Nepotism happens in Kenya, but it isnt as extreme as the case in say Uganda or Angola where the president can even appoint his wife and children to a very important positions in govt, even groom their children as heir apparent and operate the country as though it is a family business. It is not like that in Kenya, not very likely due to the certaim provisions in our comstitution. The govt appointee MUST be vetted by the senate, and the nomineee for the position has to earn tje approval from both the opposition and govt senators.


So, the president can only appoint his political buddies, but family members........nope.

Kanuris got great culture of course. They just don't seem to promote their own identity and culture nationally from what i have observed.

I think Danfodio conquered some Kanuris, like those in Yobe and Jigawa (cos these ones are ruled by fulani emirates). I may be wrong though, so Ishalbash can clarify.
But the Kanuris in Borno have no business with any emirate. They were never conquered.

Yes the Shehu of Borno is assumed to be the 2nd most powerful monarch in the north, but really, it is just assumed. There is no official ranking for such.

The Attah of Igala has always rejected even the superiority of the Sultan of Sokoto over him or his people likewise other traditional rulers in the middlebelt. I think everyone to his own domain and territory.

I doubt that even the Shehu of Borno will accept the superiority of the Sultan over himself.

Yes, Bura (not baburr) are the largest tribe in Southern Borno.
Some Buras have explained to me that Babur are the Buras of Adamawa state. But both names are mostly used interchangeably. They are practically the same people.

I think Buras are found in Hawul and Biu LGAs (entirely) while they share Bayo, Askira and Kwaya kusar LGAs with other tribes.
Gwoza LGA is dominated by very small minority tribes that may be up to 1 dozen in number.
