Well, I am not saying that they are the best. This thing is simple, it just doesn’t make sense to write both of them off, just like that.

We need a well coached and managed defence. There are no ready made defenders out there, you have to manage the ones you have, find a style that works and coach them accordingly.

Loss of concentration, I believe that’s the issue. The defence just switches off a times in the name of offside traps and zonal marking/defending. Each defender would rather ball watch and hope that their colleagues are available to make clearances and stuffs.

We need to adopt a better system, also, find a way to improve our defenders positioning. This is clearly a poorly coached defence. De Gea too would rather stay instead of coming out to clear the ball.

But we operated a high line last season too, against small teams, of course we could not create chances/break down their defences easily, but we dominated play against small teams (re: possession).

So, that argument does not make sense.

Still trying to understand why our defence did very well last season, but has suddenly become shyte in less than 1 year.

Stones, Ake etc are average players ffs.
