TEXT: Proverbs 3:9-10; Romans 11:16, Leviticus 23:10.

Proverbs 3:9 says Honor the Lord with thy substance, and with the FIRSTFRUITS of all thine increase: Verse 10 says So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

Rom.11:16 says for if the FIRSTFRUITS be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.

Leviticus 23:10 says “When you come into the land which I give you and reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest to the priest,” Leviticus 23:10. It is to be set apart as holy unto God!



Opening Prayer:

Oh Lord our God, the bible says you had been our dwelling place from generation past. Before the mountains were brought forth or ever thou have formed the earth, even from everlasting to everlasting, you are God. For this reason we give you thanks and praises, we honor your Holy name and we say thank you because you do always opens our ears to ear the truth in your word and to see the blessings inherent in it. Today Father please open our ears to hear again and our eyes to see the secrets of overwhelming blessings in your word and help us to be diligent enough to do accordingly in Jesus name we pray. Amen.



INTRODUCTION

The Bible is replete with virtually inexhaustible provisions for Man’s comfort here on earth and in eternity. The oldest singular limitation is Man’s refusal to simply obey the WORD of GOD. 3 John 2 for instance reaffirmed God’s persistent intention and plan for man: Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prosperity. However, God not wanting to appear to man as a Dictator, grants man the freewill to enjoy virtually endless benefits ONLY on the condition of total obedience, to the giver of these benefits -The Almighty GOD.



THE SIGNIFICANCE OF FIRSTFRUIT OFFERING

God instructed Moses to expose the secret of overwhelming blessings to His chosen Nation of Israel. Moses obeyed God by stating the conditions precedent to man enjoying God’s overwhelming blessings. In the Books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy, Moses stated the significance of FIRSTFRUIT OFFERING, in not less than thirteen (13) occasions.



Exodus 23:19 stipulates strict obedience to giving of FIRSTFRUIT OFFERING. He repeated this again in Exodus 34:26. The FIRSTFRUIT in Hebrew is “bikkurim” and literally means “promise to come.” And there is ONE who never breaks His promise – God! That is why the truth behind this “promise to come” in God’s Word is so powerful. Though long overlooked by many, this divine establishment of God’s order of things is actually the root that governs the rest. When you KEEP FIRST THINGS FIRST through faith and obedience, you turn God’s promise into provision… ABUNDANT PROVISION! The giving of FIRSTFRUIT must be done promptly along with payment of tithe ( II Chronicles 31:5).



OVERWHELMING BLESSINGS OF GOD



Givers of FIRSTFRUIT OFFERING enjoy God’s comprehensive insurance. Jeremiah 2:3 says God issues automatic judgment on whoever or whatsoever attempts to devour givers of FIRSTFRUIT
Isaiah 61:7, “Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.”
God can be called upon to specially favor the giver of FIRSTFRUIT (Nehemiah 13:31);
The Old Testament text: Proverbs 3:9-10, state clearly that in addition to God honoring the giver of FIRSTFRUIT OFFERING, the giver also enjoys overflowing blessings from the Almighty God;
The Old Testament text further implies that the honor rendered unto God by the giver of FIRSTFRUITS automatically attracts greater dimension of honor from GOD (I Sam 2:30b).
FIRSTFRUITS are giving the first portion to GOD. Romans 11:16 says, “If the part of a dough offered as FIRSTFRUITS is HOLY, then the whole batch is HOLY; if the root is HOLY, so are the branches”. Giving the first portion of your finances to God will cause all of your finances for the rest of the year to be HOLY. FIRSTFRUITS causes God to treat your finances as HOLY giving you favor with GOD because your finances are connected to the FIRST FRUIT OFFERING.
Ezekiel 44:30 “The first of all FIRSTFRUITS of every kind and every contribution of every kind, from all your contributions, shall be for the priests: you shall also give to the priest the first of your dough to cause a blessing to rest on your house.” FIRSTFRUITS impart a blessing on your home. Many times a financial blessing is not our main need or concern. Having a blessing on your home positions you to have healing in your physical, spiritual and emotional need for you and your family. When you give FIRSTFRUITS not only do you benefit but your saved and unsaved loved ones do also.



CONCLUSION

God’s intention is that Man lives a life of true dominion, comfort and overwhelming blessings. However, realizing this divine desire depends on Man’s prompt, total and consistent obedience to God’s instructions, one of which is giving of FIRSTFRUIT OFFERING.

They make the "church" as it were to be about razzmatazz and pizzazz without puting the focus on Jesus.
Someone on this thread is adversely canvassing for us to copy Abraham's example, rather than that of Jesus who is supposed to be the author and finisher of our faith only in the area of paying tithe. You point out why Abraham cannot be who you model your Christian fsith about and he starts telling you that no man is perfect. So why copy an imperfect example who no longer lives when we have a perfect living master who is above reproach?
Unfortunately these are the shallow minds that these men of themselves breed in abundance so as to continue with their scams. people who cannot be bothered to search through the scriptures and put things together to decipher what God says in his word. So many lazy souls who do not desire to knowvthe depth of God's word but rather depend on what these pastors say.

