Crazy how life works. I believe every man has faced a similar, or even tougher, situation, but what matters is that we keep pushing. I have had nights where suicide seems like the only possible option, but then I sleep for a while and when I wake up in the morning, I immediately start looking for a solution. The solution will always come once you really push and dedicate yourself to a finding a way out. My advice here is that if you keep trying the same thing over and over again, with no success, it's time to change your strategy.

5ghz showed briefly on my s22 and my other devices. Restarted the router and now it's gone. Oh well

Its possible to not see the 5ghz on tp-link if you didn't set it up well. While connecting the tp-link with starlink via adapter, you've to choose a high channel for the 5ghz. If you use a low one like starlink does, you won't be able see the 5ghz on some devices. Hlbreed

Regarding the 5GHz channel, my Samsung S20 Ultra couldn't see it but I got an impressive speed of 200Mbps with my GPD Win 4.

The 5ghz is not easily readable. Just few devices can read it

The Starlink Router itself is crappy.
I did not split mine. Using it combined, but I have two Starlink routers in a mesh. I will eventually buy the ethernet cable. Most of my typical speed is between 40-150 Mbps

I also read somewhere that when you split, you should connect faster modern devices to the 5Ghz network, apparently the slower devices will limit the speed on the channel

When I unsplit it, the speed and range actually increased, though slight difference. I just ordered for the ethernet adpater and tp link router. I can't spend this amount and be getting barely 40mbps

I would bet your network is not split and you are being connected to the slower 2.4 wifi automatically.
