6k approx for everything but up till delivery. The costs of the pediatrician, subsequent appointment visits for the baby, immunization & other tests are excluded from this cost. Please plan well and take enough money oh....lol! A friend of mine had her baby there and it was an overall pleasant experience for her as well. I'll suggest that for people who don't have friends or family to stay with and are on a tight budget, it might be better to use arrangments like El paso or Phoenix as they are set-up to cater to 'out-of-towners' and overall it will probably be cheaper for you. The cost of renting apartments or hotel for like 2/2.5 months is a lot of money. . . .could be as high as $2-$3k excluding additional furnishing you might require. |
Subscribing. . . .very nice ![]() |
@Ace Ventura. . . .Please accept my deepest sympathy. It's such a heart-breaking experience and i can only imagine how you feel right now. . . .By God's grace, this will be the last of such an experience and please support your wife as expectedly, she will be devastated and shaken by the loss. The God that gave you this one will surprise your family again soonest! Stay strong and wishing you God's speed in the recovery process. . .**hugs*** |

Will surely com bk to share our Testimony IJNNice Now that's what am talking about. . . .![]() You see how things can work when you're persistent? You now need to keep following up closely....I'll say after every 3days if you've still not heard from them. . . .Yes oh, it's not too much because those guys receive too many enquiries and so it's very possible to forget yours along the line. Olalere Tosin: Tank u so much dearie..........Hav tried calling all the numbers i saw on d website bt jt telling me its incorrect. Bt ll still keep trynNo wahala. I will say follow the 'VisaOfficer' on that Q & A thread bumper to bumper I know he has told you to e-mail them but if you don't hear from the consulate by say Friday, drop a message on that thread again and ask bug him for what other options are available to you. I also know they have a facility where you can chat with their customer care agents (i think ). Go to their website and check that option and use it as well. You have to find a way of getting through to them. Worst case, go to the embassy and try to see if there's an opportunity to register your complaint as well....you never know. •Consular Section, Lagos (Visas) (Visas and American Citizens Services) 2 Walter Carrington Crescent, Victoria Island, Lagos Telephone: (234)-1-460-3400, 460-3600 (ACS only) Fax: (234)-1-261-2218 •If your inquiry concerns an immigrant visa case, please send your email to LagosIV@state.gov. **I know it's late now, but with the benefit of hindsight, maybe you should not have included your husband yet till you got your visa since at the time of application you were single, so as not to jeopardise your chances. It's because of the rapid increase in sham marriages for immigration purposes that caused all these complications for you** A couple of people i know had to do this by getting theirs first, before filing an application for their spouses after settling in the US** Wishing you the very best. . .Pele, you'll be fine ![]() |
hardeymijuh: @Nikkygal,@Hardeymijuh . . . I already stated it in one of my earlier posts that everything costed me about $6.5k. My doctor fee was about $2500 (they accepted my medical test results from Naija) but i had to do some few additional tests that they dont do in Nigeria and that costed me an additional $300 approx. . . .so approx $2800. WHMC hospital fees was $2200 for natural delivery and additional $1200k for epidural (epidural is optional). The fees for CS was about $3000 then and don't forget these costs are just till delivery and exclude the costs for the paediatrician and other tests to be carried out on the baby post-delivery. You can confirm the hospital fees from WHMC website as well. . . I will avoid being categorical on my total bills because everyone's case is different and so if other medical emergencies or complications spring up, your bill will sky-rocket so nothing is actually cast in stone. Hope this helps..... |
