Lack of respect and regard for others is the reason Igbos are having problems with other tribes.

Imagine saying Ikwerre is Igbo without regarding the sensibilities of Ikwerre people who fought to ensure the constitution of Nigeria recognises Us as a separate from Igbo..please be guided.

Igbos are a big and successful people, if Ikwerres were Igbo, nobody will tell us to key in..Once again, be guided.
you are now the one insulting the sensibility of ikwerres. I've always known u're an impostor. No ikwerre will insult his people just to prove a point.

PoliticsPro-Biafran Activists Tear Nigerian Passports - Saharareporters by Noneroone(op): 5:12pm On Oct 29, 2015
Some Biafra secessionists have torn their
Nigerian passports to press home their
demand for the breakaway of the South-
East from the Nigerian state.
Pro-Biafra activists tear Nigerian
passports
As of Saturday, no fewer than three videos
were seen on the online video sharing
platform, YouTube, in which some Igbo
denounced their citizenship of the country
and declared their allegiance to Biafra.
The Nigeria Immigration Service has,
however, warned that such act is criminal
and attracts a jail term.
In one of the videos, the man introduced
himself as Emenike Michael Nwofor.
He said, “My names are (sic) Emenike
Michael Nwaofor. I’m from Nnewi in Biafra
land; when there was Biafra, there wasn’t
anything called Anambra State. I would
refuse to add that name called Anambra
State to it. I am from Nnewi, the former
Enugu State.
“I am living here in Bordeaux (France); I am
an asylum seeker in Bordeaux. I have been
around Bordeaux for a year plus and we
have been able to gather the Biafran family
here in France; we have been able to
register with the government of France as
indigenous people of Biafra.”
After a long speech, he subsequently
brought out his Nigerian passport and tore
the pages.
In another video, a young man, who did not
mention his name, also tore his Nigerian
passport angrily.
In the third video, the man, who spoke in
Igbo and French, tore his passport while
using derogatory words on the
government of Nigeria.
The Public Relations Officer of the NIS,
Deputy Comptroller Ekpedeme King, while
reacting to the development in an interview
with our correspondent on Saturday, said
the service was not aware of the passport
tearing.
King said, “There is a new Act called the
Immigration Act 2015 which stipulates the
punishment for any alteration or
destruction of Nigerian passport; it is a jail
term with conditions.
“Those who mentioned their names, if we
find out that they tore their passports, will
be taken to court. A process has to be
followed.”
Checks by our correspondents showed that
the Immigration Act 2015, among other
conditions, states, “Altering existing travel
documents renders the holder on
conviction of a two million naira fine and/or
imprisonment for a term of three years.”
The Department of State Services had
reportedly arrested and detained the
founder of the guerrilla broadcasting
channel, Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, at the
Murtala Muhammed International Airport
Lagos on his arrival from London recently.
The Nigerian Police had also arrested and
arraigned many members of the Movement
for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State
of Biafra and other secessionist groups
recently.
Thousands of members and supporters of
MASSOB had last Tuesday embarked on a
protest in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State
capital, demanding to break away from
Nigeria.
In a swift reaction, governors in the South-
East and other leaders in the zone had
dissociated themselves from the protests,
saying they were not in support of the
group.
A former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon
(retd.), while speaking to Channels TV on
Friday during his visit to Nasarawa State,
had said the resurgence of a group
claiming to be Pro-Biafra would not in any
way pose a threat to the sovereignty of the
country.

i thought you said we should allow ikwerres to sort themselves out while hausa/ fulani in collaboration with ijaws continue to bully and intimidate them to denounce their identity.

