Crime › Re: Okada Riders Burn Minna FRSC Office Over Rumoured Death Of Motorcyclist by Nitah1: 2:54pm On Mar 21, 2020 |
Godnifemi: Whoever wrote this post, doesn't really know what happened. Firstly, I'll like to correct some mistakes, the event didn't take place in Minna but in Bida another local government in Niger state. Also, government officials were there when this destruction was going on but they refused to calm tension, instead they were guarding the zenith beside the FRSC office. National orientation office wasn't touched neither was it even close to the office destroyed. I don't even think there's any office like that in Bida. FRSC has been a pain in the neck for many people in that vicinity because of the way they man handle bike men and even motorist, I've been a victim of them, so trust me of what I'm saying. Unnecessary offense will be meted on you and you will be surprised, even soldiers around said, they deserve what they got because FRSC in Bida, has turned themselves to doing the work of VIO, Police, civil defense etc to the extent that they don't respect anyone except you gt money. I am not saying what was done is right but I think they deserve what they got. Both parties are lying about their report, both bikeman n passenger died. If FRSC said they didn't cause the death or accident so who did. Also the chairman, was lying if he actually made such statements because all the people at the burning or burnt office are all NUPE and Bida is dominated by NUPE Oga but that is minna office na,I also live in minna. |

oz4real83: As developed as Italy, USA and many other countries are, they are still finding it difficult to contain the virus how much more under-developed Nigeria , and yet, the Nigerian govt was quiet to the plea of many Nigerians that all our borders should be closed until the virus is contained. It is when the virus has finally entered the country before the govt decided to listen to the plea of the people. May God continue to protect us from these sort of leaders we have in Nigeria. May their souls rest in peace. Yet some people said there is no God........there is God he can wipe out us all in a minute. |

VBCampaign: How A Nigerian Saved Me From Cold And Hunger In Berlin By Deji Yesufu
Coronavirus, Cancelled Flights and the Appearing of an Angel
I was billed to leave Germany on Saturday morning. Our flight with Turkish Airlines was to leave Germany at 6:55am. By 6:30am there was nobody in sight at the Turkish Airlines boarding corner of the Airport.
“What’s happening”, was the expression written on everyone’s face.
A few minutes later, the people to check us in announced: Turkey has barred all foreigners from coming into their country and this would include those of us transiting through the country.
“What happened?” We asked.
Coronavirus.
This announcement was also coinciding with Donald Trump’s speech that had barred most Europeans from entering the USA.
We were told that their plane could only carry their own nationals. The rest of us were on our own.
Ha!
A lady beside me was already in tears. Me? Confused. How do I continue in this horrendous cold of Germany? What do I eat; where will one sleep; and most importantly, how does one return to Nigeria? Those were the questions on my mind when I approached one of the guys by the ticket counter and asked… He referred me to Turkish Airlines enquires desk.
By the time I got there, the place was filled with people. Everyone was asking the same question: how do we leave Germany?
At first we were told we would be refunded our monies. But, thankfully, there was another policy somersault: we would all be placed in different airlines back to our destinations – I got Airfrance. That’s the good news, which should always come first. The bad news: the earliest flight I could get was Sunday, 6am. I must wait out another 24 hours in Berlin!
My colleague was already feeling unwell. We would discover later that the cold had gotten into his chest and another two hours outside would have been sure pneumonia.
My head started to work. I remembered that I had put out a post on Facebook talking about my visit to Berlin. One person, only one o, got in touch with me privately, saying that he lives in Berlin and it would be a pleasure to meet me. That my writing inspires him. His name: Taiwo Arowoyele. I sent him a PM saying in short: “Help!”
He sent us an address not too from the airport, and in a few minutes we where in this God-sent man’s living room, sipping hot tea. My colleague drank four cups before he could recover himself.
Taiwo Arowoyele is a Nigerian living in Berlin and having trained as a Social Worker in Lithuania, he returned to Berlin to work. He also does some business by the side. Taiwo is not wealthy but he has heart large enough to share.
Taiwo settles us into a room and gave us out first and only taste of rice in Berlin. He served it with tough chicken and some good “shaki”. We just kept saying thank you.
Later in the day, Taiwo took us out to see downtown Berlin. We took the subway, branched at an eatery to munch on chips and chicken, and then we went around the city center taking pictures. It was fun. And the disappointment of the cancelled flight soon faded away. In fact I was thankful for missing that flight. For then I might not have met this angel.
Early Sunday morning, Taiwo called a taxi for us and we got to the airport early enough to meet our flight.
Taiwo had begun to follow my writing on Facebook after watching my video on tithing (it appears to me that a lot more Nigerians abroad saw that video). It is the same time Taiwo that God sent as help to us. Those of you who vilify Facebook – see how it has helped me . As I type this, I am in Paris awaiting my transit flight to Lagos.
This is what Coronavirus has done to us o… but with this disappointment came a blessing. I return to Nigeria by the grace of God to a sure two weeks quarantine.
Shallom.

Politics › Tiv Youths Organisation Give Herdsmen 48hrs To Leave Benue State. by Nitah1(op): 3:00pm On Mar 08, 2020 |
This is as the result of the recent killing of farmers in March 8, 2020 Cephas Iorhemen Makurdi.
Apparently worried by the continued attacks and killing of innocent people of the state, the national leadership of the Tiv Youth Organisation (TYO) on Saturday urged Benue youths of Tiv extraction to resort to self-defence to checkmate rising cases of attacks and killings. Besides, the organisation has given the nomadic herders “48 hours to relocate from the state and threatened that any of them seen upon the expiration of the ultimatum shall be out rightly eliminated.” National President-elect of the organisation, Mr. Timothy Hembaor disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists in Makurdi, the state capital. Hembaor expressed grief that after concerted efforts by the TYO with the aim to achieving peace, the herdsmen had continued to launch their heinous acts against unsuspecting Tiv farmers which it noted has made the call for self-help inevitable. “The Tiv Youth Organisation (TYO), urges Tiv Youth to as a matter of urgency embark on self-defence following rising cases of attacks on their communities by Fulani terrorists in recent days,” he said. He regretted the gruesome murder of about 10 persons in Kwande Local Government Area by the marauding killer herdsmen as well as at Mbawa in Guma Local Government Area where the wife of a monarch and his six in-laws were raped by the herders. Hembaor among other things said: “The Tiv in Benue State, and elsewhere, have a right, same as every other human being, to life and liberty, and shall defend that life with all means available to him, where the statutory arm of organised human society fails to afford them security”. “That the Tiv are entitled to statutory rights over the lands of the Benue Trough where they have lawfully dwelt and earned a living from, these past three centuries, and have been so recognised by human laws. “That the Tiv will resist with all means at their disposal, the confiscation of their land and transmutation of same into grazing areas for the Fulani and their cattle. “In essence, the Tiv are saying; ‘No to grazing areas of whatever sort in Tivland’. “That the Tiv will no longer consider the Fulani as friendly visitors, coming and going for peaceful purposes, but shall see them for what they really are, enemies intent on the total destruction of the Tiv nation, and the confiscation of Tiv land.” He called on President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene in the attacks and halt the killings of the people to avoid similar reprisals. The TYO President vowed that the Tiv youth shall never succumb to the threat of the Myetti Allah or cede any land for cattle colonies. The TYO helmsman maintained that it has the capacity of carrying out her threat and said any attempt by the Federal Government through security agencies which he said had failed to protect the Tiv people, to thwart her efforts in protecting her land from Fulani grabbers will not be taken lightly. |
