RC,SSC and DSSC are not the same.RCs enjoy all military privileges which an SSC can share if age is on his side. DSSC are office workers. When they start struggling for rank you will see what am saying.I cant envy RCs because i couldnt get it,I am happy with anyone that God gives me.When i was leaving for service some years ago,i know of a colonel in the next street to mine,up till now he is still a colonel while some RCs have come and passed him and is not that the man is not good infact he looks very intelligent and smart but he has been a colonel for a long time. |

ej4sub:Guy,majority will be retired as Lt.Col.,very few will hang Col. and the annointed and favoured once can become Brig.Gen.Except medical doctors and some professions that they cant augment from NDA regular course.Mind you even those corps you that you think is made for DSSC ,some NDA RC are found there.eg.Ordnance,S&T,MP,ENGINEERS ETC |

aihie1:To the best of my knowledge,DSSC can only convert to Direct regular commIsion(DRC) not Regular Combatant(RC).Yes to an extent DSSC are not deployed to frontlines but are still military officers on uniform................terrorist will not ask you wether you are combatant or not before attacking you. Many DSSC officers or are various locations in the North-East.Mind you,is not only those carrying guns or in APCs(Armoured personal carrier) that is fighting BH. Medical personnel are also there.....though they may not be carrying guns, account officers are also there,Rev.Frs and Imams are also there.Admin.workers are also there. So wherever you find yourself within the theatre of war,you are involved. In my own thinking, anything you put your mind to please do it to the finnish, the chances of self defence and personal fitness is never the same among SSC trained and DSSC officers. Infact everybody need combatant training for any emergency.DSSC officers need to be combat ready incase their base is attacked. 2 Likes |

Jammy05:That was because he is DSSC, their promotion takes up to 5years and above.SSC/RC usually wear ranks for 4 years except from Lt.Col.to Col. and above which is political.Even at this stage regular combatant officer are more favoured and by then all SSCs have either being retired or converted to RC, so in essence,i think SSC/RC last longer all things being equal. You might want to read the profile of Brig.Gen.Olawumi the former DG of NYSC and the incumbent one Brig.Gen.Kazaure to buttress what am saying. |

All i know is that the delay will favour us,some might even get better jobs before then, and besides this harmmattan is harsh oooo, some persons that are allergic to cold will find it very difficult in this period at NDA coupled with harsh treatment. I think january is better so that we can have an uninterrupted training period. |
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Nigerian Army SSC And DSSC 2016/2017 Forum by nnesochim: 10:59am On Nov 13, 2016 |
Information made available to me indicates that training will resume on 7th of January,2017.With this you can figure out when the list will be released.Lets remain focused and remember that what will-be-will-always be.If you are meant to be in the army you will definitely be. I was just telling a friend that army job is not what you just use your money and buy because you might buy your death ,this is because you fixed yourself where you are not supposed to be.I think everybody should reflect and pray so that if you become successful after the waiting, you will be rest assured that you are where God wants you to be and because of that you cant die untimely.Happy Sunday to you all. 8 Likes |

samobaba4u:Ok,thanks. This is one of the areas that that i think anything can be obtained, while at NDA someone asked same question and the officer told him that terms of condition change every year, that some wear 2nd Lt rank for 18 months, some set wear for 2 years, some even more than 2 years while some set may just wear it for 6 months,he said that it depends on the decision of the army council during training/POP.Please is it the same with RCs,because i used to think that theirs is just 6 months |

samobaba4u:Please i have a question for you, after passing out as SSC candidate from NDA,how long will one wear the rank of 2nd Lt.,secondly based on your knowledge of Nigerian armed forces which commission do you deem better for a graduate...SSC or DSSC, In-terms of future prospect i.e reaching the highest peak. Please i need your input,i saw some guys with courses advertised in DSSC but opted for SSC at NDA some months ago |

ssgumau21:Are you saying that money for training requires extra appropriation outside the main budget, because as far as i can remember, defense budget has be approved and released.Unless the money for training wasnt captured. On the other hand i also suspected something like this during the application stage. If you look at the defense budget,it is only NAF that has provisions for recruitment, promotion and appointment captured and that is why they resumed training in less than a month after selection board. My worry is that all major recruitment's that started this year has been concluded. EFCC has resumed and police will soon join |