But the north is atleast not claiming ss lands. It gives the ss the leavage of getting more special agencies to get attention. The problem has always been the corrupt brothers that manage our agencies. We can get more control and balance over resource in nigeria, but can neva get that with biafra a dominiering and imposing race
ikwerres are igbo, obigbo is igbo, ndoki is igbo, egbema, opobo, bonny, etche, ekpeye and ndoni are all igbos. we must get them back into biafra no matters what you think! you may go hang!

i am indeed ashamed of the igbo ppl on this thread una are giving up i agrree that the rivers "igboid" groups might be scared or uninterested in joining the igbo grp but that doesnt give us a ny chance to dump them there are today many ikwerres who are ambassadors and willing members of the igbo nation today all thisthings we are seeing is just pure politics and we shouldnt allow it to drww a wedge btw us bc the diff among us are not even up to the level of cultural affinity we share if we gove up niw we make the nigerian attempts on igbo divisons succesful. the ijaws should have no matter or mouth to tell us who is igbo or not igbo bc they themselves do not even know their borders.
they can deride us all they want but they should not det their way bc irrrespective of whatever they say there are igbos in rivers and ss and they will make biafra bc a reality whether they like it or not
this is what i have been telling them but they dont seem to get it. nwanlecha paziena obiagu1 and ezeagu do not support a biafra with ikwerre because some ikwerres say they are not igbo.

advocating for an all igbo biafra does not mean ikwerres are more important than us. the fight to include them in biafra should not be understood as a plea for them to join us rather it should be seen as a struggle between we igbos and northerners over what is our own.

Northerners understand the Igboman's nature when they balkanized the Igboland. they know the Igboman is proud and that once you set them against themselves the two parties will be too proud to make re conciliatory moves, which is at the very heart of diplomacy. they used it to divide us and are still using it and sadly, our people are falling for it. we are too proud to make concessions and compromise for igbo unity; we do not seem to rise above intra-ethnic wranglings; we lack diplomacy that is why they sometimes accuse us of not knowing how to play politics. imagine ijaws are now using it on us to tell us who is igbo and who is not. what a shame!

If your lawful wedded wife goes after another man, history will blame your wife but not as much as it will record you as not being man enough to get back your wife.

Bro, it's not the Ijaws that tell anyone who is Igbo and who is not.
In the same Rivers state we are speaking about, we have Asa, Ndoki and Egbema who insists they are Igbos, and the Ijaw and the rest of the world has no option but to identify them as such, even Rivers state government identify Asa and Ndoki owners of Oyigbo rivers as Igbos, because that's what the indigenes insist they be called.

It isn't Bayelsa people who forced Ikwerre, Ogba, Ekpeye to deny their Igbo identity, it's the indigenes of those places that insist they must not be addressed as Igbos. The people of Ogba even went as far as changing the king title of the group from Eze Ogba to Oba Ogba and went on to fabricate many inferiority complex induced stories to claim Bini heritage.

The Okrika, Kalabari, Ibani groups of Ijaw in Rivers state are proud of and celebrate their Ijaw identity, the Ikwerre, Ogba and Ekpeye will kill to erase their Igbo identity.

And you want to put the blame on Bayelsans?

Nnaa, biko, it's time we stopped this already.
this statement in bold is not correct all. most okirika and kalabari people dont identify as ijaw. people from other states prey on your fear of anti igbo sentiment among ikwerres to intimidate you while at the same time fostering ijaw unity. why are you falling for it.

TonyeBarcanista:
[s] Overtime there has been growing number of threads and comments by some Igbo loyalists and sympathisers of IPOB led Biafra ideology over the position of the South-South ethnic groups and in particular, Rivers state. Some have started seeing us as antagonists to the aspiration of the Igbo nation, while some others have moved towards casting aspersions on some of us.

Let me start by stating clearly that my determination to support every legitimate struggle and respect the right of self-determination by any group(s) is irreversible. However, I believe it will be proper to make some things clear with respect to IPOB led Biafran ideology.

1. Nobody in the Niger Delta and Rivers state is against Igbo
What we are saying is very simple. We respect your right to self-determine your destiny, you should also respect our right to self-determine ours. Don't determine for us even if you don't agree with us. If you believe that we have common destiny, state your terms and allow us state ours. Where there is no consensus, allow us determine our next step. If we believe in an indivisible Nigeria or a United Republic of some ethnic minorities within the region, it should be respected. Nobody should be villified for their own choice neither do we have the right to villify Igbos for wanting their land and territory out.

