UK embassy doesnt work like that .... the Visa officer is not an admission offer so they dont reject based on a different background. That decision is left to the school admissions officer to decide if you are good enough for admission

Once you are good enough to get admission that is all and prepare for the question on why the school why UK why course

Try September admission.

With your 2.2, you can apply for Masters directly. You dont need to do Post Graduate Diploma.

Schools like University of Salford (Petroleum Engineering), University of Portsmouth (Engineering Geology) and University of Derby (Petroleum Geoscience) accept 2.2 Geology degree from Masters.

There are others too. Use GOOGLE.
