Lagos state size 3577 sq km 22% of it is water while greater Accra region is 3245 sq km. so what are you talking about?
The entire Lagos state is urbanized and urbanisation has entered the neighbouring Ogun state.
Is the entire greater Accra region 100% urbanized?

Ha it ever snowed in Northern Nigeria?
In Kenya, it occasionally happens and do note, we are on the Equator.
The average yearly temperature of Nairobi is 19 degrees celcius, for places Like Timboroa, Upper Lugari, Kinogngop, and the likes, it is around 10 degrees, all year round
Does it snow in the sahara desert?
The coldest periods in northern Nigeria are the dry seasons when we go for months without any rain.
It takes rain + freezing cold to make snow, doesn't it?

Eastern Africa has more highlands than west Africa.

In Kenya, temperatures fall to between 6 and 18 degrees in the Highlands between June and late August. Even now, some places are already cool
Northern Nigeria is very close to the Sahara and at the peak of winter periods, nightimes go as cold 3°c.
The same thing with Plateau state and Mambilla plateau in central Nigeria. In the latter, the temp never exceeds 22°c all year round.

development. i willl love to visit kenya some day . my liberian girlfriend tell me a lot about nairobi. her mum works there, accra is not perfect anyway.much need to be done.
It's unreasonable to compare very small Accra to Lagos state. Even Abuja municipality is far bigger than Accra.
Lagos is a state of different cities and towns together.

November to early March, it gets very cold, while december and January are almost freezing.
No matter how hot Jos is, it hardly exceeds 32°.

All year round, night time and early morn temperatures in Jos must drop below 19°.
See this week's forecast for Jos below... ...Surprisingly, Port harcourt is sometimes even cooler than Jos during the rainy seasons.

Don't forget that Lagos was once FCT too.

Besides, Abuja is massively developing into Nasarawa and Niger states and very soon Karu LGA/ Nasarawa west will be more urbanised than Kano state.
Karu in Nasarawa is now estimated to be have 1-2 million inhabitants, whereas 10 years ago, it was just villages. Middlebelters are getting richer from sales of lands, even within the FCT.
So, Abuja is like the biggest thing that ever happened to middlebelt people.

Kaduna is not entirely core-north pls. Middlebelt identity and agitation is not limited to north-central. Southern kaduna people have always identified as middlebelters since the old northern region.

Again, you expose your illiteracy.

1. Is it suburbs and neighborhoods you wanted us to compare or towns? Nairobi is a city and its divided into neighborhoods. You wanted us to compare where people live, I gave you those places now you've changed goals - you want towns. Is Lagos divided into towns? Sometimes it's good to hide your stupidity.

2. Do you want to see where Kenyans live or you want to argue about city administration? You're a confused fellow. Different cities are administered differently. Nairobi city is under the Nairobi County Government - the whole of it. Nairobi's districts are simply governing boundaries there's no uniformity of standards of living within a single district. Karen for instance is in the same district with Kibera. You can't use districts to show where the lower middle class of Kenya lives. Some neighborhoods may have their own localized governing bodies that come up from a special arrangement amongst residents but such arrangements are not part of the national structure. It thus seems you're clearly scared considering you're using an excuse that has no relation to the quality of homes that you initially wanted to compare to get out of the comparison.

Conclusion - you're a troll.
Yes! Much of Lagos state is divided into towns. All these places developed simultaneously and merged together with to form the mighty Lagos urban area.

And stop giving flimsy excuses about different nairobi districts having populations of different income classes. This is also the same case with lagos state urban areas.
Some Lagos towns have people of different income classes living together.

I decline comparison because it is insane to compare Lagos suburban towns of millions of people, to Kenyan estates with a few thousand people. It's just like comparing Nairobi to west Africa.

If you have some senses, you would know that only Nairobi's districts can compare Lagos suburban towns and local govt areas.

Agreed d north x backward...how dos dat stops Mb from progressing? Besides, are u not dsame pesin shouting abt development in Lagos, Abuja, ph city etc... Kwara, Benue, Niger, kogi, Jos and Nasarawa r not even beta Dan some of d backward northern states.

I am talking abt Abuja? Is Abuja not in the middlebelt? Is it in the core-north?
Yes, middlebelt states may not be very urbanised because we had no ancient cities and did not control the administrative cities of old northern region, but look at our literacy rates, we are almost catching up with the south. Our people are rapidly coming out of poverty. And education came to all northerners (core-northernerd and middlebelters) the same time. Why then have the middlebelt people made much more progress than your own people who dominated the leadership of the old northern region and even the entire Nigeria?

Apart from the ancient Kano city, can you show me any other Hausa-fulani or Kanuri city in the core-north that is better than Jos?
Don't even dare mention Kaduna city because most of that city belongs to Gbagyis (Southern kaduna people) who are part and parcel of the middlebelt.

And you can imagine that even the Kano state with the mighty Kano city has 70% of it's citizens living in extreme poverty.
The middlebelt state with the highest poverty rate is better than the core-northern state with the lowest poverty rate.

It's a good thing however that you are one of the few educated core-northerners with positive thinking and mindset, but it's so sad that majority of your people are a direct opposite of you.
Core-northern leaders and elites have succeeded in creating a society where there a very rich few educated elites and poor uneducated masses!

Many middlebelt and yoruba muslims may join all manners of islamic groups or be muslim fanatics in their hearts, but they always find it very difficult to express this fanatism outside in the open, because they are more educated and found themselves in liberal community settings that frown on religious extremism.

Add Mauritius to my list. Nigeria has among the least impressive cities on Google maps, don't mention it. Luanda is cool but Nairobi beats it on greenery
I keep on saying it here that Nairobi is a scam. This is why your slums will keep on haunting you.

What is the essence of boasting of a very beautiful and green city with parks when just behind it you have some of the worlds largest and most numerous slums filled with unproductive citizens?

This is the reason why Nairobi will never be able to boast of a large GDP per capital. Too much unproductive and poor citizens in the city secluded in slums.

Anyway, I thought you wanted us to post pictures of those neighborhoods. What happened?
I do not reason as ignorantly as you do. Good for yourself and your calmer tone after your embarrasment!

I saw your comments since yesterday morning and i started checking out the places in pictures and online links since yesterday. I was just too busy to start replying till this morning.

Yes of course, i wanted us to compare! Just that i realized that one cannot compare a town to a single estate. Most of the places you mentioned are ordinary estates, while i am listing towns and local govt areas.

I learnt about the districts of Nairobi, so, it would be better if you use the various districts of Nairobi to compare instead of using estates.
So you can start by classifying the districts of Nairobi according to their income statuses, then we can proceed!

I hope you'll shut your mouth now.
I have checked out almost all these places you mentioned and what i observed is that most of these places you listed are just estates and neighbourhoods. Whereas some of the places i am listing for you in Lagos are entire local govt areas and towns with hundreds of thousands to millions of people, dozens of estates, streets/neighbourhoods that function almost independently of Lagos city.

I have now really concluded that there is no need to compare Lagos and Nairobi.

That's cool. So, what are works on ground?
The satelite town development agency (STDA) of Abuja was created specially for the development of Abuja satelite towns.
There has been a lot of construction and renovation of roads linking and within the satelite towns. Estate developers are being given plots in satelite towns and forced to develop them by the govt, and you won't believe the beautiful, standard and comparatively cheaper estates being built in some Abuja satelite towns.
Niger and Nasarawa state govts must put their hands together with FCTA in this, because many Abuja satelite towns have developed into Nasarawa and Niger states. Nasarawa state governor is trying here but Niger state governor is something else.
