Phones / Re: How To Fix 6 Common Smartphone Problems by nnaomaog(m): 2:00pm On Nov 30, 2019
Nice article as I just tried 5 and it worked...

Rubiesangel:
Nowadays, as the sales of smartphones are constantly on the rise, it often seems like the problems and errors that plague them are multiplying alongside them. Luckily, many of the most common issues can be solved without having to take your phone to a specialized technician.

Here are 6 of the most common smartphone issues and exactly how you can fix them:

1. Your Smartphone's Running Far Too Slowly
Having a slow phone is usually the result of having too many files saved on your phone, installing lots of apps that you don't really need, or leaving apps running when you aren't using them. Very often, it's a combination of all three. The most simple solution is to turn off or delete anything which isn't really essential. In addition, diagnostic tools like 'Z-Device Test' and 'Phone Doctor' can help you pinpoint and potentially repair the problem. As a last resort, you could also give your phone a factory reset, which will wipe out all of your data, making your phone as good as new.

2. You've Got Bluetooth Issues
A large proportion of Bluetooth issues are caused by either interference or pairing errors. These are generally caused by interference from external sources like wireless devices, microwaves, satellite signals and radio waves, or by an excess of cached data in your device's Bluetooth storage unit. To fix this problem, the first thing you should try is switching your Bluetooth off and on again. If that doesn't work, try deleting your Bluetooth cache, which can be accessed from your smartphone's app settings. If you're still having trouble, you may need to locate the source of interference, so that you can deactivate it or take your phone away from it. If all else fails, make sure that your device's 'discoverable mode' is switched on, since without it your phone will be permanently hidden from nearby Bluetooth signals.

3. You've Cracked Your Screen
Unfortunately, there's not much that you can do to fix a cracked phone screen, but you can still take preventative measures to make sure that such a tragedy never befalls you again. We recommend investing in a screen protector and a sturdy phone case, which can both significantly reduce your risk of ever seriously damaging your phone again. Even though they may be a little bit expensive, such an investment is still far cheaper than having to purchase a new phone entirely.

4. Your Phone's Battery Is Draining Too Quickly or Charging Too Slowly
Battery issues are another scourge of the smartphone era, and the worst of them include having a short battery life, ‘system-hogging’ apps, and slow charging. If your phone is being afflicted by one or more of these issues, you can start by closing (or deleting) any unnecessary apps that you find running on your phone. You should also ensure that the charger and charging cables that you're using are 100% compatible with your phone, otherwise your phone's charging time may gravely suffer. Other options that you can try include reducing the frequency of your apps' updates, shortening your screen timeout, and lowering your screen's brightness.

5. Your Phone or Apps Keep Crashing
These highly frustrating problems could be caused by having too many apps running simultaneously, not having enough memory, or by having bugs in your apps. If your apps keep crashing, you should try clearing the app data from 'App Manager' or 'App Info' (the name will vary a bit depending on what smartphone you're using). Like with many of the fixes above, you should also make sure that you close all apps you don't currently need, as well as clearing your cache. Phone crashes, on the other hand, are a little more serious. One thing that you can try is removing your phone's case and external battery and allowing it to rest for a while, before putting it all back together. You could also try downloading a troubleshooting app, which may help you pinpoint the source of your woes. As a last resort, you could also give your phone a factory reset, but make sure you backup all of your important files beforehand.

6. Your SD Card Isn't Working
While there are dozens of kinds of microSD cards available on the market, they don't all universally fit every smartphone. If you find that you've purchased the wrong kind of card, there's not much that you can do except politely ask to exchange it or for a refund. Before buying a microSD card, you'll need to find out which major format your phone is compatible with, either SDHC or SDXC. Once you've got that figured out, you also need to check which of the 3 major speed classes your phone supports, either Class 10, UHS-1 Class 1, or UHS-1 Class 3. Only then can you make an informed decision about which microSD card is best suited for your phone. Of course, if in doubt, just take your phone along with you to the store, and ask the staff to fit it in for you there and then, so that you can see it working before spending any more money.

Phones / Re: Things That Make Your Phone Memory Always Full by nnaomaog(m): 11:35am On Nov 30, 2019
I always check my phone space and app space.

