SexExplorer: It's very easy. Just get a hotel at ring road. The average price per night is between 10k-15k.
Otherwise, tell your girlfriend to suggest a better option for you Wouldn't it be better to get a self contain or something like that for one year? Did you read my post that I'm staying for a month and half? Self con is how much yearly? So why would I pay 10k per night for 45 nights |

It may seem too personal a question, but pls indulge us/me for mentorship purpose.
Some of us need to copy and paste or spy small. When you ask a question like this, should you not open the floor? How much capital do you have now Zamirikpo, both in tbills and whatever other kind of investments out there (eg mmf)? And what level of income do you wish to have before retiring? As a matter of fact, you can place several bids at the same auction. You may have to use different banks though. If you like have 100 tbills with one bank, e no concern them. I use GTB for all tbills. |

Agbaletu: Hello, what would you be doing when you retire at 30/40? I still don't understand how an able man or woman would retire at such an early age! Maybe I am missing something sha. Did you know that being a parent is a full time job? I have decided not to have kids till I'm 30, by then I should be retired and have all the time in the world. If my wife wants to pursue her career to any level of her choice I won't care. As for me, gonna be a full blown full time dad: not gonna miss any of their games, or activity in or outside of school that they're involved in. Being a full time parent is a job on it's own, and that is what I will be doing full time for the next 22 years, then full time gran daddy after that lol so I'll have my hands full for a while after 30 haha. Sorry don't mean to derail the thread away from tbills lol |

Grupo: That guy no dey naija sha. My Ebonyi brother weldone sir! Ndewo! Yeah I'm not in Nigeria which is to my advantage. What I make here in an 11 hour shift a day is more than 50,000 Naira when you do the conversion from dollar to Naira and I work 7 days a week cause I have two full time jobs; yes I don't get days off (no time for clubbing and all that) that is why I'm gonna retire with pride when I'm 30 cause I've worked my ass off for it and it is gonna be a well deserved retirement. Barrytone: I envy you, at 25 I was still getting upkeep from my parents. Made first million at 35yrs and am 42yrs now and hoping to retire at 50/55 My father totally cut me off. At the time he did it, I had 76 cents or less in my bank account lol so I promised myself that I would never be broke again and I started hunting for jobs and started saving once I got full time jobs. I'm from a wealthy family, very wealthy. I mentioned here one time that I found out from an email on my dad's phone that he had at that time last year 415 million Naira in his fixed deposit, which everyone here raised eye brows about lol. My uncle, younger brother to my father, same mother same father, is the governor of Ebonyi state. For this reason, I felt so lazy and entitled that my father decided to cut me off. I hated him at first, but now I see he did it for my own good. Every penny I have now, I worked for. I don't receive money from home any longer, not since I was 22 anyways haha. So I've been saving since I was 22 when my father totally cut me off, financially (we have great father son relationship haha). I guess my point here is that hard work pays. |

We all should not be faint hearted. If we were there at 10%, no shaking now, we will weather the storm. When you should say we are in a storm is when there are higher rates. Folks here gotta understand something: lower rates means we are doing well economically. I love my country and that is why I wish rates would even go down to 2%. Praying for a better Nigeria; rates please go down more!!!!!! |

michealekene: Guys... 1dollar =184 naira at the moment. What's the best action to take in terms of buying dollars for safekeeping If you live in Canada and you want to starch some money away into your Nigerian account for treasury bills, now is the time to make your move. World Remit, and Ping express still has the rate at 266 and 264 respectively. Act now before these transfer companies changes their rates to 140 Naira per dollar.
Thank me later. I just transferred some money at 266 using World Remit. I did not believe they haven't updated their rate to 140 per dollar until I saw the money land in my GTB account. Nna mehnn I wish I had more dollars to send |

AngelJennifer: True. In Choba university envr u can get a good self con as low as 70k. A descent one room as low as 35k.In the city like Rumuomasi, Rumuobiakani, okporo, you can get a self con at 150k and 1 bedroom flat at 250k. My sister lives in an estate and she pays 250k for one bedroom flat apartment. Feeding; with 1500 you can prepare a descent soup. Clothing: cheap as Aba is close. Transportation from 50 depending on distance. Education affordable depending on your choice if you want costly ones. You can get a good private school at 30k. Security only good in the major cities but try not to stay late with your gadgets. Is that 35k for one year? |

Grupo: I live in abakaliki, an average self con costs between 120k to 150k. Mini flat costs around 180 to 250k.
Keke ride costs between 50 and 70 box.
A bag of pure water costs between 100 and 130.
Olosho, costs between 5k and 10k for short rest either in your house or in your hotel room. I don't know the price for those that are resident in brothels.
An average plate of food in an eatery costs around 300. It definitely costs more in places like Vegas, etc. I eat out sometimes and cook other times. Prices of food stuff are average.
For kids school fees, I don't know as I am not married. Ah Mr. Grupo from treasury bills. Good to see you here. I'm from Abakaliki haha |

Tallesty1: Nigeria is not an amazing country. I can't say much because I don't know the quantity/size but the price of groundnut is on the high side here compared to other northern states. With 150k you can get a clean two bedroom flats here. Though it depends on the street, that same amount can only get a self con at APC quarters. I don't like eating out, I cook almost everything I eat when I am at home. With 7k, I can cook three different soups and still have some change. A plate of food in restaurants here is between N250-500. An average hotel room costs N5k here, you can get cleans ones with N2k though. It is about location and environment. Never had any business with these ones so I have nothing to say. My location is Suleja, Niger state Well written |

SexExplorer: IBADAN
Accommodation: it depends on the area. Bodija is the most expensive, followed by oluyole /ring road areas and others. I stay in the Allen of ibadan - ring road. A self contain is 80-160k. One bed room flat is 150-250k. Two bedroom flat 200-300k. I get an average of 23 hours light per day. Only a few places enjoy such uninterrupted power anyway
Transport : transport is cheap compared to lagos. You can get a minimum of 20 naira bus and the minimum price of Okada is 50 naira.
Food : food is cheap here. With 300-500 naira you can buy 2 pounded yam with 1 goat meat in a local restaurant.
Olosho. You can get that for 8-15k depending on your specs
Jobs. Menial jobs are not scarce. But white collar jobs are scarce. In fact, ibadan economy is powered by yahoo yahoo guys and government. As for me, I'm a freelancer and I earn about 800k-1 million monthly. But most times, my monthly expense is just 60k.
Verdict. Ibadan is not boring if you have money. Getting accommodation is cheap. However, getting a good job here is difficult. If you are into agriculture or are self employed, you will enjoy this city. I want to come to Ibadan on a three week holiday. I need a place to stay. You got any suggestions? Something like a self contain with living room and kitchen. Thanks. |
