ABUkAkA: Hello, have just been given an admission to study Master prog (Electrical Engr) University of Duisburg-Essen and also to study German Lag. in the same university.........I have no German Knowledge, will that affect my chances of getting a German visa in Nigeria huh?
If your program is entirely taught in English language, you have no problem.

I am sure you know you can use the account opening request slip for the interview.
And, you did not open any account 2weeks ago, you submitted an account opening form 2weeks ago.

Besides, you cannot transfer if the A/C number doesn't match the name.

holyboss: what if I apply with my O level result? Will that b accepted?
So, O'level is higher than OND? Do not take us back to kindergarten.
What Eke40seven told you is the real deal.
No spamming please!

rauly: Yeah,he has transferred the required fund. You say one month is still within the waiting time?
Yes. And he should forward the evidence of the transferred fund to the visa section...if he hasn't. The delay however, could be from the foreign office. No panic.
When is he due for enrollment?
TravelRe: German Embassy And Visa by Nimakor: 10:37pm On Aug 11, 2014
rauly: Hello house, please my brother applied for a student visa and he has been interviewed but he was told that he would be contacted. It's getting to a month and he has not gotten a response. What can he do?
Has he transfered the required fund? Or did he use a sponsorship letter?
In any case, one month is well within the waiting time.

igwejay: please can i use one recommendation letter for all the schools that i will be applying to
You may, if the programs are exactly the same and no particular school's information is written on it.

liftmeGod: Pls people in the house , can we use A level cambridge result for admission to bsc in germany
Hey Kumpel! You have been spamming this thread for more than a year now. Recycling same old stuff...from HND to OND to Cambridge A level.
You have been told what is required and accepted...if you have HND (as you claimed) what is stopping you!
Abeg, just quit already!

abiegirl: Oh really! You switching courses? Plan to leave before 25th
Yes, that's a strong possibility...I'm in talks with them now. If they would grant me a higher semester transfer...i will 'jump ship'. I will be going to Bonn in the mean time.
How are the flight rates at the moment, have you booked?

Eke40seven: Yeah salutes bro,
I get what you mean and I agree with you. The plan will be far from feasible taking your situation and status into context and neither will it be for me. However, from his point of view, someone with only an OND or only SSCE it could be a viable option. Also considering the fact that its taking ASUP like forever to call off the strike (or have they? am not sure). The only feasible or the fastest option they may have in gaining admission will be through NOUN even if its a year.
I won't know if there are faster options through Abitur or student colleges in Germany though.
May be someone who used that means could help him out.
I couldnt get some of your 'gist' (typo, I guess?)
Yes, a one-year program at Noun would strengthen his position, and would be cost-effective too.
It would require commitment and patience thou.
TravelRe: German Embassy And Visa by Nimakor: 12:54pm On Aug 07, 2014
ops84: I think it will be very easier to get admission in NOUN and get the 100level result/transcript as required instead of going through the hassle of jamb or spending two years in a polytechnic b4 be able to apply fr his/ her Bsc in germany.
Sure! It's a no brainer! Although, if you had put it less vaguely...I would have saved myself from the disproportionate comment.
Thanks for the clarity, though.
TravelRe: German Embassy And Visa by Nimakor: 12:10pm On Aug 07, 2014
Eke40seven: Howdy bro,
I think the relative ease of getting admission through NOUN may have prompted his i.e. ops84, choice of advice (guessing though). If that's the case, then am compelled to agree with him.
He can clear himself though.
Mir geht's gut. Und dir?

Well, would getting admitted (buying the NOUN form that is) be equal to enrollment + course registration + TMAs + Examinations for two semesters?
Lest I forget, the date of the purchase will be there!
I'm no wet blanket (far from it), but this's not rocket science. It's not gonna add up!
However, if it has worked, it could it still work.
TravelRe: German Embassy And Visa by Nimakor: 10:45am On Aug 07, 2014
ops84: Higher National Diploma result.
Or 100level university results/transcript.

