ayox2003: It depends on the type of job you wanna do in telecoms and the type of telco firm.

An operator like MTN/Etisalat is different from a Vendor like Huawei/Alcatel/Ericsson. So is their pay.

Segun Agbetusin, the first certified Programme manager in Nigeria works with Alcatel and he's well paid. While Huawei is a stingy chinese coy where there are hidden agendas.

Etisalat is also a cashpot for engineers, middle-level managers and so on. So Nitrogen, it depends on the department and the coy.

Frawzey
Yap, I know that was why I said 'for entry level', and averaging it, it can still be compared with that of banking industry and the FMCGs coys.

BTW, long time bros, that binary of a thing still interests me o.

Subtext: All these Telecoms!, Telecoms!! Do they really pay that well? I don't think so oh. I mean except for a few highly skilled positions where the employess actually negotiate their salaries regularly, the rest are placed on a structure very much comparable to the average bank.

@OP apart from the Oil n Gas Industry, there are a number of other firms with maybe only one or two local facilities in Nigeria (Lagos, Abuja, Port et al) which very few people know about that pay quite well. Some of these can be found in Project mangaement, Advertising, Consulting and a few others. They are not always very known. Then there are FMCG that also pay well like P&G, Unilever, Nestle etc.
I think for entry level, its almost the same with banks and telecom coys.

Whah! I think you are wrong, the thing is when there is an element of truth in what we say, people tend to take that as harshness and brutality/trying to pave way/boycott somethings, which is completely wrong. Also it depends on those at the receiving end, perhaps the way each of those at the receiving end take things, for some, they don't care, while most actually do.

I don't actually know, but if it is that of his recent posts, I think its no biggy.

Enjoy!!

Culture › Re: Do You Believe In Gender Equality? If Yes/no, Why? by nitrogen(m): 2:11pm On Dec 08, 2012
Hello, it is not about gender equality but gender equity, we are not the same, men are superior beings, just that women have the equal right to a lot as men have too, or if they do not, then at least 35%, and that is the equity we are talking about.

Presently, it is being worked upon, the constitution has the policy already but it hasn't been implemented in all it's ramifications, but by God's grace, when the next review of the constitution takes place, something would have been/will be done about it.

NB: It isn't about equality, it is about equity.
LAIR 101... Which hospital are you talking about or it has no name? The best government owned hospital in Ghana is KORLEBU and it is a death trap. Dozens of people die in this korlebu everyday. It is this place where the doctors are paid peanuts and they doctors have been selling SPERMS to meet ends needs. Do a little google search if you doubt me.

A Ghanaian friend had an accident last month and was rushed to Korlbu, when he woke up the next day he mandated the doctors to move him to a private hospital. I asked why the sudden decision, he said because he know 7 peoplke that went to korlebu for surgery and never came out alive. Even when my wife was carrying my first son I told her to go to Korlebu she refused and said unless i want her dead. The place is smelling like a mortuary, the buildings are too old and dirty.

This Petrodollar is a typical lair, I have warned him/her to stop spreading lies on NL when am around bc i know Ghana inside out. Not long ago this same fool was on nairaland to boast about Ghana having health insurance bla bla bla. TODAY MOST HOSPITALS IN GHANA INCLUDING THE BIGGEST GOVERNMENT HOSPITALS LIKE KORLEBU DO NOT ACCEPT THIS HEALTH INSURANCE.

I was wondering which part of ghana that has the good road network hes talkin about? Accra is a slum, there is no world class facility anywhere in Ghana. All things in ghana are third world. Its rare to see a good building in Ghana. The povery level in ghana will surface the moment you land in their airport. if you are Complaining about MMIA then you need to see kotoka airport.

Needless to waste my time on these clowns. Ghana is 100 years behind Nigerian in development. Rivers State of Nigeria is far more developed than Ghana. Rivers state has many universities, 2 standard airports (ghana has one 1), 2 standard seaports, one oil refinery and one petrochemical company. In Port Harcourt you will see multi million dollar mansions, in PHC the tallest hotel (Hotel Presidential) is 14 stories high, the tallest hotel in Ghana is 6 stories. The tallest STATE government building in Port Harcourt is 16 stories high, THE TALLEST GOVERNMENT BUILDING IN GHANA IS 8 STORIES. These are FACTS, so pls my poor Ghana inlaws, kindly crawl back to the whole where you came from.
Easy now, you are really digging things out here. You want to see them ghanaians with placards at their govt house tomorrow morning? ABEG O.

uboma: The truth is that ur friend Ben is impersonating u and whatever he does will affect ur reputation and image because it is ur credentials he is using to work with and not his. If i were u, i wud cal him one on one and let the cat out of the bag. Make him know that u are aware of his shady deals and express ur disappointment for doing it without ur consent. Give him time say max of 2weeks to right the wrong and if he doesn't, pls report the matter to the Police. You cant afford to be sentimental or emotional over this issue because ur success in the future is at stake.
The fear is that, this guy might do something crazy when he knows that the op is aware of it, esp. if he is the wicked and desperate type, (you should know what I mean) and that can be disastrous on the op.

I'll like to say that the op should be careful here. He could report to an appropriate authority, so they take it up. It is like this, they (the authority) can go do an adhoc checking of credentials of employees in that agency, thereby leading to the discovery of that and it is rectified without the guy's knowledge of the op's involvement.
In all, he(the op) should be careful.

NB: the word 'appropriate' that precedes 'authority' is important.

Romance › Re: The Kind Of Guy That Women Find Attractive? by nitrogen(m): 6:44pm On Dec 02, 2012
Sagamite: Nothing sexist about it.

Although I am sexist. ..............(If your definition of sexist is the recognition of the difference between a man and a woman). I am fully sexist to the bone.

You are right that physical attractiveness attracts women to men but you are wrong if you think it is dominant at pulling women. Women are programmed to take longer when selecting a mating partner because biological they need to be more selective in the use of their reproductive wealth i.e. eggs. Women have about 400 which they release almost every 28 days or so till they reach menopause. Evolutionarily, they are programmed to be attracted to men who they are positively inclined to believe is of good health and can be a provider for an offspring, so that they are not wasting one of their precious few 400 eggs. Men on the other hand, at each glorious, beautiful, climatic, graceful, intense, body-shaking, energy-sapping burst, have about 300m muthafcking Michael Phelps wannabe swimmers in their spermatozoa competing to reach the end and be the champion. That is why men can be more wasteful and are quicker to select female mating partners. I am sure I can count up to 40 NL girls if I meet right now, I would be happy to bend them over at the back of my car and be generous with my 300m yoruba mini-warriors in 15-minute wonder session with Saga. You will not be able to list up to 40, if any at all, of NL guys you want to waste any of your less than 350 remaining eggs (guessing you are at least over 16) until at least you get more time to assess them. I am sure it is not only because I am more naturally generous than you, it is also because of science, baby.

So as I was saying, women take longer to make a decision, that is why although women can be attracted to a man, that does not mean they are keen to sleep with him. If I am attracted to a woman, and she is sane, I will fokasibe if she agrees to split. I know I am a slight exception because I am a professional ashawo but it really applies to almost all men. Our decision is heavily based on the attraction only because we are rich enough to be generous and philantropic. Women cannot afford to be that generous and because women take longer to make a decision, guys with the ability to engage manipulation (displaying indicators of wealth, intelligence, dominance, demonstrations of affection, etc) still have and have a better chance than a guy with mere physique because they are more likely to pass the free-egg assessment test that follows attraction.

Yours sincerely,

Sagamu International.
Chai!!! This bros don kolo. grin grin grin grin
