Phones / Re: Which Partnership Is Your Favourite? by nnaomaog(m): 4:52pm On Jul 19, 2020
I go with my guy Wizkid...he is an icon

PaulucheBusines:
Bitterleaf FC are saying it's no big deal because it is not their favourite, heal properly sweethearts.

Tecno has Wizkid - Wizkid was signed 2020, with surprised lots of Nigerians when they launched their Camon 15 Seriess

Infinix has Davido - One strong partnership people didnt see coming, he was signed in 2018 and gone to be a key driver in marketing of the infinix brand

Itel has Olamide - In what can only be considered as the coming together of two kings, the smartphone for everyone brand, itel Mobile has unveiled Afro-pop star, Olamide Adedeji as its official brand ambassador this year.

OPPO has TACHA - The management of Oppo Mobile Nigeria has announced its decision to partner former Big Brother Naija housemate, Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha. This was disclosed in a recent tweet made by the company, who emphasised its commitment to providing quality smartphones.

This says alot about Wizkid, Davido, Olamide and now Tacha's Influence!!! If your favourite is not here, Abeg hide your face forever! Its a Big Deal!!!

My question now is which Partnership is your favourite?

Nice

Sunkanmiwise:
From other research and findings I did about the Sparkling Spark 5, it answers all the questions asked within this article which are these:

- Can I afford it?
- How good is the camera?
- I hope I will not have to spend a lot to fix the screen if screen is broken.
- Is the selfie camera very amazing?
- Does it have a good storage?

And these questions are mostly the main concern of Tecno customers nationwide, and I think that's why tecno had to put all these into consideration with the release of the Spark 5.

Do you think TECNO Mobile is ready to go global and compete with other smartphone brands?

I feel this brand is very ready to compete with other smartphone brands...and also ready to lead in Africa and world at large...

Temitope1759:
Hello Nairalander
Today I stumbled on an unboxing and review video of Tecno Camon 15 Premiere on one of world's most popular tech and smartphone YouTube channel "Unbox Therapy.

Unbox Therapy' is one the biggest tech YouTube channel with over 16.5 Million subscribers across the world. The review is surprising because Lewis Hilsenteger barely review devices that are not globally recognised.

Do you think TECNO Mobile is ready to go global and compete with other smartphone brands? Watch and drop your opinion.

Phones / Inspire Your Creativity With These 10 Minimalist Photographs Shot by nnaomaog(m): 3:56pm On Apr 30, 2020
Minimalist photography as the name goes is a form of photography that is distinguished by extreme simplicity. It more often than not focuses on the smallest number of objects in the composition process. This kind of photography is what I have found myself focusing on lately and that is largely, because, like the rest of you, I’m stuck at home due to corona virus lockdown. But even so, what other best time do we have other than now to try out something new and refreshing.

The minimalist photography exercise giving its nature of simplicity has also allowed me to drop all of the gear, pick up just my smartphone and simply focus my abilities on finding light, textures, patterns, and other visual elements that make a visually pleasing photograph irrespective of how boring a space might seem.

Below are 10 of my favorite photos shot in the last week on the TECNO Camon 15 premier. You can also see this as part of my Camon 15 premier camera test. [img][/img]

Phones / Re: How To Free Up Space On Your Smart Phone by nnaomaog(m): 6:12pm On Apr 18, 2020
All are good ways to free and enter junks on smart phones

devbojj:
"I noticed that these days our smart phones now come with bigger internal storage and I think the least is 32GB, but these storage capacity can drop so quick to 8GB if you are on a budget device"

The 128GB storage capacity on our devices are also not left out of this storage hoolabaloo, cause they also get to fill up when you get too carried away with installing applications, taking photos and videos and also downloading movies to pass the time with on our devices, this pandemic period is the perfect example of boredom and the best way to get through it is be watching movies.

Now without an iota of doubt, I believe the best way to completely free internal storage of your Android smartphone is by performing a factory reset But setting things back up how you want them can take an awful lot of time, and you may lose precious photos, video and other files if they are not properly backed up.