I didn't hear a single preaching or read a single write up against tithes written by anybody before coming to my conclusions
The same way no one preached to convince me that I needed salvation.God put the conviction in my heart and without a preacher I knelt beside my bed and gave my life to CHrist got a Bible and sought out a BIble believing fellowship to grow,I was 17 at the time.

I took up a study on tithes in the year 2000 and what I saw out of the pages of the Bible shocked me
I turned to my husband and told him tithes as preached in the churches were very unbiblical and he thought I had acquired heresies.
I began to show him what the bible says about tithes

Who should tithe
Who the tithes were given to
The different types of tithes and what the people did with them including a type of tithe that was eaten by all that brought it
I literally jumped out of bed after reading all this
The only person I shared this with was my husband who still believes in tithing till this day
From that day on,I felt no need for tithes and when I heAr pastors read out about people being cursed with a curse,I shake my head
it takes a personal revelation to know this
I don't discuss it with people much because the bible talks about wisdom
I only tell whoever is in doubt to set aside everything the pastor ever said,use a Bible concordance and study everything on tithing and tithes in their own home.
It is written in black and white in the scriptures
If after reading it and you are still convinced,by all means pay your tithes
I give as The Lord has blessed me and as he leads me to give both to individuals and to the church
Sometimes I give to struggling ministers and struggling individuals more than my home Church and I am at peace with it
My passion right now is for widows and fatherless.i will give $1000 of my hard earned money for that course before giving it to any jet riding pastor.

They give you an envelooe where you record your payment per month. your name and your tithe number is on top of the envelope.When you want to give the tithe youask the usher for your envelope before service quoting your number and they will find it for you. You will then give your tithe in a separate box during the service.
Apparently it is for record purposes.

Trust me that is how it's done in my parish.

Exactly!!what is misleading a lot of christians on this tithe thing is failure to read their Bibles.The admonition in Malachi 3:10 and the whole of that chapter was mainly directed at the jews or the 11 tribes of Israel who were mandated to pay a tenth of their harvest earnings(tithe)to the levitical priests(levites) who were mainly temple workers & who did'nt have any inheritance & farmlands to till & produce crops.So the curses in verse 9,were directed at these people of old(jews)and not modern day christians/believers.Jesus or His disciples never ever mentioned any where in the New testament mandating any christian to tithe.

When people read single verses in the bible, they read out of context. Sometimes you have to read the whole chapter to understand the context. Don't let people tell you what is in the bible. Read for yourself because Satan knows the word too so if u don't know for yourself, he can twist the word to confuse you

Anointing, is an Old Testament particular way of speaking used when it comes to doing God's work or carry out God's purpose.

Anointing simply means empowering and put aside or set aside for God's works.

Back in the Old Testament days, to give a few examples, God asked Moses to anoint 70 elders, God asked Moses to anoint Aaron and his sons as Priests, God asked Samuel to anoint Saul as King. The word Christ or Messiah means the "Anointed One".

Christians too are anointed with power by the Holy Spirit

Of course, there is no one with a corner or a formula to make God react. Moreover, I don't think that word anointing was ever used in the whole of the New Testament.

Works is when you say there is something we can do to make God reciprocate. This subtly takes the power from God and places it on man's ability to make things happen.

I watched a video on youtube where the finance minister announced - that spending on irrelevant things would stop as crude oil price continues to fall.

The government, whether federal or state should spend funds allocated to them on more relevant things.

Let me tell you what she is going to do. She will suggest that OPEC cut down on production in order to hike the price of crude oil. Surely, the price will go up a little bit but this would make oil consumers to seek for alternative choices. Russia has oil, and not a member of OPEC, America is pumping their shale oil like no man's business and its has no impurity. Demand would shift again and oil price will crash further

The 166th Meeting of the Conference of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) was held in Vienna, Austria, on Thursday, 27th November 2014 under the Chairmanship of its President, HE Abdourhman Ataher Al-Ahirish, Libyan Vice Prime Minister for Corporations and Head of its Delegation.

The Conference congratulated HE Adil Abd Al Mahdi on his appointment as Minister of Oil of Iraq, and thanked his predecessor in office, HE Abdul-Kareem Luaibi Bahedh, for his contribution to the work of the Organization.

The Conference elected HE Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke CON, Minister of Petroleum Resources of Nigeria and Head of its Delegation, as President of the Conference for one year, with effect from 1st January 2015, and HE Dr. Mohammed Bin Saleh Al Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry of Qatar and Head of its Delegation, as Alternate President, for the same period.

