Try contacting an agent tell them to enroute your trip to USA through canada but your return can be through canada or Frankfort.
Although layover in canada can b abit lengthy eg 7-13hrs.
The only thing u will need to do after you buy the ticket is to apply for Canadian transit visa and its easy ,you need to apply for it online. It takes less than 24hrs for it to b approved.
Thanks alot, I have included that as one of my options. ..ive started asking agents already.
Congrats on ur smooth poe experience.
We look forward to more of your testimonies,

............POEs after January 20th...........
I am pretty sure this has been in our minds but some how we really don't want to air it out, some of us rather take the path of faith..the hope that it will be business as usual or the assumption that not much changes can happen in the first one year of office. Personally I think it's something we should brainstorm abt, so we can avoid pitfalls or avoid being made scapegoats. I will set this off in form of questions...
I got chatting with a fellow nairalander and she told me how I mst avoid houston poe. So I decided to re-read by searching through houston Poe, then I came across a poe experience one of us posted.

cbp- don't worry with my new president pple like you wouldn't b coming here so easily again,he is gona stop all this and he angrily. tld me to stand smwer in d middle n called security excort

My ppl in the house, is houston poe a place or an experience we should avoid this new era, or its all just a brag and everything will still be normal...and if we mst avoid it what are our options? Some of us have issues o, i give u an example, my DW has never travelled before she got her US visa on a virgin passport..B1/B2. She wasn't pregnant then, we recently wrote a notification of change of intent and we got the same old reply we all get.
Can someone in her situation make it thru a houston poe in this new era?
Let's talk abt this my ppl...am not ready to waste my hard earned money.

My good ppl
With the very outrageous hike in airfare expecially for the june/july/august mamas! How do we go about this...pls any suggestions?
For those of us going for our missionary journey in the middle of this year, this is a serious quagmire..the only relatively cheap airline now is turkish.-( 498k is now the new cheap..God save us shocked)
Pls my very smart ppl in the house, how do we solve this very unpleasant puzzle. Is thr going to be any kind of promo soon? Or are going to get out of recession in this quater and possibly see dollar ramping down along side other things including airfarehuh I am paying for myself and my DW and the prices am seeing isn't funny at all.
Pls we need help o..if u knw anyone who knows someone that knows an agent that can help.. cry

North Carolina Na one chance o. I would advice you stay away from there o. It was this exact mistake of "that's where I have relations" my friend/sister did and ended up with a bill of about $28k in 2015,she is still paying it now via payment plan. The same arrangement she had in north Carolina would have cost her about $7k if she had gone to Houston or Elpaso, and she would have spent max additional 5k for both feeding & accommodation. So pls run as far as you can from NC,except you find a hospital that has a package deal and you lock it down in black & white(pen & paper)
True talk o, i was considering it cos I have a very close friend thr, but when he told me it's goin to be pretty expensive without insurance, i had to pursue houston. In as much as many of us want to save cost..we shud do it wisely. It's possible u save cost on accommodation cos u probably av someone to stay with and end up lavishing it on hospitsl bills. Let's stick to places that's being tested and trusted. If u read from part 1 to 5, u will realise most hospitals nigerians use in houston and elpaso are within the $7k range it may be a little more though due to complications and all but to have a bill of $28k....
Hmmm at today's rate ..over 13m. 13m for delivery huh that child must be jesus christ, he must really be the saviour o grin

As for payment for me I think it is better when you get there. Because you might get a cheaper hospital after shopping around.
Check your email pls.

Ok very good I did same too. It's better.
Then just get a Dr to give you estimate there by establishing communication to carry along when you travel in case you are asked. Then when you get there you call them and compare prizes before you settle for what you can afford.
How you see am
That makes alot of sense, so it's the correspondence with the doctor that's is needed at the POE? Or they need more documentation, so I don't have to pay just yet?

Please if anyone has used northwest medical center in houston, pls I might need some help with a more direct contact, if you recommend it. My DW edd is in august, I want to start early with the process so we can get alot of it out of the way.

You guys are totally awesome...information at the fingers tip. This is my situation...Dw and i, are planning to leave by first week of July but atm we don't have a doctor and a hospital. I have resolved to use oakbend or elpaso but I have issues getting thru to them.
How do I contact them...all effort to reach thme by calls has been unfruitful. I cant find a proper email on their site....Pls I need help

At the time I enrolled @ Uni Melb the tuition was 33K AUD/yr (with a caveat that the tuition wont be increased by more than 10%) and at time it was the highest or amongst the highest.

Its expensive (wont mince words) erase the thots (ie if yu have such thots anyways) that yu will work in Oz and earn enuf money to pay such fees - one thing will suffer, ur grades or ur fees.

To be able to attempt or pay ur fees yu will have to drop ur course load from 4 courses per semester to 3 or 2-course load and that means elongating ur M.Eng duration time.

Peeps that work and earn money to pay their fees are those that go to lower cadre schools, but not like ur school with 40K/yr tuition

You can work and earn enuf to pay ur bills and be relatively comfy and send some AUD back home from time to time.

During my time I got a job in June/July, which was school vacation time (came in Feb) partly cos of the workload at Uni Melb, so no time to combine working and studies.

