Christianity Etc › Re: Why Do Some Christians Hate To Pay Their Tithes? by nomoreface: 11:47am On Oct 05, 2010 |
I think What makes this tithe thing look 'criminal' to me, is the threat that goes with it. I understand money is needed to run the church. But i think that if the pastors come out and say it just as it is: 'we need money to run the church and go for outreaches and thing like that, it will be much better. people will give more freely and you know you are giving to promote God's work on earth. I can't remember the last time one heard a sermon that truy reminds you that there is glory ahead for those that truly love God. That was when God was still in our Churches!! now everything, the sermon, tithe, offering (everything in church now) is just about MONEY!!! |

na_so: Forget that talk, we never had world class players even in 1994,however any good coach should be able to assemble this players and play our unique and highly intelligent brand of football that makes us difficult to beat ,even by the world class teams.
Tell me who was the world class player in 1994? Bros, Finidi was world class then! Keshi, Amokachi, Okey Uche where not far behind!!! |

GNBohr: what a shame to nigeria football. to think they still consider them relevant to the national team. but what do you expect when there is no new wonder kid on the bloc. The current September edition of dish africa magazine profile six risinf stars of african football and not one single nigerian is mentioned.
the new kids on the bloc in africa according to dish africa magazine is as follows:
Vincent Aboubakar (Cameroon), plays for Valenciennes in French Ligue 1. he is only 18
Kwadwo Asamoah (Ghana), plays for Udinese in Italy. he is 21
Andre Ayew (Ghana), plays for Olympic Marseille in France. he is also 21
Ryad Boudebouz (Algeria), plays for Sochaux in France. he is just 20
Nicolas N'koulou (Cameroon), plays for Monaco in France. he is also 20
Jonathan Mensah (Ghana), plays also for Udinese in Italy. he is only 20.
Where are our own youngsters. it is no wonder we have not a single name on parade when we are in the habit of parading over 30s as under 17s.
Yobo is claimed to be jus 28, but we all know he is close to 35 and above. so he is only fit for retirement football, unfortunately nigerian players dont have the discipline and ptofessional attributes of Ryan Giggs and paul Scholes to remain in the top flight.
Where are the following national team players plying their trade?
Obafemi Martins Seyi Olofinjana Sanni Kaita Obinna Nsofor, four coaches rejected him at Inter Yusuff Ayila Peter Osaze John Utaka Kalu Uche IK Uche Yussuf Mohammed Danny Shittu Yakubu-ed Ayegbeni All others I cant remember their names now.
Answers to these will tell you the position of our football and expectations you should have from our Super (Chikens)/Papa Eagles. Whispers have it that Yaks is going on a season long loan to Wikki tourists!!! Which makes Mikel and maybe Taye Taiwo the only Nigerians playing professional football abroad! na wa oo!! |

I fall into the former, I would, of course, love to regularize my stay, I am still a young man, under 34, why would I live the rest of my stay here in everyday at the behest of the authorities. I want to be a part of this society, I want to contribute my quota and pay taxes, I trained as a Theologian in a British school and I would love to use my knowledge to set up a charity that will do this society good. But then I have to survive; I cannot go back to Nigeria now because firstly, there is no money to do so and secondly the country at the moment is not organized. Pockets of ethnic violence here and there, lack of adequate security, the educational system in shambles and so on are part of the reasons I can't go back. I have not mentioned the fact that going back without some form of “wealth” is also a danger to me. If I belong to the rich class, then I can wriggle and bribe my way through the system, stepping on the head of others to get whatever I want. But that would make me look as bad as those who exploit the poor, making them flee to such nations as the UK for refuge. However, I do not have that kind of wealth and influence, so going back is not a wise thing to do, at least not now. My friend u are very un-intelligent. just listen to yourself: "U cannot come back to your country because of pockects of ethinc violence and inadequate security" and u are very willing to "contribute your quota" in another's country. The owners of the country apparently does not need your contribution and by God's Grace they will soon deposit u at MMA. And before they deport u, please dcon't forget to take "some form of WEALTH" from them so that your life will not be in danger and u can step on the heads to your country men and bribe your way to heaven! danburouba sege!!! |

andyanders: To me, Mikel’s move to Chelsea, killed his improvement. Rather Morinho used him as a defensive midfielder instead of attacking Midfielder that he was known to be. If you look at Mikel’s playing pattern closely, he lacks speed, scared whenever he is with the ball as you can see him just move the ball immediately the ball gets to him and also shy away from goal mouth. He cannot hold the ball. He could be good in having to marshal the midfield as any of his misses at the back with players like Ronaldo, who got speed, could lead to his opponents to score against his team. Mikel is doing good with Chelsea because he got Lampard and Terry behind him. He could have improved better if he had signed for Man U.
Samson Sisia, played him well and brought out Mikel as a good attacking Midfielder, but because he later signed for Chelsea who already got good midfielders, they decided to try to get him play another role. After Chelsea trained him as a defensive midfielder, nothing good as far as I am concerned has come from the Youngman. I love him as a young man and a good footballer but something needs to be done with him, only if he goes to another club like Man U where Fergusson can mold him to a better player. I think it was because of monetary gain and his manager who used him to achieve their goal. I wish him the best. Let me guess, u are a senior analyst at HITV. This your analysis just reminded me of the dark days of the Premiership. |

I am sooo disppointed in HITV. To think i was one of the first to buy HITV Decoder and subscribe back then because i felt why should a South African company come here and be cleaning us out and not even give us a decent customer service: they will never pick their calls, u queue for hours to pay ur subscription , but HITV did not even come to the party. After the matches on Saturday, u have a very useless equipment in ur house. When HITV came i swore never to go back to DSTV, but after sometime, i had to swallow my pride and renewed my DSTV subscription. DSTV really have changed their way. Good for them both! So Glad i can now watch Football (EPL, La Liga, Seria A), Tennis (My beloved Tennis) for N9,500.00. Also I have Discovery, History,C&I, Nat Geo,Nat Geo Wild , Good for me too buzugee: *yawnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn* the real question here is which of these companys covers NBA games ? now thats what am talking about. do they cover NBA basketball games in nigeria ? i wanna see what miami heat is going to do with wade, bosh and lebron. now thats a sight to see Bros i feel u. its on ESPN. Around midnights fridays mainly. |

bebrief: I never said the priests are above the law. If they were, why then does the Church issue the guide for lay people posted on the Vatican's Web site, which makes clear that suspected abuse by priests must be reported to the police?
Between the law of God and the law of man, which do you choose? And what does the law of God prescribe as reparation for offenders of His law? Repentance and Forgiveness [/q since it is even the law in the church to report such abuses, why then did cardinal Ratzinger choose to cover it up? |
Christianity Etc › Re: Stop The Persecution Of The Pope! by nomoreface: 3:41pm On Apr 18, 2010 |
bebrief: As I said earlier, the priests in the church form an order of religious, guided by the code of Canon law. Unless you are one, you cannot understand what it entails. From my little understanding of the workings at the Vatican, the Church has it's own mechanism of dealing with it's internal issues and punishing offenders. Just like the military courts have a different mechanism as against the civilian courts. To an atheist, this might seem difficult to understand just like the words "repentance" and "forgiveness" cannot be found in their vocabulary either. In other words, the Priests are above the law? And you believe they should be; and get away with such grievous crimes? and may be murder will also be considered 'it's internal issues'? Bros, throw away that religious sentiments and use your head!!! |