Micah2013: Hello nikkygal, pls can you explain how I can register at West Houston Medical Centre? I intend to give birth to my baby there. My family lives about 2mins away from the hospital. If its the WHMC on Richmond Avenue you are talking about. Have been checking there website but I really can't find anything helpful. How like to know if I need 2 find a Dr first or d hospital has a complete package for Mother and Child. Thanks@Micah . . . .West Houston is on Richmond Avenue. If you want to use the hospital, you need to first get a physician (gynae) that is attached to the hospital and register with him before you can now go ahead and enroll with the hspital as well. You can get a doctor through the WHMC website, under the 'Find a Physician Tab' . . . . Just put in your zip code and obstetrics as a speciality and it will bring out a list of the gynae doctors in that area that you can use. The good thing with WHMC is that a good number of the doctors have their practice on the other side of the hospital building which makes accessing both the doctor and hospital very convenient during appointments. I just did a quick search on the WHMC website for you now and this is what i found below: Physician Office Location Howard L. Schreiber 12000 Westheimer Rd. #208 Houston, TX 77082 Douglas Wohlfahrt 11281 Richmond Suite 112 Houston, TX 77082 Elvis Torres 12000 Richmond Avenue Suite 220 Houston, TX 77082 Mary Jo Zanders 12121 Richmond Ave Ste 104 Houston, TX 77082 Jeanie T. Huynh 12121 Richmond Ave Ste 403 Houston, TX 77082 Stephen E. Guilliams 12121 Richmond Ave Ste 203 Houston, TX 77082 Matti Korhonen 12121 Richmond Ste 215 Houston, TX 77082 Tammy Vu 12121 Richmond Ave, Suite 414 Houston, TX 77082 Magdy W. Rizk 12121 Richmond Ste 317 Houston, TX 77082 100% Core La 12121 Richmond Ave Ste 315 Houston, TX 77082 I will say narrow your search down to doctors that have their practice on Richmond Avenue because of its proximity to the hospital for ease of registration and appointments. Just contact the doctors via e-mail, state your circumstances and describe yourself as a 'self-paying patient (cash)'. . . . they'll give you their terms and you'll choose one eventually and secure an appointment on your arrival. ***Please i've said it before on this thread, let me reiterate 'Google is your friend'. Please let's take time to search out information. This thread serves a platform to exchange information but overall our individual circumstances differ so it's important we take time out to use the internet and search out more detailed information to suit your need. This will usually unearth lots of hidden stuff that others that went before you might not know.*** |
I'll advise to send them an e-mail EVERY DAY from today with your case number & details & headline it URGENT!!! Then give aa background to your case....MAke sure you mail them daily and include the Sept timeline there so that they can treat urgently! Also go on the US embassy website in Nigeria & get their phone numbers and start calling those numbers like crazy. Put them on permanent speed dial.....becos you have only until sept 30 to collect your visa after which you've lost your chance! My dear be agressive oh! So you don't miss out on this. Wish you the very best.... |
daisyjo: @K4KENNY,over time i have come to respect a mother's power or intuition. When a mum thinks there is something about her child, usually, there is.I would advice that you get him assessed and right away start addressing the issues you are identifying.Aggression and self injurious behaviors such as head banging are major red flags.I have attached an assessment form here which would give you an idea but PLEASE don't be quick to label your child as several tools will be used to determine if he is on the spectrum or not. Also, accurate diagnosis cant be made until he is 3 years old but you need not wait.Clean out his diet, help him eat healthy, socialize with his peers. Although quite difficult be sure to let him know that aggressive behaviors and tantrums are unacceptable behaviors.@Tayo576. . .I think the advice from daisy up there to Kenny also applies to you. Please trust your intuition and try looking for a speech therapist for your son. You can try mailing daisy (her e-mail is up there) on ideas how you can help stimiulate his interest in talking and also how you an overcome these speech development delays. I know it won't be automatic, but gradually you'll see a remarkable improvement. As for his delayed walking, try visiting other paediatricians for a 2nd/3rd opinion. A mother's intuition is hardly wrong. . . .you know your son and youunderstand him better than any one else. Kindly start seeking help quickly as it's always better to tackle these delays at an early stage than when they are much older. Wishing you the very best . . . . .Good luck! |