But since I got my camon 12. I hardly check ...because even ever I check I will see I haven't used half of space...

SofttBae:
1. Applications that use large memory
There are many applications that apparently secretly have massive video, audio and photo files. You can check it in the smartphone settings and be surprised by the amount presented either from a layout that holds a lot of memory to audio.

2. Photos
Sometimes the best moments are from ‘burst’ photos so you have a few similar but many photos. Choosing the best can be a solution. In addition, the resolution you use when taking a picture is probably the best, so it consumes quite a large amount of space.

Unknowingly a lot of smartphone memory is used. For the solution, you can opt for cloud services such as Google Photos on Android phones that can be used to store adequate resolution photos for free.

3. Install relevant applications only
When you want to install new applications, delete the ones you haven’t used for a long time, so you save a lot of memory.

4. Conversations that eat space
One of the reasons your phone displays not having enough space is the usage of instant messaging apps. There are new ways to get conversations going on the IM apps, these include the exchange of media files such as GIFs, photos, stickers and audio.

You should know when to clear your apps data, memory and also control how you exchange photos, videos, or GIFs so that the memory can be freed up more.

My favourite time to shop...was about to get a discount of 21,000 at #SparIlupeju on an AC ...still thinking of which tecno phone to get.

While that is going on online, there will be an offline Flash Sale in selected mobile phone stores on the last Friday in November between 2 PM and 3 PM.

My colleague in the office has been looking for an affordable, good camera phone for her small Ankara business.

No doubt, as this will be a perfect phone for her business.

Uchechiokpara39:
On top of all the outstanding features that come with Camon 12 Air, we are blown away by the battery capacity it offers; a whopping 4000mAh! This has the Camon 12 Air lasting a whole day after a single charge.

Over the years, the smartphone has become a crucial component of our everyday lives. To say that our phones are our Robo Assistants who we feel handicapped without is an understatement. A smartphone has become so essential in our daily lives, that we sometimes can’t even function at a 100% without it. Unfortunately, its usefulness is of advantage to us only as long as there is power to juice it up. Now you know why the news of Camon 12 Air’s 4000mAh got our blood pumping faster.

Huge battery to last more than 24 hours and Dot-In Display
For the very first time ever, Camon 12 Air comes with a Dot-in Display 6.55-inch HD+ Dot-in display with a screen resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels along with 90.3 per cent screen-to-body ratio and 500nits brightness. 4000mah is exactly perfect for this feature!

Moreover, smartphones have become our lives’ sole entertainment hub so much such that without it, it will seem like our life took a sad, empty pause and wouldn’t kick back into action until our phone kicks back on.

For TV series and movie lovers, you can spend hours of movie time on your phones now without having your screen suddenly go blank on you due to low juice. Just imagine the movie marathons you can embark on now!

If movie marathon is not your thing, do you like to play games? Then your gaming experience just took a huge turn of glee. With 4000mAh you can crush and crash and win on and on without having to shut down a round because of low battery.

For business owners, the benefits of a having a phone that does not die on you on a single charge is unlimited. You can be on the move all day, keep tabs on your business and of course your money for as long as you like. You won’t be in the dark due to phone dying off on you mid-day.

In conclusion, a pretty looking phone with as much power to last the entire day which does not cost an arm and a leg is a win for a consumer.

Talking about innovation...these brands keep bringing out and upgrading....Samsung, Tecno, Infinix....etc..

But these new innovation suppose to be cost friendly also ...and I believe the only brand that is cost friendly is Tecno.

The phantom 9 is fabulous and I wish to get that phone for myself.

Right now I use Infinix but will swap for the Phantom

This rain won't stop this greatness. TECNO will be giving out lots of goodies at the opening of their Flagship store.

Phones / Full Specifications Of Spark 4 Phone by nnaomaog(m): 1:35pm On Oct 12, 2019
TECNO Mobile recently launched the TECNO Spark 4 KC8, which is a successor to its predecessor the Spark 3, the TECNO Spark 4 features a dot notch design, crisp full view display, huge 4000mAh battery and AI triple QVGA camera.

