AZeD1:
1) The finance minister is an Economist, simple google search would help you.
2) Ministers are policy drivers and the fact that you will fail in a technical ministry says a lot about your intelligence (No offence).
- Head of World bank is a Medical doctor
- The UK Secretary of State for Energy studied History
- The UK Minister of State for Energy studied Political Science.
3) Unless your definition of technocrat means something else, a good number of the ministers were doing well in the private sector before they joined government.
you are wrong. United kingdom is not Nigeria. Uk has existed for centuries and has built very strong institutions for itself. Starting from parliament to the electoral system and from monarchy to religion there institutions have remained almost unshaken since after the english revolution. Their govt ministeris and depts are also well developed and stable and therefore need administrators to manage the proffessional within their ministeries.
But Nigeria where we are almost starting from the scratch, where sectors of the economy require basic works that require technical expertise you dare not bring a misfit to head a ministry if u re a serious leader. What does fashola know abt power? Will wearing long suit and speaking ubfuscating grammar fix light? What does he know abt latest technology in power supply and distribution which an engineer of international repute should know. All members buharis cabinet are not supposed to head there ministries. He even put a pharmacist to head inec b4 it generted uproar. Do u think we would have stopped ebola if someone like fashola was in health?

If oil stops flowing, the North wins. They have food, clothing, shelter, drug industry and basic needs. The south on the other hand are overall dependents on the North for food. With the money the south so much depend on gone with oil the North simple wins.

The rate at which Igbos celebrated (are celebrating) the Mile 12 fracas shows the depth of hate they have for Yorubas and indeed other tribes. Igbos live and thrive in Western Nigeria, they are everywhere in the North and they even want to claim the South South, yet they spew hatred...no wonder the entire Southeast looks like a horror movie-like wasted haunted land. I sincerely think it's time we discussed Biafra and let these bigots go, I cannot imagine sharing a republic with such heartless human beings. Everywhere they go-South Africa, Ghana, Cameroon, US, Germany etc. they struggle for relevance with their host and give the entire nation a bad name. Please just go and establish you Biafra!

Brainwashed people. They think since they failed in Nigeria, Biafra will become an easy way to life as preached by the fool Kanu. Most successful Igbos are not an inch interested in what these miscreants are doing.

PoliticsRe: EFCC Begins Probe Of Ooni Ogunwusi by Noneroone(m): 9:58pm On Feb 24, 2016
dukie25:
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly begun the investigation of the new Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and his company, Metropole Interproject Limited, over an alleged N400 million forgery.

A frontline human rights activist, , Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sulaiman, Executive Chairman, Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ), whose petition led to the investigation, disclosed that he has been invited by the anti-graft agency to come and shed more light on the petition.

The petition dated Monday, 2nd November, 2015 entitled “Request for Prosecution of Prince Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi and his Company named Metropole Interproject Limited for the Offence of forgery, Fraudulent Conversion and Obtaining the sum of N400 million by false Pretence” was forwarded to the EFCC Chairman and received on Friday, November 6, 2015. Copies were also sent to President Muhammadu Buhari, Transparency International (TI), Embassy of the United Kingdom (UK), as well as those of the United States of America (USA) and Republic of Canada.

The petition was supported with the series of evidence, including a petition letter dated 7th September, 2015 which authored by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mr. Rotimi Jacobs of Rotimi Jacobs & Co Chambers.

Comrade Sulaiman said in a signed statement issued yesterday in Lagos that he received a phone call from an EFCC official advising his group to report at the commission’s Economic and Governance Crime (EGC 1) department in Lagos this week.

According to him, “The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has invited us and we are going to appear before it this week to substantiate our position on the subject matter. Our belief is that to every logical mind, the gold is gold, regardless of whether a Prince

or beggar, is holding it in his hand. There is need for inculcation of moral value to our society through the palace in every community in the land and anybody that would occupy the position of authority should come with integrity in order to serve as a good example to younger generation.

“It is also our belief that if you are preaching equity, you must come with clean hand. Worshiping of money and world materials increases the social vices in the country today which makes the corruption to be on the increase geometrically. We don’t have any personal grudge

against Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi because we believe that God makes a leader but we want justice to be done on any issue of this nature as it has been part of our stand. Anybody alleges of any wrong doing needs to clear his or her name first before occupying any exalted position. It is because Nigeria as a country has been eroded of moral values where brigandage takes the order of the day.”

Comrade Sulaiman urged EFCC to also “invite Mr. Rotimi Jacobs, who authored the first petition on the matter, and as well as Professor Gabriel Olawoyin, the head of Olawoyin & Olawoyin Chambers, to come and state their position on the mind-boggling issue.”

PoliticsRe: If Presidetial Election Is Today, Seeing D "Changes" Will You Vote D Same Party. by Noneroone(m): 8:49pm On Feb 10, 2016
StOla:
Yes!

I will still vote for the party that is willing to fight corruption over the one embezzling all the funds allocated for development.

Most importantly, I will not vote for the candidate who claimed his ambition is not worth the blood of Nigerians, but empowered militias like OPC with funds, who then brandished all manner of weapons while the police looked on in approval. Same weapons would have been used for inter-tribal violence long after the elections, with people wondering where such militias get their funding.

I could never have voted for the candidate who thinks fighting corruption is a crime. Or one who declares a group innocent of terrorism, only to accuse the very group of that particular terrorist act 4years later, even claiming he was the major target of that terror and he had foreknowledge of it, so he was quickly driven out of the venue.

Now that I know one of the candidates had his own private Santa Claus to share state funds to those willing to come under his umbrella, I feel very justified that he was sacked and will eventually be prosecuted.

What manner of man will I be if I had voted for such an enemy of the people and of the state?