tobiojo2002: I completely agree they are not good with the circumcision thing, My son's was not done well and i 'm still batteling a ridiculous bill, and i dont even want them touching him again as they may want to increase the charges, i will have to re-do the circumcision when i get back to Nigeria.@Tobiojo. . . It will be nice to let us know which hospital you used in New york and how much you were eventually billed for both doc+hosp.delivery . This will be of immense benefit to the people looking around the New york/New jersey axis. . . . |
Mrs Bee: Jesus Christ who said that? One of the reason why u going to America is to ensure you have the best health care delivery, so why would a country who has got the best care system not be good with circumcisions, that's a fallacy my dear. What's your POE as I didn't have any issues, them even giving me preferential treatment of helping with my luggage etc, despite d fact I tried hard to conceal my pregnancy under my dress top I still they show, first the way u walk gives you away, your swollen face and feet after d long ass flight too gives you away. There s notin to hide except if you aren't due soon. Cost I flew in at 35 weeks and my belly is a small one but still pple noticed. Just be real and say the truth. I was stamped 7months sept- march. Some guy walked up to me was asking questions if I was carrying gala, garri, food substances I said nope that I ain't craving for any of those and he let me go without searching.@Mrs Bee good to know you landed safe & sound. . . I have a colleague that also had her baby in the US & he was circumcised but it wasn't done properly and they had to come and re-do it in Nigeria. She was also told the same thing about circumciosion not being properly done over there. A lot of people later recommended that the Jewish people are the best at it and next time she should get them to do the circumcision.@Nenih try using google. . . . Most times people always wait to get direct info. from others which is okay however, you could get even better deals just by doing some extra research yourself. Look for hospitals in the dallas/arlington area and try contacting them via phone calls or e-mails. . .you'll probably get some good info and deals. A friend of mine got a hospital like that around arlington but she's not aaround now, i'll have gotten the infor from her for you. Wishing you the very best!!! Honestly, this thread is soooooo informative ehn. . . . lol! Am sure some 'guests' have their mats spread on this thread, just soaking up all the info. . . ![]() |
uchetobi: @Nikkygal..I don't know, you are probably right as I don't know anyone that was issued a 3 month visaYes i had my baby in houston. . . I used West Houston Medical centre! Same hospital walmart talked about on this thread earlier. There are other hospitals you could use in that axis though. . .like Oakbend hospital which is around Richmond, Methodist women's hospital etc and all these still charge within the $5k-6.5k range all inclusive up till delivery (doctor+hospital) as i know people who have had their babies there. Please take note that the costs for the paediatrician and other tests for the baby post-delivery are not included in this estimate. |
uchetobi: renewal should not be a problem for you with this new dropbox system, just make sure you pay your bills completely and stay away from Medicaid! if you don't have enough money to pay, ask for a payment plan that allows you pay instalmentally (the down side is that this may include interest and will end up being far more expensive)@Uchetobi . . Am not sure someone with a 3-month validity visa qualifies for the drop-box system. I stand to be corrected though but to the best of my knowledge, you're only qualified for dropbox if you're renewing a full 2-yr validity visa. Otherwise, you're back to one-on-one interviews. Abeg someone should correct me if am wrong oh, before am accused of spreading false information. . . ![]() |
surety: Hello all, dis trend has been so educative,I have learnt a lot, my own situation is dat I applied for the visa in july and the consular issued me a 3months visa, she asked if I was pregnant and I said no of which I lied, because I didn't get all d enlightenment I have now...I had so much fears as to what to expect at POE but God made it all simple,I was given 6months by CBP...my cousin applied for the 'wic' benefit for me,which started immediately I got in aug. And I already applied for chips which am expecting their response...am in houston but all the info I got scares me a lot about renewal of the visa wen next I want to apply...@Surety...$2500 is too small to cover all your birthing/ medical expenses in the US for the newborn. . . . In addition, you need to be sure of whatever program your cousin is applying for you (ie WIC program or chips whatever) because am not sure you're entitled to anything since you're neither a US legal resident nor citizen. This could work against you subsequently when you're applying for a visa renewal because they will find out eventually. On your next visa renewal, they'll ask you for details about your kids in the visa form (DOB,place of birth etc), which you're expected to fill and that is what might probably give you away. The good thing is that you're in houston and it is fairly cheaper for birthing than a whole lot of other places. . . . You should have taken at least $5-6k along. Anyway, i wish you the very best and pray it all works out well for you eventually. |