At first glance, the TECNO Spark 4 gives the stylish aesthetics typical of the dot notch screen phones and within this compartment, we have the Front Facing camera, a flashlight by the far left, and a couple of sensors. but for those who don't fancy notch, it can be disabled in the device settings. the super full view display is delivered by the 19:9 aspect ratio which fits perfectly on the 6.52" HD+ Dot Notch screen. it's 720 X 1600 pixel resolution, is way above that of the Spark 3, which gives the device the elegant look of "The Tall Phone".

TECNO Mobile is not one to gamble with the battery life of the spark series, TECNO Spark 4 comes power-packed with a 4000mAh battery, which can serve you for a full day, with browsing, listening to music and some gaming. the only con I see in this aspect is the lack of fast charging technology, though it does boast of a decent charge.

A brand that is kin on changing Nigeria Phone market...that what you folks are....nice features

Uchechiokpara39:
So Tecno has released a new and latest version of its iconic Tecno HIOS Launcher, the Tecno HIOS 5 Launcher, and as it is with every new, it sure do comes with quite a handful of features which a lot of persons out there such as myself are gonna find interesting.

But before we start discussing these features one after the other, let us take some time to discuss first, what HIOS is all about.

HIOS Meaning
So the question is; “What does HIOS Stand For?”. Well for those who don’t know, HIOS is simply an acronym for “Hardware Independent Operating System“.

Now i want you to forget about those jargon i wrote up there and just focus on the real life translation of this thing. Well in real life, HIOS is not any sort of Operating System whatever, but instead, it is just a launcher or a UI, just like every other smartphone brand likes to ship their phones with their own in-house customized and proprietary launcher (UI), the likes of Samsung One UI (Formerly Touchwiz), the likes of Huawei EMUI, Xiaomi’s MIUI and so on, so does Tecno has the HIOS.

So you see, there’s really no big deal about it, just a Chinese smartphone company that is trying to be unique in some kinda way. So with that out of our way, now let’s go ahead to discuss fully the features, of our new Tecno HIOS 5 Launcher Version.. #Enjoy

13 New Features Of Tecno New HIOS 5 Launcher

1. Smart Panel
Well for those who don’t know, Smart Panel is more like Tecno’s own version of Samsung’s Edge Panel, you know, all you just have do is swipe from the edge of your display and a number of apps, tools or features will be quickly accessible to you, so it’s just a very quick way of doing things or accessing apps that matters most or are most important to you. See pic 1.

And here’s what Tecno has to say about it themselves..

Smart panel has all your favorite and frequent-used features, also localization services. You can access smart panel from any screens.

You can take a selfie from smart panel within 2 steps. Capture all the beautiful moments.

You can open the scan & pay from smart panel within 2 steps. Scan and go like a breeze.

2. Recharge King (Scan To Recharge)
In addition to Smart Panel which tries to make things done and easily accessible to people in the shortest time possible, HIOS also comes with a pre-installed app that tries to make things even more simpler and quicker, by using a scan-to-recharge technique. See pic 2

So what is it? Well, Simple, it is called the Recharge King app , a lot of people might have already known and even used this app in the past from Google Play Store. It simply saves you the stress of typing in the digits of an airtime recharge voucher, by allowing you to make use of your phone’s camera to scan the digits, and it automatically loads up the airtime in the already pr-selected sim card of yours. And guess what, all these things takes place in just a matter of seconds.

3. Data Switcher
So instead of the old and stressful method of going into your phone’s main settings menu and then searching for “Networks and Connectivity” before you could switch data from one of your Sim Cards to the other, Tecno HIOS 5 has made things a lot more easier by bring the Data Switcher toggle right into the Notifications Toggle icons. See pic 3.

So all you have to do is...

Pull down your notifications menu toggle icons (I guess you already know how to do that right?)
Next is locate the Data Switcher toggle and tap on it.
You will be given options to switch from the current enabled sim card to the other one, or you could just switch off the data connection completely. As simple as it sounds.