2. Show Respect For Our Territories:
I believe that it was Kanu that spread the fable that Portharcourt is an Igbo city, which some of you now call Igweocha. This is absolutely insulting on us the Okrikans/Ijaws especially. The city of Portharcourt is shared between the Okrikans and Ikwerres. The portion owned by Okrikans have been our fishing port for centuries. The record is there. Ikwerres are not fishermen, hence, a reflection of their settlement. The Okrikans are 100% Ijaws and 0% Igbos. Our portion of PHC is NOT Igweocha and has never been. I am not aware that the Ikwerres wish to call theirs Igweocha but in the event that they wish to, it is left for the Okrikans, Ikwerres and Rivers state government to rename the city altogether and we (Okrikans) shall determine an appropriate name for our portion of the city.

3. Show Respect For Our Land:
I have also been reading tales by sunset by some people saying that Opobo is Igboland. That is a grave insult to the Ijaws and is highly unacceptable. For the record, Opobo kingdom was formerly part of Bonny Kingdom, owned and inhabited by the Ijaws who are proud of their ancestry. The name of the Kingdom is Opoboama, and it was named after former Bonny King Opubo. The land and people pre-existed even before the coming of Jaja, an Igbo slave that was bought by Bonny chief Alali Opubo, Head of Opubo Annie Royal House. For the record, Jaja never found Opobo. He however led a section of Anna Pepple Wari(House) to break Opobo from Bonny Kingdom with the same territory and Ijaw people. The ijaw chiefs never made mistake in making Jaja their first king of the kingdom. The case of Jaja can be likened to Joseph that was an Hebrew slave but rose to become a Prime minister and Head of Government in Egypt. His ascension neither makes Egypt to be an Hebrew land neither does it make the Egyptians as Hebrews. All these are well documented. I have to state that the Ijaw nation is not in land dispute with anyone over any of our territory in the riverine areas of Rivers state. From Kalasunju, Kalaibiama, and Epellema etc are all Ijaw communities in Opobo kingdom. Similarly, Ndoki is undisputed Ijawland. In fact, Ndoki is nicknamed "kala-krike" that is mini Wakrike(Okrika). It is believed that they are descendants of Okrika kingdom. We are all Ijaws. I am stating this to educate those that may not be aware.

4. Respect For Our Brothers And Neighbours:
The people of Rivers state from Ogba, Ikwerre, Ogoni etcetera have suffered together, sacrificed a lot together and even disagreed on issues with each other at differnt times. If in their wisdom they deny being Igbos, Yoruba or Biafrans. It is their right and must be respected irrespective of whether they bear Uche, Yakubu or Folashade. The South South geopolitical zone though a political arrangement but has brought avenue for collective unity. The position of the Binis, Esans, Itsekiris, Ibibios, Urhobo, Anang etcetera should be respected. Their land, their decision and their people. No group or persons deserves to be insulted.

5. Stop Using Jonathan/PDP As Blackmail Tool:
God knows that we recognise and appreciate the support you guys gave to our brother Jonathan and his party, PDP. But, that shouldn't be a blackmail tool as expressed by some IPOB people. When it comes to ethnic/territorial issues, we have to drop the toga of partisanship and address issues from the position of our respective groups and maintain our own interest. It doesn't mean that we don't appreciate your support and sacrifice for GEJ/Wike/PDP. In fact, God sparing our lives we shall support an Igboman from South east for VP slot under PDP. Blackmailing us with the support given to Jonathan is unfair in every sense.

My dear Igbo cousins, we don't hate you. We are not your antagonists. We appreciate your support and solicit your continuous support for our people. We appreciate the sacrifice you have made for our sons and daughters. Personally, I have been a beneficiary of the benevolence of the Igbos and I appreciate it from the depth of my heart. Be rest assured of the love and support of all Niger-Deltans worldwide. This love and support is not just only for the Igbos, but to every Nigerian irrespective of ethnic affiliation that desires the progress of our people.

Our peaceful co-habitation, trusts and love can only be guaranteed when we make respect our watch word.

May God Lead Us Right and Bless Nigeria [/s].

We know that Dakuku is a good man, and can take Rivers state to greater heights if given a chance to lead rivers state by his fellow "rivers men".

