Loftyboy:
good for GTBANK how I wish other banks could be dealt with like this. you will have #1,670 in your account and when you are broke to collect the just #1000 that belongs to you from the balance you will notice the money has reduced to #1,496. no debit alert, nothing nothing. keeping money under my bed nowadays is somehow better than saving money in the bank
Then you don't have money else your money won't fit under your bed

Am also in Canada, I want to open in stanbic too. But notarization is holding it. Abeg which bank and court did it free for you. My lawyer here is charging me $70 for 3docs. But am still waiting to see if I could get it done for free.
Please don't waste your 70 bucks. That's thousands of Naira. Read my response to the same question in previous page (last post I think)

well, this will be great news for those who have access to Bank loans naa...& hopefully they will drop prices of what they import!!!

btw...see this..

Micro Pension Plan
https://www.pencom.gov.ng/micro-pension/

see how scanty the info on pencom's site is? What does that tell you?

well, i will tell you something;
it is better you contribute part of your income (no matter how small) to money market fund and/or Treasury bills..

than to give pencom your life's savings.

why?
well, when it is time to collect, they will show you you no longer OWN the money; it is they who will make all the decisions and give you WHATEVER they deem fit, WHEN they like!!!

BEWARNED.
Who else read that as "between" and not "by the way" lol

Really? In Canada? So I wasted my monies eeh? Abeg which bank did those for you as CIBC and Scotia said they don't offer notary to customers. Which court can do that?
It depends on what you define as notary. A notarized document is just anything that has your name and home address on it, with an official stamp of a recognized institution. In my own case, I had CIBC (same CIBC that doesn't offer notary to customers according to you lol) print a paper that had my name, address, and account balance. Then the paper was stamped and signed. Shi shi did not go into this. The banks in Nigeria accepted this as a notarized document. Case closed!

On the contrary, I opened and the account became active in 2 days (just because of time zone and logistics). The painful part is just wasting money on notarizing documents. My Nigerian passport and utility bill had to be notarized ($100 just like that). Now, the worst is that I have to notarize my indemnity form!! So just to open account now, person go keep $150 because say em no dey stay for Naija. Well..........
Na you wan spend money na. When you are very conservative with money like myself, when you've grown with a mother that is akagum in the highest level possible, you will learn by force to avoid spending even 5 Naira unnecessarily lol. Anyways, I opened GTB, Zenith, StanBic, and First from Canada and I didn't spend shi shi wink you can print a picture of your passport and have it notarized at your bank, freee of charge lol . You can even have your document notarized in court, for free, IF YOU ASK THE RIGHT QUESTIONS

why don't you go to jiji to check , get the contacts of the ones you like and ask your girl to be there in person to speak with the landlord and sign papers for you
Thanks for the advice. Of course I'm not going to send money to anyone here. I will get my girlfriend to meet them and finalize the transaction.

Fam, this is a very wrong thread. Search again. You most likely won't find the help you need here.
There is no such thing as a wrong thread. My question was very legit giving the fact it was directed at someone who said their family went to the said university my girlfriend attends.

With 1m, you can only buy tbills at the secondary market. You have to ask your financial services provider the maturity dates that are available. I know there's a set maturing on April 4th. Buyers don't determine the maturity date of tbills so if your window is 30days you might not find something that fits exactly

But if you're flexible, I'm sure they can find something for you

You're full of crap. With 100,000 Naira, you can buy tbills at the primary market. Stop littering this thread with false information.

I need public opinion, I have 8m fixed deposit at the rate of 8.5% that’ll mature may 23 but I’ve been contemplating on terminating and add more to invest in treasury bill at the secondary rate of 11.75% my bank already sent the form but my account officer said I’ll loose 25% of my accured interest if I terminate before maturity do y’all think it’s wise to terminate and invest on Tbills or hold to maturity.

You guys just like creating problems for yourselves. Why not just wait till your fixed deposit matures? Then you can do whatever you want with the money. Call me lazy but I don't have time to do all these maths and calculus on how much I would lose should I terminate an investment. If you like tell me primary market next Thursday would be 18% and my investment is maturing the same week, I am not cancelling it before maturity #JustSaying

I'm in Batch B stream 2 and I applied for my redeployment immediately I left camp but the guy has decided to be unfortunate. I've missed October clearance already cos I couldn't go back to Zamfara and I was waiting to get results from the guy.

1. Will the clearance I missed have any effect like extension of service or something?
2. Is it possible I have a querry waiting for me there?
3. Will this missed clearance have an effect on my redeployment if I decide to pay someone new afresh?