How To Get More Storage On Your Android Smartphone

Delete Cache Files

Go to your device internal memory, tap on the three dots on the top right hand side and click on "Show Hidden Files" you should see some kinda invisible folders, click and hold on to the folders and delete them, once done you can go back and "Hide Hidden Files".

Delete WhatsApp 'Msgstore' Database

Go to your device internal memory, locate and click on "WhatsApp" click on "Databases" you should see some files in this format "msgstore-2020-04-07.1.db.crypt12" delete them all, leaving the only the one in this format "msgstore.db.crypt12".

Move Media's With Huge Size Off Internal Memory

Photos and videos take up a crazy amount of space, and the more storage space you have the less likely you are to routinely go through your file manager looking for files to delete. If your device has space for a MicroSD add one and automate the saving of such media to microSD.

Backup Data To Google Drive

It's safe to say the majority of Android phones run on Google's services, so in other words, it makes sense to make use of Google's other cloud-storage tools, too. Though your document files will take up significantly less space (unless you have a lot of them or a lot of multiple-page PDFs for example), all these can be moved to Google Drive. As with Photos, this will create a useful backup and make those files accessible from any online device.

Uninstall Unused Applications And Games

Since recent Android versions no longer allow users to move their installed apps and games to SD card, it is imperative that you uninstall unused applications and games and the best way to go about this is to visit the Apps menu in Settings.

Or better still you can also access a list of the apps and games you have downloaded by opening Google Play Store, choosing Settings, My apps & games, then selecting the installed tab. To delete anything here just tap on it, then choose Uninstall.

What do you think of these solutions proffered to fix your low storage issue? Drop your thoughts in the comments section below.

Phones / Re: Smartphone Brand Breaks Guinness World Record by nnaomaog(m): 11:18am On Apr 08, 2020
Great achievement... This should be a proof to people that always doubt what this brand is doing in Nigerian community.

MayenKudi:
A new Guinness world record has been set by African smartphone giant TECNO mobile as they recently unveiled their brand-new CAMON 15 series with a SONY camera and the trademarked TAIVOS™ technology and it is to note that this is Africa’s first online product launch.

In this launch, TECNO debuted the largest flip book GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title, entirely composed of photos shot on the TECNO CAMON 15 Premier. The flip book covers an area of 299.26 square meter in total, with 4.676 square meters for a single page, which is the newest GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title of largest flip book.

Although the photos were shot by a smartphone camera of the newly launched device, the details of the images are very vivid and clear even in such a gigantic flip book, and as beautiful as photos shot by professional photographers.

The CAMON 15 Premier is equipped with a powerful 64MP SONY camera. Even after zooming in on a picture with its 8x zoom, every detail will be perfectly captured.

The vividness of the photos produce by this phone has been upgraded by 68% from past Camon models. All you have to do is click the shutter to capture beautiful views and unforgettable memories that will be displayed purely and clearly.

Four pixels were combined into a 1.6-micron megapixel to create high-quality night shots. The large 1/2” sensor captures more light at night, producing a photo that is brighter with less visual noise.

When you put together a super-wide angle 115-degree field of vision and algorithms that reduce noise and boost clarity, you have a mobile camera you can count on for crystal-clear images that can scale to extreme dimensions without compromising detail.

People were astonished at the near-cinematic photos on the 2.17*2.15 meters pages of the flip book. But you are in for the surprise of your lives as you will be even more impressed by what you will discover right on the CAMON 15 Premier’s 6.6-inch tempered-glass screen.

Phones / The Camon Camera Evolution by nnaomaog(m): 4:28am On Mar 26, 2020
The Camon series is one of TECNO Mobile’s best smartphone series. The series focuses on equipping a smartphone with the best camera technology possible. And in today’s phone market, the camera is an essential feature of a smartphone. They say “Moments don’t last forever, so make it memorable”, one of the many ways to make it memorable is by capturing the moment. Taking photos and videos of our precious life’s moment with the help of our smartphone’s front-facing camera. The TECNO Camon smartphones usually have the very best of camera technology in the Africa market.

