Can we have more of the "arguments"  that convinced you into taking the final step?  Did Jesus personally come into your life before you took the step  OR you took the step before he came in?

1. Jesus did not have to come into my living room. I knew all that needed to be known about Jesus and the salvation He offers. . .bear in mind that I was an active church member. But due to the fact that I was not yet born again, I had no intimacy with God, no communion. . . God simply was like a secondary being to me.

2.I was not compelled by arguments, diseases, sickness, miracles, fellowship or reasoning to become born again. . .neither was I evangelised to. I became born again, .due to a sober reflection and acknowledgement of the divine gift of Jesus. . , I became a born again because I was conscious of the decision I was taking.

3. If the truth must be told . . . .Life without Christ was of no direction. . . . .though I had a vision. . .I had NO direction.
when I gave my life to Christ, I realised that what I called a vision was a child's play compared to what Christ had in mind for me.

4. I enjoy fellowship with Christ. . . , not the church. I commune with the Father and He with me. Its been an amazing experience. . . . more?

My decision to give my life to Christ was born out of conscious understanding of present life and realising that there is more to this life than we presently see.
Bear in mind that I had been a "christian" all my life. . .but never really took the final step.
So I took the step to be at PEACE with Christ.

I won't ridicule you or anything.

I cant be ridiculed.

how do we determine whats "right" if not from convictions? how do convictions exist if not from religion/conscience? whats religion/conscience without God?

of course we can. . . . .From Jesus we can say that God is forgiving, peaceful, lives in eternity and has provided a place there for those who believe till the very end.

Atheists:
I am not a good writer but l will try my best. I was raised in an extremely religious family and my father is an Anglican priest. At around 15 l began a pentecostal after attending one of the miracle crusades. So l began to speak in tongues and do all those funny things which come with being a pentecostal.  My path to being a free thinker started when l came to Canada. My father as a black priest could not get a job because of blatant racism within the church. He worked part time at the theological college which trained  Anglican   priests in Toronto but what amazed me was  that the  students he trained would get  full time jobs within the diocese whilst he was denied one. I failed to understand  that if God  does exist then why does he turn a blind eye to the racism and corruption which is rampant within the  church.

1. So it is God's fault that ur father could not get a job? did ur dad attempt to seek God's opinion? did he seek the counsel of God? when half-baked church goers dont get things their way, they question the legitimacy of God. did God encourage the abusers to be racist?

2. So u became a free thinker cos ur dad had no full-time job? what does "free thinking" entail? denying the existence of God due to irrelevant peccadilloes?

3. what is God supposed to do to a man who chooses to be racist? what did ur dad do about it?

My other problem was with the pentecostal church which l attended in Toronto. These guys claimed to have the holy spirit but their behavior said otherwise. First of all their miracles were dubious and they abused the church funds in a blatant and disgusting manner . Again this made me wonder that if God truly  existed then his nonchalant attitude towards dealing with  charlatans deceiving innocent people with his name spoke volumes.

1. ur folly is amazing. The problem is not the church. . . .the problem is YOU. worship the father in spirit and in truth and He shall direct ur path. . .let the light in u shine for the world to see. where did u ever read that inactions of the congregation should determine ur faith or belief? were u saved by the church? did the pentecostals die for ur sins? were u baptised in the name of the pentecostals? it is spiritual illiterates like u that make non-christians question the rationality of christianity.

2. what is God' s word concerning such brethren in the church?

During the summer of 2006 l decided to read the bible from Genesis to Revelation going through each book with a fine comb.It is during this time that l became convinced that the bible was not the word of God. The old testament was full of cruelty and injustices whilst the new testament was riddled with contradictions. I also looked at the ten commandments and analyzed them one by one and came to a conclusion that these were the laws of iron age ignoramuses  not god. I could not understand how god would give more importance to the Sabbath in his commandments whilst he never mentions anything about  slavery, women rights and human rights in his commandments. At this stage l became a skeptic and l was on an irreversible path to atheism and secular humanism. The final nail in the coffin was the problem of evil. I couldn't understand how a benevolent , omniscient and omnipotent god would allow evil to exist.

By the end of 2006 l was an atheist but l haven't come out of the closet to my family or close friends. My mom will be emotionally devastated and as for my friends they will desert me.

1. why is the bible not the world of God? what should the word of God look like? what is ur perception of God? what is understanding of God?

2. what are the contradictions in the NT?

3. ur understanding of the OT reflects spiritual immaturity. Simply put urself in the place of the children of Israel. . . . .all that was done for them is ur portion under the new covenant . . . .why is that so hard to understand?

4. has atheism provided a job for ur father?

Atheists:
My biggest problem with the Christianity was  that they  have a god who creates  an imperfect creation  and then expects that creation to  live up to his standards. Failure to live up to his standards will result in eternal damnation ! Truth be told there isn't one  redeeming feature in Christianity.