Obtain National Open University form, I think that one will really help.

Plus other requirements like IELTS or TOEFL,German Lang prof(if applicable) etc.
NOUN form? For what exactly?

You may have problem rescheduling...on time or at all. I really do not know how hard and fast the rule is when one doesn't show up.
Get well first, then...maybe go there with a doctor's report.
Gute Besserung!

joesandy: and what do u mean by homework?
If a test of english facility is compulsory, then it probably is. Try and meet the requiements if you so want to go there.

joesandy: i think they need tofel as their requirement but i don't have that now. but my secondary and high school was in English don't know weather am on a safe side for them?
I'm afraid you are not. Do your homework and everything will fall in place.

futurewise11: you could miss your friend, the city and probably your school.....please note: you will have to renew your resident permit any time you change school because its issue against the school you intend to attend.the new school admission letter and your bank statement is the decider.

Please come with Nigeria driving license if possible.
Lol. Real talk!
Danke vielmals!
TravelRe: German Embassy And Visa by Nimakor: 10:57pm On Aug 03, 2014
futurewise11: Its very possible.take all your new document to your new school and explain to them.....send an email to your old school of your plan...take both your prefered school and block account details to unlock your block account.you can operate it from any branch.
Go to foriegners office of your prefered school to extend your resident permit and also get your work permit.

it might be cumbersome for u since you are new in the system and you cant even speak the language.moreover why not spend one semester and transfer all your credit later.mind you theres a limited amount of time you can change/transfer school in germany depending on states eg in baden wuttenburg its only 2 times and you have to finish your bsc within 5 years...
Hmm. Schoen!
However, how much 'setback' (if any) could one incur by moving to another school...say after one semester...e.g the tranfer to a higher semester? How does it work (generally)?
TravelRe: German Embassy And Visa by Nimakor:
Teflon1: Thanks @eke...this was exactly how i thought is should be but some previous posts here suggests that my record & info. would be with the initial school city in Germany and i am expected to arrive in dat particular city for neccessary registrations & i can't just move over to another city like dat.

& someone infact said one had to register in dat city & spend like a semester in dat school b4 moving to another school if one wants to...

anymore ideas please, I would really appreciate any.
Thanks.
I once asked a prospective school this and I was told to deal with the embassy in 'your country'. So, a yes from them is much like a rubberstamp.

shuni05: Thanks @Nimakor, I know in Nigeria they don't but I thought it would be much easier over here cos those are the only requirements with a Police clearance and your blocked account (No waec, birth certificate, interview e.t.c) coupled with the fact that u can get schedule an appointment the next day.

I was at the embassy for the blocked account on Friday and asked about the other documents, all they could say was to contact my schools international center for help with the docs and the response from those ones takes like forever.

Am hoping our Big bosses In Germo can help out.

Thanks
You are welcome!
Yes, That's what I alluded to(the guys already in Deutschland). But, in the mean time, you could still write to your int'l center.
It is clearly different over there in SA, but ours is much easier.
TravelRe: German Embassy And Visa by Nimakor: 1:16pm On Aug 03, 2014
shuni05: As required for a study Visa by the German embassy am applying from (Cape Town), they need me to provide ;

1.Proof of health insurance valid from date of arrival and for the duration of stay in Germany (German Statutory/National or private health insurance).

2.Proof of accommodation (Rental agreement/Student hostel, etc.)

- I will like an advice on which Health insurance I should go for Mawista or AOK and if its possible to take out the insurance from here.
- As regarding the accommodation , I contacted the studentenwerk and already applied but they cannot guarantee availability of accommodation. Is there any other way to take out a rental agreement from here.

Thank you
Nigerians are not mandated to take out either of the above before visa approval.
However, those in Germany might have a say, although the modalities may differ (considering that you are offshore).
For all intents and purposes, they are hugely difficult, but if they must be met, I believe the Embassy in SA would have a way out.
Viel Glueck!

If Iberia could allow for a reasonably-charged-second 23kg, it would be awesome.