Over the years, we have witnessed the evolution of TECNO’s Camon camera. The latest being the TECNO Camon 12, which was released in September 2019. The first Camon smartphone was launched back in 2015 – the TECNO Camon C8. The selfie camera of the Camon C8 features a 5MP sensor, which was quite good at the time. See picture 1

Then in 2016, we had the second generation of the Camon series – the Camon C9. The device features a 13MP front-facing camera, which is more than twice what is available on the C8. See picture 2

March 2017 saw the birth of the third Camon device – the Camon CX, which features a 16MP selfie camera alongside a quad-LED flash to help brighten photos in low-light conditions. The evolution will then take a step backwards in January 2018, as the then-new Camon CM comes with a 13MP front-facing camera. Don’t know if you know this quote – “minor setback for a major comeback”? See picture 3

Just before the end of 2018, TECNO Mobile bounced back with the release of the Camon X and Camon X Pro. The Camon X packs a large 20MP selfie shooter while the Camon X Pro comes with an even larger 24MP selfie shooter. See picture 4

From 2018 ending to 2019, the company launched the Camon 11 followed by the Camon 12 with dual and triple cameras at the back. It is sufficing to say that we are now in the ERA of Multi-Smartphone cameras. See picture 5

TECNO Next Generation Camon Smartphone

TECNO Mobile is yet to announce any information regarding the next Camon smartphone. The naming of the Camon series is something that has not been in an orderly manner since inception. So who knows what the next Camon will be, 13? 14? Or 15?

It is only right to assume the next Camon smartphone will feature a vastly improved AI camera. The upcoming phone will definitely come with a larger megapixel than what we have on previous devices.

Let us know what you think will be the name of the next TECNO Camon smartphone in the comment section below and what megapixel camera it will feature.

Phones / Re: The Birth Of The True Night Shot King by nnaomaog(m): 9:47am On Mar 25, 2020
No doubt this phone will be something to talk about...

devbojj:
Do you live in a fast-paced, heavy traffic city like Lagos? Then you know quite well that we were lied to growing up. No one told us that adulthood will be this fast-paced and tough. As if hustling and bustling through the day aren’t hard enough, heavy traffic had to be added to the mix. But we are Nigerians, we are strong and resilient and we have nightlife!

Nothing beats Lagos nightlife guys. Absolutely nothing. And the fun doesn’t just stop in Lagos. I know for a fact that other cities have great nocturnal activities too. So, the days might get rough and frustrating, but the nights are always there for us to unwind and get new air under our wings!

Several restaurants across the country offer awesome live music and entertainment, some even turn into dance clubs most nights of the week, while others turn into amazing karaoke bars as the nights proceed. This isn’t even to mention the oh-so-fantastic food in all shades and forms.

Then there are clubs, and point and kill joints, and football showing centres, drinking bars, pepper soup joints, and even night gaming centres. The list is endless, the beautiful experience unlimited.

There is a downside to this though. Imagine this; you are having a beautiful time, and you whip out your phone to make videos and or take pictures. The best you’ll get is a really dark photo with flashes of eyes and teeth. If there is no sufficient light, then you are automatically getting a really bad photo. This right here is the downside. You’re flexing and enjoying life, but the memory can’t be captured. Most times when I get stubborn and snap those pictures anyway, I end up deleting them myself, most times angrily.

TECNO has been changing the game, releasing smartphones that shoot amazing images even at night. The information has it that they are about to release a new phone to top the previous Camon 12 Series night king. A new TECNO phone is about to be launched. And I hear it is going to be the birth of the true night shot king. Oh, what joy.

According to leaks, the new TECNO phone will be armed with a new technology trademarked TAIVOS™. Apparently, TAIVOS is short for TECNO AI Vision Optimization Solution. Sources say that a dedicated microprocessor will work together with AI algorithms to do one job and one job only; significantly enhance night-time photography.