4. AI Read Mode
Now if you’ve been using “Eye Care” mode on previous Tecno devices, then shouldn’t come as a surprise to you. It works pretty much in the same way as Eye Care does, but in this case, we know have a little bit of artificial intelligence, that is baked into it. See pic 4.

And what does it do? Simple, now instead of you having to manually switch it on and off, probably in the evenings when you’ll be needing it the most like you do on Eye Care, in this case, it does the job of turning itself on and as well turning itself back off, automatically. And not only does it do just that, it can as well intelligently recognize your environment and adjust it’s color temperature automatically, so your device’s screen will always be at the perfect settings for your eyes, no matter what time of the day or environment that you find yourself in.

5. Intelligent Voice Broadcast
So this is more like Tecno’s own take on Google’s Voice Assistant using its HIOS 5 Launcher. But unlike Google’s Voice Assistant that is more polished and can even help you get some complex tasks done in just a couple of seconds, Tecno’s Intelligent Voice Broadcast only helps you to read aloud stuffs such as your text messages, Messages and notifications from your Social media accounts, it tells you when you have an incoming call, helps you broadcast the weather, etc. See pic 5.

Personally i feel this might turn out to be just a gimmicky feature than an actual usable one, i mean like “Who the hell will want their phones to be reading out aloud their text messages and social media messages all the time or even in public?”. So i don’t see it as something that anybody is gonna be making use of, it’s just for the moment you know.

6. Smart Photo Cleanup
Alright, so the Smart Photo Cleanup is a pretty simple to use and straight forward app, and what it helps you to do is saving you more phone storage space by looking for photos that are maybe too dark, blurry, or similar, it then groups them, and gives you an option to delete them if you wish. See pic 6

So gone are the days of after taking a lot of photos maybe at an event or an occasion, then you take an additional time in sorting out which one stays and which one leaves. With the smart Photo Cleanup, the heavy lifting is done for you, and all you just have to do is just press the delete button, and that’s all.

Phones / Re: Answer Your Calls Without Touching Your Phone by nnaomaog(m): 2:39pm On Sep 19, 2019
Wow...don't know this feature will be coming soon ...I guess soon there will be a way to receive call why your phone is not on motion.

Pekuliar:
Is it possible to answer a call without touching your phone.? Yes, it's possible. Just imagine that your hands are dirty or probably stained with oil, you wouldn't want to touch your phone at that time right?

That's why there's the Gesture Call Picker app which allows you to answer calls without touching the screen or even your phone. Just use simple ‘’V’’ gesture to accept calls and wave your palm above your screen to reject or end calls. That's all, No need to touch your device.

Mention any other app you know that supports this feature.

Business / Re: The Tecno’s Transsion 48.7% Market Share In Africa by nnaomaog(m): 4:38pm On Sep 11, 2019
The tecno parent company is taken tecno to places as they make Nigerians

devbojj:
This is huge – Tecno parent company, China-based Transsion Holdings, now commands 48.7% market share in Africa. Transsion’s mobile phone business in Africa is bigger than either of Apple iPhone or Samsung Galaxy. Transsion is hitting IPO in Shanghai Star Board which has been modeled after tech-heavy NASDAQ of United States. It plans to raise about $423 million. It shipped close to 95 million mobile phones to Africa in 2018.

Transsion, known as the “King of Africa” on the continent, according to the filing on Monday, has overtaken Samsung Electronics Co. and Apple Inc. as the largest mobile phone maker there, tapping into a huge and fast-growing market.

Since founding the Tecno Mobile brand in 2006, founder Zhu Zhaojiang has overseen an expansion that now claims a 48.7% market share in Africa, according to the filing. Transsion shipped 94.44 million mobile phones to Africa in 2018, out of a total of 124 million global shipments.

The company plans to issue as many as 80 million A-shares in the IPO and will set the price on Sept. 17. Proceeds will be used to pay for mobile phone manufacturing base projects and research and development, the filing said.

When Tecno came, it began from 0% market share. But by listening to local customer needs and delivering frugal innovation – great value for money – this firm has become a category-king smartphone market leader in Africa. The message is simple: nothing is set even when Apple or Samsung is involved. Yes, if you innovate, customers will converge irrespective of your initial brand positioning because brand positioning is a product of product validation. Bloomberg has called Tecno the “King of Africa” because when it comes to shipping smartphones, Tecno parent firm, Transsion, is the king today. And the company continues to innovate with the launch of its TECNO CAMON 12 recently.