Rexwoods: Hello everyone. Baptist medical center in saint Louis , Missouri charges $1,500 for a 24hr stay after delivery, 2,100 for 48hrs.... Epidural $800 and you can get a doctor for $2,450, the doctor will refund $900 after delivery, pediatrics is &210. My friend had her baby in this hospital , total was about $4,060. I plan to go there too. I called the hospital and they confirmed the price for the hospital stay so long has you pay 30 days to your EDD. +13149965000. |

Waoh waoh waoh!!!! Fantastic news. . . . . . Congrats Micah 2013!!! The Lord has really turned your sorrow into dancing, he has put your enemies to shame Wishing you a blissful and easy 9 months. By God's grace we shall have cause to laugh till the very end. . . May God deliver us from evil family members. . . hmmnnn! Am sure you're much wiser now. . . . lol! ![]() All the best dear and we'll keep praying for you. |
Hmmnn. . . interesting discourse here! Been following this thread for a while and the CBP part of the gist really got my attention. . ![]() Now let me contribute based on my experience. I am also a frequent traveller to the US (at least for the past 8yrs) & I had my baby there as well early this year. On my 1st trip to the US, I was issued a 3-month visa with an annotation stating I needed just 3-weeks for a vacation. At the POE, I was given a 1-month stay! . . . which was fine by me anyway, since I was just visiting. . . . . Now the catch is that having a 3-month visa already kind of 'connotes' a brief stay & so normally, It might not necessarily grant you a 6-month stay pn your I-94 card. I fully agree with dancewith here as I am privy to a lot of preggy women that overstayed their I-94 period and are having issues renewing their visas now. Infact, a friend's wife was given 2-weeks at the POE. . . Lol! Becos she said she came for a vacation, yet they could see she was heavily preggers. Well, she still waited to have her baby sha & is trying to sort out her wahala now. Others I know were even removed entirely at the POE just for not being honest with their intentions. Anyway, if you have issues with a short stay on your I-94, I suggest you either return to Naija within the specified period or use an immigration lawyer to extend it. I know pple who have used this route as well. @Bettymafy, you said that the lady wasn't asked directly if she was going to have her baby or if was preggers. . . Well, the truth is that she should have given the info. upfront! I was also just asked by the CO if I was going to seek any medical aid while in the US & I told him NO but I am pregnant, I plan to have my baby there & have made the necessary arrangements. He didn't even ask to see my papers sef, he just smiled, thanked me for my honesty & gave me my visa. . . . Shikena! Am mobile. . . .I don tire to type! Hope this helps someone sha. . . . |
Hello house. . . I'll like to thank all the contributors and gurus on this thread for the wealth of information being posted here. I've been a silent . I referred her to this thread and made her go through it from Part 1 coupled with several mock interviews to ensure all goes well. . . .![]() I haven't gotten the full details yet and i will try to post it once i do. Basically, she was interviewed by an African American lady and she was asked what she's currently doing, her GRE scores and about her sponsor. Thanks so much everyone. . . . .you guys are doing a great job here!!! Amazing stuff producing results. . . .**dancing alingo** |
