After reading through this thread and because the refusal letter did not state if i was banned or not, i requested for GCMS notes ( See image 2). I need the house to advise me if this was a 2 years ban,5 years ban or no ban at all.

The information you seek should be in the procedural fairness letter sent to you and in the letter of refusal. It can also be found in your GCMS notes.

Online is usually 4 months. Paper is 6 when applying from Nigeria.

The maximum bank statement any embassy can request for is 6 months. Canada requires 4 months bank statement, they have never requested for 1 year bank statement.

They can actually request for one year bank statement.

A loan is a liability and not a tie.

The visa officer believed you didn't have assets or earn enough to encourage you to return.

Considering your financial situation, the officer was wondering why you opted for a hotel instead of managing with your brother.

The purpose of the letter of explanation or rather Client information, is to provide information NOT already provided in your application.

Examples are documents that are not required in the general application

I traveled last year to Ireland with hubby and our first son, Our previous passport got expired so we did a new one for hubby and myself and we didn't submit the old passport but a copy of the visa page and all other pages that wasn't empty was made and submitted.

This comment is really annoying. I read transcripts a lot. As in a lot. I have seen many, not few, given the Visa even without a letter of invitation. I even know a few given the Visa without a letter of invitation outside nairaland.

I have visited their immigration website and there's nothing of which you speak of there. I think you should be encouraging people instead of spreading unfounded rumours.

If someone accuses you of being an agent trying to put people in trouble with fake invitation letter you will get offended.

Ok good luck in your application, at least i know a lot of people who have USA visas that applied for Canadian Visa with Hotel Reseverastion that were denied. The few i know who applied with an Invitation letter were given Visas. Me i applied with Invitation letter and i got the Canadian visa even though my Yankee Visa has expired.

So, are you saying that those of us who dont have anybody to invite us should not bother applying?

I have learnt not to take all these international/world agencies serious. Most of their predictions always fail to hit their target.

IMF wanted Nigeria to take loan with a lot of conditions (e.g, increase tax, removing subsidy, privatizing of some national assets, etc), Nigeria rejected their offer and they predicted we were going to have problems. Less than two years of their offer and prediction of bad outlook for our economy, we bounced back and have actually done far better than anyone expected.

On the other hand, Greece and Argentina listened to IMF/World Bank and both countries keep sinking since then.

So, pay little or attention to these agents of doom.

Ok they can keep defending it to they run out of cash. If they're actually thinking of devaluing currency they know unsustainable.

I wouldn't think its a big deal considering Nigeria has a trade supplus most of the time. Then imports will drop after refineries come online. Lastly floating naira didn't kill Nigerians in the past and it lead to better growth using the two examples as reference.

Seems there's a new development now, namely; wait time (between one B1/B2 visa refusal and application for another of same category) adjustment from 6 to 12 months in the offing maybe, and a dichotomy in the dates allocated to applicants for renewal and those for normal applications. Dunno exactly, just speculating on what/where the attached image may just be headed....
