Celebrities / It's An Illuminati Ritual - Vic O Laments Not Winning A Grammy by NJPot(m): 5:52pm On May 03, 2016

Vic O has strong words for the Organizers of the Grammys.

"I will never get the recognition I deserve on the World Stage" he lamented.'

"Explain to me why I wasn't nominated for a Grammy after dropping the Hottest diss track in the game last year". Of course, he was referring to his hit diss track directed to Drake and Meek Mill in the heat of their online beef.

"That song is better than all the songs that were nominated. Who is Kendrick Lawal? Who is cole? They are not even on my level"

"Anyway, I've always know the Grammys is an Illuminati event, and I'm a Child of God, so in the end I don't care".

While many may consider his words nonsensical, but the clamor for a Nigerian to win a Grammy is at an all time high. While it has eluded greats like King Sunny Ade, Fela and Ebenezer Obey; and contemporaries like 9ice and Skales have promised (and failed) to bring home Grammys, many of the current crop of Nigerian acts have potential to bring home the gong. But with the overty Western influence on their music, that may never happen.

Vic O says he would "africanise" his music in order to ensure he gets a grammy nod.

Expect an Efik Mixtape from the rapper in the nearest future.

It is about a year now since President Muhammadu Buhari parked into the Aso Rock as the new president of Nigeria after Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan failed the presidential election. There is no doubt that in this one year of Buhari's administration, things have not been easy for majority of Nigerians. This was probably caused by the crash of the price of crude oil which is the major source of Nigeria's income. Many people lost their jobs, salaries were slashed, price of dollar doubled, cost of things increased, accidents everywhere, Fulani herdsmen killing anybody that comes their way, Boko Haram bombing as usual, Biafrans agitating, fuel scarce, electricity supply tending towards 0MW and so on. Nothing was working. Even the 2016 budget had 'k-leg' and has not been passed as I am writing this. Many came to the conclusion that Buhari has failed Nigerians and have not achieved anything since he became president.

If you are among those that think they have gained nothing in this Buhari and APC led administration, you may be lying. At least you may have added some words to your vocabulary. How many new words did you learn during the entire 6 years of Jonathan's administration. But, just one year of Buhari in office, you have learnt many new words. These are some of the words many of us have learnt under Buhari's administration.

1 . Junketing
Many of us knew this word for the first time when Sahara Reporters used it to describe the incessant travels of president Buhari. From a dictionary, junketing means a trip or tour, especially one taken by an official at public expense.

2. Unbundling
When The petroleum minister of state, Ibe Kachikwu announced that they are in the process of unbundling the NNPC many people began to criticize the move even without knowing the meaning of the word. One guy reading it in a newspaper stand shouted "Buhari wants to finish this country oo." I asked him how. He said "can't you see the news headline". "What is the meaning of unbundling?" I asked him. He replied "go and ask Buhari" This means that he does not even know the meaning. I checked the dictionary and it defines unbundling as the separate pricing of goods and services.

3. Wailing Wailers
This is mostly used by APC supporters to describe PDP loyalists and those dissatisfied with Buhari administration. APC loyalists are referred to as zombie by PDP fans. Wailing wailers came from the word wail which means to make a long, loud, high pitched cry as in grief, sorrow or fear.

4. Technically

This word became very popular in this regime. The information minister, Lai Mohammed, said that Boko Haram has been technically defeated despite the little bombings here and there. This sparked up controversies. "We want Boko Haram to be defeated completely and not technically", wailers wailed.

5. Ineffectual Buffoon
Search for "ineffectual buffoon" in the Google, Bing, Yahoo, Ask or any other search engine in any part of the world, you would see that it was because of only one man that this two big words were joined together. It all started when in one article by The Economist, ex-president Goodluck Jonathan was referred to as an ineffectual buffoon. Ineffectual Buffoon means an impotent or unproductive clown (fool). Chai diaris Goduooo.

6. Ipob
Most of us heard of 'Ipob' for the first time during this Buhari administration. Some of us thought it was a newly released tablet PC because we are already used to ipad, ipod, iphone etc. I personally searched for ipob in Konga, Jumia, Amazon, Olx, Aliexpress and even Alibaba since I was tired of my old ipad but I could not find anything. It was later that I learnt it was just an abbreviation that stands for 'Indigenous People Of Biafra'. I am an original Igbo boy and yet I don't know about Ipob until Buhari became president. This is technically ludicrous.

7. Am Tired. Add yours.

All Manchester United and Chelsea fans, please accept my heartfelt condolence for the inability of your formally powerful clubs to make it to the top 3 in the English premiership. However, you are free to port to any of the top 2 English clubs namely, Leicester city and Tottenham Hotspur. As for me and my family, I don port to Leicester City.

But before the porting begins, do you know that over 99% of Nigerians and millions of football fans all over the world cannot pronounce Leicester City and Totenham Hotspur correctly? Oya try am. I can hear you pronounce Leicester City as ‘Leisester city’. Some call it ‘Lisester city’. Both are wrong. Also, Tottenham Hotspur is not pronounced as ‘totinham hotspur nor ‘toteham Hotspur’. ‘Totham’ is also wrong. One of my friend call it ‘totoham hotspot’. Ha ha ha! No be only totoham na bokoharam.

Now, this is correction time. The real pronunciation of Leicester City is Less-ter city while Tottenham Hotspur is ‘tot-num hotspur’. If you doubt, ask Google. Oya clap for me. Kpa kpa kpa kpa kpa kpaaaa!

Okay, let the porting and comments begin.

Science/Technology / US Company To Sell Smartphone-shaped Gun by NJPot(m): 11:18am On Mar 29, 2016
Americans will soon be able to buy a smartphone-shaped gun that can hold two bullets and easily slip into a pocket.

The Minnesota-based company Ideal Conceal says it will sell the new weapon from mid-2016.

"Ingeniously designed to resemble a smartphone, yet with one click of the safety it opens and is ready to fire," the company says on its website.

"Smartphones are everywhere, so your new pistol will easily blend in with today’s environment," it adds. "In its locked position it will be virtually undetectable because it hides in plain sight."

The gun is a double-barrelled .380 caliber folding pistol that will sell for $395, the company says.

Americans are deeply divided over gun rights between those who say carrying firearms is necessary for self-defense and others who support better gun control to fight an epidemic of shooting deaths in the country.

Firearms kill a total of 30,000 people each year.

However, Republican lawmakers, many of whom are backed by the powerful National Rifle Association, have blocked President Barack Obama's attempt to pass gun control legislation.

"No one wants to be in a dreadful situation that may require you to defend yourself with the use of deadly force," Ideal Conceal's website says. "Yet as the old adage goes: 'It’s better to have a gun and not need one, than to need a gun and not have one.'"

Law enforcers may have a different view.

"In general, the concept of any kind of weapon that's disguised, so that it's not apparent that it's a weapon, would be cause for concern," Bill Johnson, director of the National Association of Police Organizations, told CNN.

Eight states allow carrying concealed guns without a permit to do so.