The 4 in 1 technology and mosaic algorithm enable TECNO CAMON 12 stand out from its range with high pixel and clear camera lens. It comes true that by utilizing TECNO CAMON 12 120° Super Wide Angle or 2cm Extreme Macro Photography, the consumers will be able to take blockbusters by a phone. And you’ll find that with TECNO CAMON 12, anybody can be a professional photographer.

TECNO has been dedicating to providing users with the most up-to-date image technology and experience and announcing the future product strategy to have a smartphone with frontier 108M pixels camera and in-display camera technology in the very near future. 108 MP is set to be one of the highest-spec cameras equipped on a smartphone and with ultra-high resolution as well as better light input capacity and image details, which can be used as printed poster directly.

Phones / Re: Is TECNO About To Release Another Camon Just Before The End Of 2019? by nnaomaog(m): 2:04pm On Sep 04, 2019
Sounds like TECNO is coming up with a new camon...to close the year...like this brand cos of camera quality...who else support this?

devbojj:
The continued success of the TECNO Camon series smartphone is very impressive. Close watchers of the brand know that it has continued to enjoy year-on-year growth.

Well-known across Nigeria and Africa, TECNO has positioned itself in such a way that it is a part of the different aspects of the life of the average Nigerian. As a form of solidarity, this expresses the message that TECNO is for Nigerians. Students and young professionals love it for its great camera and smooth style. TECNO Camon 11 Pro boasts a 16MP + 5MP Dual Main Camera and a 24MP Selfie Camera. Little wonder it is one of the best-selling phones of the TECNO brand, but what MORE can we expect from the TECNO Camon series in the coming days?

We got a hint that TECNO is working on a new Camon that will be released a couple of days from now. What can we look forward to if the hint is anything to go by?

It is normal for TECNO to reward its Camon customers with an exotic trip. The Camon 11 launch was rounded up with a trip to Dubai and Seychelles. The brand is teasing a trip to Europe which means we can expect the release of the new Camon any moment from now.

Will the new instalment in the TECNO Camon series feature an AI Triple camera? Or maybe something better? What will it be called? Camon 11S, 11XS or 12? Whatever it is you expect; you and I know the brand won’t disappoint. After all, we hear their new slogan is Expect More. So, what more can we expect?

Increased RAM and Memory Space
With the increased use of videos and large apps, having more RAM and memory space has become so important! We look forward to TECNO adding more storage space to the next Camon. We can confidently say that the brand won’t release a new smartphone with anything less than 64GB RAM. So, get ready to freely download all your heavy apps! Wait. All that heavy app usage, video recording, streaming and downloading is going to consume a lot of power.

Fast Charging
If you were expecting me to say power, sorry to disappoint you. Don’t get me wrong-a large battery is a great idea – but it doesn’t come without its risks and costs. Not to mention the added weight. For me, fast charging is more important, so long as my phone battery is not terrible. Fortunately, according to information reaching me, the new TECNO Camon will come with a fast-charging feature.

With all the expected features I have listed, plus fast charging, the deal is sealed for me. I’m buying it. At this rate, I won’t be surprised to learn about an increase in sales growth at the end of the year. More is the only thing you can expect from Africa’s most preferred smartphone brand. Can someone please tell me when the new TECNO Camon will be released?

Samsung’s Galaxy A10 is a solidly built phone with a polycarbonate shell. It has a 6.2-Inch display, 2GB RAM, 32GB ROM, and runs Android 9.0 Pie. There is a 13MP + 5MP dual camera at the back as well.

Being a Samsung, carrying one around puts you in the class of cool people.

TECNO Spark 3 Pro

When it comes to overall features, TECNO’s SPark 3 Pro is a smartphone under 40000 Naira that you should consider. It has a 6.2″ display with wide notch, 4G LTE, dual camera, fingerprint reader, and a 3500mAh battery.

Price: ₦38,500.00