The Conference reviewed the Secretary General's report, the report of the Economic Commission Board (ECB) and a number of administrative matters. The Conference also exchanged views on developments in multilateral environment negotiations, including preparations for COP20/CMP10 which will be held shortly in Lima, Peru; the status of the Organization’s on-going energy dialogue with the European Union (EU); its continued cooperative work with various other international organizations for the G-20; as well as its energy dialogue with the Russian Federation and others.

The Conference reviewed the oil market outlook, as presented by the Secretary General, in particular supply/demand projections for the first, second, third and fourth quarters of 2015, with emphasis on the first half of the year. The Conference also considered forecasts for the world economic outlook and noted that the global economic recovery was continuing, albeit very slowly and unevenly spread, with growth forecast at 3.2% for 2014 and 3.6% for 2015.

The Conference also noted, importantly, that, although world oil demand is forecast to increase during the year 2015, this will, yet again, be offset by the projected increase of 1.36 mb/d in non-OPEC supply. The increase in oil and product stock levels in OECD countries, where days of forward cover are comfortably above the five-year average, coupled with the on-going rise in non-OECD inventories, are indications of an extremely well-supplied market.

Recording its concern over the rapid decline in oil prices in recent months, the Conference concurred that stable oil prices – at a level which did not affect global economic growth but which, at the same time, allowed producers to receive a decent income and to invest to meet future demand – were vital for world economic wellbeing. Accordingly, in the interest of restoring market equilibrium, the Conference decided to maintain the production level of 30.0 mb/d, as was agreed in December 2011. As always, in taking this decision, Member Countries confirmed their readiness to respond to developments which could have an adverse impact on the maintenance of an orderly and balanced oil market.

Agreeing on the need to be vigilant given the uncertainties and risks associated with future developments in the world economy, the Conference directed the Secretariat to continue its close monitoring of developments in supply and demand, as well as non-fundamental factors such as speculative activity, keeping Member Countries fully briefed on developments.

The Conference appointed Dr. Bernard Mommer, Venezuelan Governor for OPEC, as Chairman of the Board of Governors for the year 2015, and Mr. Ahmed Messili, Algerian Governor for OPEC, as Alternate Chairman for the same period, with effect from 1st January 2015.

The Conference decided to extend the tenure of HE Abdalla S. El-Badri as Secretary General for a further period of six months, until 31st December 2015.

The Conference approved the Budget of the Organization for the year 2015.

The Conference resolved that its next Ordinary Meeting will convene in Vienna, Austria, on Friday, 5th June 2015, immediately after the OPEC International Seminar on “Petroleum: An Engine for Development” which will take place at the Vienna Hofburg Palace on 3rd and 4th June 2015.

Finally, the Conference again expressed its appreciation to the Government and the people of the Republic of Austria, as well as the authorities of the City of Vienna, for their warm hospitality and the excellent arrangements made for the Meeting.

The Ministerial Conference
Each Member State is represented in this most important decision-making body by the authorities responsible for oil industry and energy ministers of the government. Each Member State is weighted equally ( one vote) . For valid decisions a quorum of three-fifths required (currently eight out of twelve members ) , for all material decisions ( thus all questions except procedural matters ) unanimity is required. The conference far remained full members can spruchen impressive regards decisions taken in arrears and thus prevent . On a proposal from the Conference Non-members may be invited as observers to the conference. During the conference, a delegate ( minister) is elected President , who shall chair and retains the title until the election of his successor at the next regular meeting . The Conference shall determine the objectives and policies of the organization and determine their strategy can only institution to change the statutes, decide on the membership and chooses the other essential organs. In addition, a general clause specifies all the skills of the organization that were not assigned expressis verbis other organs within the jurisdiction of the Ministerial Conference. The venue is usually the headquarters of the organization in Vienna.

The Board of Governors
Each Member State shall appoint a governor for two years in the Board of Governors ( the Ministerial Conference in this respect a veto ) . The Board of Governors shall in the principles laid down by the Ministerial Conference policy of the organization in order , prepares the budget of the Organization and shall make recommendations to the Ministerial Conference. The Board of Governors shall meet at least two annual meetings .

the Secretariat
The Secretariat is responsible for the executive branch of the organization in accordance with the Articles of Incorporation and observation by the Board of Governors. It consists of the General, and the necessary staff to accomplish its tasks .

In addition, there also the following organs:

Secretary General
The Secretary-General is in accordance with the statutes of the official representative and the senior officials of the Organization . He coordinates the activities of the organization in accordance with the instructions of the Ministerial Conference. The Ministerial Conference shall appoint the GS proposed by the Member States for a period of three years , renewable once is possible. The GS is supported in carrying out its activity by a staff of employees , including two directors ( that of the Research Division and that of the Support Services Division ) and the seven department heads.

In addition, a Legal Counsel (General Legal Council) as well as an Internal Auditor ( Auditor ) were established

The so-called OPEC President is actually only the President of the Ministerial Conference and appointed as such only to chair the meeting at which he was elected . He reserves the office until the next meeting of the Conference of Ministers ( the statutes according held every six months ) .