DAKUKU. IS AN IJAW MAN OR A RIVERS MAN, contesting for an election with his fellow RIVERS MAN,Wike and must be treated and seen as such by Ndiigbo in Rivers state, let's not attract unnecessary attention for ourselves, let's allow rivers people sort themselves out.

*2015: NDIGBO JOIN PRESIDENTIAL RACE As Ndigbo in Rivers State restates there Igboness.

By: kenechukwu Amazuoke

The race for the 2015 Presidential elections took a different twist with the declaration of Ndigbo that they will contest the 2015 Presidential elections. Speaking during the inauguration of the State Executives of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Rivers state at the Elekahia Stadium Port-Harcourt, the President-General of the pan-Igbo socio-cultural organisation Ohanaeze Ndigbo Chief Garry Enwo-Igariwey stated that “Ndigbo must seek the Presidency of this country at the expiration of the tenure of the South-South. This is in keeping with our stand that equity, justice and fair-play demand that we, the only zone remaining to hold the prime position in the country, should be allowed by our fellow Nigerians to occupy it in an unbroken succession after the South-South....we cannot afford to play second fiddle forever.”

On the spate of insecurity across the nation, the Afikpo Prince stated that Ndigbo has endured enough casualties and called on the perpetrators of the heinous crime of bombing across the northern part of Nigeria to cease forthwith, while the federal government should deploy resources and materials aimed at bringing the menace to an end, and compensate those who have been adversely affect by the wanton destruction of lives and properties.

In his address, the Deputy Secretary-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Engr. Issac Wonwu expressed great joy, as the occasion marks a watershed in a bold declaration of the re-integration of the Igbo elements in Rivers state with their kin across Nigeria since after the balkanisation of the Igbo ethnic nationality by the military junta at the wake of the Biafran civil war. ( Continues below….. )

As labeled

Photo Above: Chief Garry Enwo-Igariwey, President-General Ohaneze Ndigbo-Left; Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, Ohanaeze National/Worldwide Youth Leader-Right

Chief Wonwu who also doubles as the leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in the South-South also re-iterated on the need for an urgent value re-orientation amongst Ndigbo through cordial intra-national relationship aimed at bringing their present marginalisation to an end. He further stated that Ndigbo are committed to rediscovering and repositioning themselves within the Nigerian context, hoping that through concerted planning, respect for one another, stopping their selfish approaches, and the emulation of their past heroes and their selfless approaches to the service of the people, the Igbo dream of occupying the Presidency will be materialised.

For the National youth leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, he thanked the Igbo of Rivers State for coming out en masse to identify with their original roots, as this signifies an end to their suppression by their enemies who have been using the fractured nature of the Igbo in Rivers State as political tool against them in the politics of the state. According to Isiguzoro, “Ndigbo has made a bold statement and this will surely change the face of Rivers state politics”

Frowning at the psychological relics of the Biafran war, Isiguzoro called on the Igbo of Rivers State to stop using the name “Liberation Stadium” for the Elekahia Stadium as they were at no time “liberated” from the hands of their brother Ndigbo, rather that period (1968) marked the beginning of a dark era in the history of the Igbo of Rivers state and other Niger Delta ethnic groups leading to the economic plundering of the region by those who pretended to be their friends and the killing of both the Igbo and the minorities of the South-South region, an act which necessitated the rise of freedom fighters whom the Nigerian state wrongly termed “Militants”.

The President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Rivers State Prince Igo Okparamma, in an interview with odenigbo.com stated that “We, the Igbo of Rivers state have made a loud statement, and it is our belief that from now it is clear to all concerned that we are no longer in doubt of where our true roots are... we are Igbo and this is without doubt.

In a shocking revelation, the member representing Opobo-Nkoro Federal constituency Hon. Dakuku Peterside declared that the Opobo people have their roots in Igboland as the founder and first king of the Kingdom is an Igbo man. Hence Opobos are Igbo. He called on other Igbo elements within the state to identify with the greater Igbo cause.