Melbourne and Queensland have relatively same living expense but Sydney is expensive;

Is ur family coming with you, as u r arriving or they will join later? U got kids?
No kids yet, just me and my wife. she is running a program here in nigeria. I want her to chill back home while i go peruse the land and see for myself and ofcos eventually she will join me later. i am self sponsored so i have actually got some savings but it definitely wont be enough. if tuition alone is that high!
i have actually been on canada admission for a while but it only seem more difficult and the fact that their visa processing time takes forever, i jst made up my mind to go for australia.
i am particularly impressed with your PR, it really went quite easy..
am happy for you

Some of Uni u posted here (RMIT, Uni of Sydney, Uni of Queensland, Monash, QUT, Macquarie University etc) are Australian top rated Unis and I very much doubt if they will NOT require proof of payment huh At least I know of University of Melbourne cos I enrolled there in Elect Eng (M.Eng) Feb 2014 and prior to been issued offer letter or visa or both (can't recall now) I submitted proof of payment from my sponsor.

Done with studies and now have my PR; issued this October cool

By the way, my graduation ceremony is this dec 2016, y'all are invited grin
This is great news bro. a big congrats to you. i am applying to university of queensland..Mech Eng MEng. i saw their annual tuition - AUD40,000...
I screamed!...How expensive was it for you in melborne? I want to be sure i know what am getting into. As a guy who has a family i dont want to go on assumed fallacies.
How expensive is it pls?
thanks

We have a broken system...it's a porous system that allows for corruption, a system where people still carry money in Ghana-must-go. Like we are still in medieval times. It's just unfortunate, this is just going to be an endless war..they will keep undigging till buhari finishes his tenure..and possibly that might be his only achievement. There is no one in this kind of system that will not steal ...What this present government can do is to work extremely hard to close loop holes.. overhaul this crazy system. Create barriers, multilayers of finance checks integrations and benchmarking. Japan wants to host Olympics and realised that the cost was 3 times the cost london had used in hosting some years back. I was impressed when they cried out and are now considering the options of cohosting. They did a break down of the cost bench marking it to international standards... See the cost of carrying out population census for 2018..222bn...to count peoplehuh? I see no reason why cost of a 20 km road in nigeria be more expensive than the cost of 100km road in ghana..one would think this is about cost of materials or labour or even the contractors but it's not.
It's a pathetic system..we need to correct the system. A system that even GEJ himself was so stupidly ignorant about...Immagine GEJ wondering how $2.1bn was diverted in his oxford university speech, I closed my eyes in shame through out that talk. He is either a chronic pathological liar or he is d dumbest recalcitrant I have ever known.
It is high time we start being more pragmatic about our problems and less political. Countries are run on systems and not by individual might. Buhari has to put machineries in place, get rid of bottlenecks that has been mounted in the system to aid corrupt practices. With this kind of system anybody will be messed up even the so called oyibo won't last - see haliburton. Everybody I meet around the world keep lamenting about our potentials but that's where it ends..potentials. freaking tired of hearing that! We need pragmatism, we need to take the bull by the horn and do something. The so called democratic system on which Nigeria is founded upon is riddled with patches...see our judiciary, the arbitrators and custodians of our democratic values have all been compromised, we all know the legislators are scammers.
Our so called democracy is indeed a joke!
We can talk on and on about these issues...after all we've been on this matter for years.

Thanks for your time!
sehawale i was just kidding...nothing serious.
i was denied student visa in 2012 but had my B1/B2 visa intact! All visa categories are totally exclusive. however, they might stamp a cancel on an expired visa. My expired C1 visa was cancelled when i tried to get another visiting visa. So you should be fine.
With ur profile u clearly have the advantage so take ur chance, atm you are stumped by two issues;
oil price is still in the low, O&G job prospects are still slim at best.(am sure you have friends who have lost their jobs)
The savings you have set aside (if in naira) dwindles as recession continues and dollar strengthens.
make hay while sun shines
wish you all d best
sorry abt my jab, no hard feelings.

Please does anyone know if being denied of student visa invalidates your existing visiting (b1/b2) visa? I'm asking cos I have b1 visa that I have renewed more than 3 times and I have been in and out of the US for more than 8times on thes e b1 visas.

It is about time to get a higher degree ( schooling is my hubby but I got this job in O&G with irresistible offer five yrs ago and I'm there till today). I believe the chances are high that I will be given a student visa because I will be sponsoring myself from my savings. However, nothing is sure in life except God. So I need anyone with first hand information to answer if being denied study visa could invalidate your existing visiting b1 visa or they are not related? I want to continue to enjoy my vacations in and out US even if they don't want me to study in their country.
Bros ur questions will still make alot more meaning without the "bold" statements, they are not necessary at all. I think all you have is funds and a good travelling history, you lack the zeal and a prime objective for an advance degree. you're lucky i am not the consular officer, i will deny your student visa and cancel ur B1/B2! cool

With the exception of some courses, GRE is not needed.

However, if it is recommended as part of the application list, DO it and ACE it. You will probably be competing against Asians that are more than us and good with all these exams.

My advice to fellow admission seekers, if something is recommended and not compulsory as an admission requirement, fulfill it.
Shalom!
Thanks alot Osemigho, I will have to do it anyway, i want to be open to lots of options especially for choice of schools.

This is madness...at some point we'll have to address this madness!
why are they delaying visa application for 3 months! what are they investigatinghuh Some ppl actually need their international passport to go to work (offshores), even for visiting visas, they cant afford to stay way from their passport for a months! A friend had to call back his documents when he applied for a Visa and it took eternity for them to make a decision! US Visas has never been this stressful.

you will put ppl in months of unimaginable suspense! yet i hear ppl are denied!

Nigeria processing times - 15 weeks
~ 4months!