According to analysis, TAIVOS™ will help improve other photo effects with its ability to increase the sharpness and brightness in digital image signals. When the user is combining cutting-edge camera hardware and powerful algorithms, TAIVOS™ is the missing link that gets all features working together to deliver amazing pictures with a burst of colours.

This is very interesting and exciting! Just days ago, we heard that the new TECNO phone will be equipped with a SONY chip and a whopping 64 mega pixels. We thought that was enough to make the camera outstandingly amazing. But we were wrong. Will you blame us though? The SONY chip news is such a big deal. With the chip, the phone will be the first of its kind in Africa.

We certainly didn’t see this new feature coming. TECNO sure knows how to surprise their fans. The brand says TECNO is for Nigerians and I am starting to believe it! They know how much our nightlife means to us, and they took it upon themselves to solve the one, nightlife problem we have. I really hope all these will be true and not just some leaks thought out by someone.

Phones / Re: How To Enjoy Uninterrupted Gaming Experience Using The Floating Window by nnaomaog(m): 9:03pm On Jan 11, 2020
Which phone do you use?

devbojj:
Almost everyone loves to play games. From simple 2D games like Candy Crush to complex 3D games like Call of Duty, there seems to be a game for everyone. Mobile gaming has become one of the perks of using a mobile phone.

But during a gaming session, you might sometimes need to urgently reply a message and at the same time, you don’t want to quite a game you are so deep into. Or it might be a case where you are stuck on a particular stage in the game and you need to search online for assistance, but you know exiting the screen would quit the game or make you miss some actions, so it is not an option. What do you do in such situations?

See picture 1

The answer is The Floating Window!
This is a solution introduced on the latest version of HiOS, version 5.5 (and above).
How does it work?

See picture 2

When gaming and you really need to reply to a Whatsapp message or search for something online, all you need to is trigger the Game Assistant by swiping (either left of the screen, depending on the location of the Smart Panel). You would now select the option you want (Either web browser or Whatsapp). The app appears on the screen in a floating manner without interrupting the gaming screen. You can move the Floating Window to any part of the screen.
Once done, you just click on the “x” on the top of the floating window and it is gone!

Wow...this is nice...wondering the b3 capacity...

Rubiesangel:
Tecno has launched the Pop 3 Plus. It is the latest addition to the Pop series lineup from Tecno. The smartphone is an entry level device which is developed to target the entry level market. Following the recent Pop series from Tecno, they do use low specificications such as 5.0inch display, 3G only and a 3000mAh battery. But with this Pop 3 Plus, everything has changed, you now get a whopping 6.52inches HD+ display, just like the Tecno Spark 4 Lite.

You also get a 4G LTE for faster internet connection and a 4000mAh battery to make sure your connection isn’t interrupted. As a 2019 smartphone, the device uses a waterdrop notch cutout which houses the front selfie camera. There is also a single rear camera for photography and a fingerprint print scanner for security. It comes in two colours which are Blue and Black.

Going to the specs, on the front, it has a 6.52-inch waterdrop notch display. It’s an HD+ display which means it has a resolution of 720 by 1600 pixels. The device has a PPI of 272 and 19:5:9 aspect ratio. It’s an IPS LCD panel screen with 79.3% screen to body ratio. Under the hood, it is powered by MediaTek Helio A22 Chip which has a quad core processor clocked at 2.0GHz, it runs on Android 9 pie with HIOS 5.5 out of the box and a PowerVR GE8320 GPU for graphics or gaming. The processor is also paired with a 1gb of RAM and 16gb of internal storage.

In terms of camera, this device spot a single rear camera which is an 8mp camera with f/2.0 aperture accompanied by a led flash. On the front, it has again the same 8mp selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture, both the front and back camera records video in 720p at 30fps. What is keeping the light on is a 4,000mAh Li-Po battery which doesn’t support fast charging. The smartphone is currently not in Nigeria but surely, it will soon and it will be priced at N32,000 Naira which translates to $89.