In her vote of thanks, the Chairperson of the Organising Committee of the inauguration, Mrs Uju Nwanneka called on Ndigbo to return to their “Value Driven” efforts and relentlessly stand for justice and equality for all. The aspirant for the post of Deputy National Woman Leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo called on Ndigbo to make Igbo interest their guiding principle in all their pursuits while eschewing individualism.

The occasion which was blessed with heavy shower had in attendance notable Igbo people and friends of Ndigbo who defied the rains to be with Ndigbo. Among the dignitaries at the occasion were Senator Magnus Abe who represented the Rivers state Governor Hon. Rotimi Amechi, Hon Dakuku Peterside (Representing Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency) represented by Hon. Richard Nwoka; the former PDP Chairman Ikwerre Local Government Area, Chief Innocent Mbah; Deputy President Ohanaeze Ndigbo Rivers State, Amb. Anosike Onuowa; Vice Chairman Rivers State Petroleum Monitoring Committee.

Others present are the Chief Ambrose Owuru; Member Ime-Obi Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lady Love Chimezie, Odozi Nwodozi: National Vice Leader Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing, Arthur Obiora Obiora: Deputy National Leader Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing among others.

Truckpusher:
There are no Igbos in the South South and there I stand.

And Igbos should keep off from renaming Port Harcourt, enjoy their sweat and live harmoniously with their host else history will repeat itself. That's a warning and not any kind of plea.
continue deluding yourself

ikwerres are the owners and landlords of portharcourt

igbos from the southeast dominate it in business

the native name of portharcourt is igweocha

the mayor of portharcourt is traditionally an ikwerre

okirika end of portharcourt came to develop because of expansion

okirika people live in shanties which are already facing demolition

the "new port harcourt" is being constructed in ikwerre land

i can understand ijaws have no city in nigeria

that is why they are fighting over PH with Ikwerres, fighting with itshekiri and urhobo over warri, fighting with igbo over opobo and bonny and even attempted to force another language on the igbo-speaking natives

as i am typing this now they are fighting with bini, eshan and co over a community in edo

their frustration -induced expansionism is contained in kaiama declaration

mr truckpusher ka obu barrow pusher we dont have any business with you. i understand you are feeling funky and important because igbo are replying you. our concern is to resolve our difference with ikwerre.

once we are through we will hand you a bottle of squadron as parting gift and send you back to yenegoa grin grin grin

IGBOPRINCE:
I will not back off, you want unity for yourselves and your people, but you lot enjoys the disunity among ikwerres and co.

Anyway, ph belongs to ikwerre and that remains the stand of ndigbo.
Fear not.
GOD bless you, this is the type of mind i want on this thread. the moment we realize we are fighting for the IGBO STATE OF BIAFRA the better for us and the earlier we appreciate that ijaw is one of the architects of Igbo disunity, the easier for us

Observant:
It is high time these Ijaw, Bini and Esan quit screaming south south and Niger-delta like it's one people. There are about 40 ethnic groups and 250 languages in that region. Comprising of igbo, ibibio, Efik, ijaw, annang , uhrobo, itsekiri, isoko etc .

Truckpusher and Tonyebarcanista should speak for there ijaw people and nation. STOP THE REFERING TO SOUTH-SOUTH AS ONE PEOPLE.
YOU CANT ACCUSE IGBOS OF TRY TO CHANGE PEOPLE IDENTITY UNDER BIAFRA WHILST YOU DO THE SAME UNDER THE GUISE OF NIGER-DELTA OR SOUTH SOUTH
. it is plain hypocrisy
they want to use the SS to fight for their ijaw interest. ask ogoni, urhobo, efik, anang, ogoni, itshekiri they will all tell you the wouldnt share a nation with ijaw

biafranking:
i dont live in your lands,i cant even invest there, my people came there for businesses and transaction, the act of buying and selling, so we re not claiming ijaws or okrika ok..
get that into your skull. What we biafrans are saying is that ph belongs to ikwerre and that s all..
So why the mention of ijawland ,re you trying to bring them in here?
Wetin consign igboman with yenogoa, which is ijawland.
But as for igweocha(PH) BELONGS To ikwerres.
Shekina..
kita ka unu bia. achorom ka agwa ndi ijaw na ha enweghi PH