bettymafy: Peace, u are such a great woman! Thanks alot for this info. The hotel price is very reasonable. Didn't know one could get something within that range. I hope their services wasn't bad.Betty sorry about not getting adequate responses but you need to understand that not everyone went through the doctoresparati route. I stayed with Family when i got to the US (in Texas) and so am not familiar with accommodation or lodging costs. My hospital costs totalled about $7500k (including epdural of $1,200) in all and this included costs for the baby (pediatrician's visits)as well as the requisite tests after delivery. The hospital allowed me to bring my test results from Nigeria . . . .so that saved me A LOT of money. I just did about 2-3 additional lab tests there that they do not usually conduct in Naija before delivery and this costed me about $275 bucks. Bottom line is that, it's the city you'll have your baby that will determine the costs of delivery and the overall cost of your trip. Air fare should be about 300-350k max. . . . .I travelled with Air france and it was during the peak period, so my ticket was almost 300k. Since i was staying with family, i got support with the baby and i didn't need to get a nanny or any additional help. Hope this helps. . . .All the best! |
omonikiba: Yeeeeeaaaaahhhhh, @Nikkygal, see you oooo, since you announced your bfp you no post again, oya no pip jor, say something.Omonikiba. . . . . .You caught me red-handed today. . .lol! Am so sorry, i have not posted for a long while on this thread. I still follow this thread very actively but i just preferred to stay quiet since i din't want it to seem like i was rejoicing while others were still 'waiting'. I pray the Lord answers all the mothers on this thread this month. The pain of TTC is un-imaginable and soooooooo exasperating. I really feel for MamaT at this time and i pray God condsoles her with her triplets and heals her home. To all the ladies in the house, keep your head up. . . . .Joy cometh!!! |
Ok... |
bettymafy: i dont think i understand your last paragraph. could u expantiate please? What i meant was that the consular said ' I would have been refused a visa the next time i come to renew my visa after having the baby. . . . Since if i had lied that i wasn't preganant at the time of obtaining the visa, when i come to renew, they will find out that i had a baby in the US during that time and so refuse me a visa renewal. |
( ringofGod: hi guys... any help needed... my hubby and i have an interview at the us embassy really soon... i want to go give birth there... should we say this when they ask.. even though we mentioned nothing about it in our application? sweetg: Sorry about the typo. She lied and dey discovered she was pregnant. No mater how u hide the pregnacy. If u scale tru nw, wen u want to renew u will have he problem. I know ppl with such problem. It is Legal to have ur child in d state. Just convince them you will pay simple. Dey deny ppl once dey suspect u won't pay or ur job doesn't pay much. Am talking from experience.GBAM!!! @Ring of God, i advise you to speak the truth and tell the consular your intention of having your baby in the US . . . I also did same and it worked out well for me as well. I told him i was pregnant at the interview, even though he didnt know. . . .he just smiled & commended me that i was the 1st person he's interviewed that has been so honest and strightforward. Well, i also told him that the worst that could happen was that he would deny me a visa and i would prefer that, than to get a visa on the pretext that am not pregnant then get turned back at the port of entry in the US based on falsified information. I also know a couple of people that this has happened too. . . ![]() The consular officer told me that he would have given me the visa since i had fulfilled all the requirements and i was a frequent traveller to the US. . .BUT he would have refused me at my NEXT visa renewal appointment. . >: |
Moderators, please help me put this topic on front page. . . . FRONT PAGE PLEASE!!! https://www.nairaland.com/1298977/invest-residential-property-surrounded-churches |
Hmmmmn!!! Please keep the comments coming. . . . ![]() |
Hello Nlers. My husband and I are actually on the look out to buy a good property on the Mainland (Lagos) and it's honestly been very frustrating especially as it seems land on the Mainland is practically getting extinct (at least in the areas within our budget). Now the issue is we have seen a fairly okay property that's within our budget but is sandwiched between 4 churches within a 100m radius. . . . We intend living in the property if we buy it and there's a church next door, another two churches in the building directly opposite the property and another one like 100m down the street. . . . .AH! Am already thinking of all the loudspeaker wahala, endless weekly vigils, parking issues etc and am discouraged. So am thinking, if you were in my shoes, would you go for it? P.S.- Please this was not posted to slight either the christians or muslims!!! Kindly read/respond to this post from a commercial or investor's point of view only. Thank you! |
