tiwiex:U guys are daft. U didn't read where it said active mining right? The 13% is on d amount of mining done. |
blueto:Ur lack of smarts is still seeping through the cracks here. How do u measure when a recession is lessened within 3 weeks? Are u high? U are still repeating the nonsense. How does one measure how diminished or aggravated an economic recession has become in the short space of 3 weeks? U didn't even know u were in a recession until u were told by experts. So how would u know if the recession has gotten better or worse and in a short time of 3 weeks for that matter? Think before u talk. I am not one of those daft people on nairaland u usually find urself engaged with. I will point out the faults in all ur assertions. So think carefully before replying. |
blueto:U dull o. Economic recession should be abated in 3 weeks? Some of u don't think before u talk. iflywithbuhari:Did u even read what u posted before writing this drivel? |
Emycord:A good sign of intelligence is ability to know when to shut up. U clearly lack that ability. |
analice107:First u can easily tell I don't believe in hell from that post. Secondly, my belief in paradise doesn't necessarily validate urs. Mine own kind of paradise is wherever I get to mock the futility of all the spiritual exclusivities that u have held on to in this life. We will all get there someday. I sincerely hope for it. I pray the afterlife is not just a state of emptiness, nothingness and oblivion. It will be sad if after mocking u guys in this life, I don't get another chance to make fun of u again ![]() |
Ranchhoddas:I noticed u like arguing for argument's sake. The premise is based on the fact that they are all wrong. Even topic was written by an atheist who obviously believes every one of those theistic doctrine is wrong. My own post was just to add that line of thinking and extending it to why I will like to believe in the afterlife. It has to be fun and give meaning or sort of answers to this life. If u believe only one has to be right out of the many then the probability of that one being right is even very slim. I believe that all belief systems will lead to the afterlife and God who created variety couldn't possibly be asking for only one way to enter into the hereafter |
Ranchhoddas:They can't all be right, can they? |
This is why I don't believe all those stories about married women in some cultures dying spiritually after extra-marital affairs. Na lie. Any man who believes such things is an idiot. The woman in this story is urhobo and their culture believe in such nonsense too. Now d woman no die after d kpanshing |
Not an atheist though. I believe in the afterlife too. Not for the usual selfish reasons of paradise and all. But another selfish reason entirely: schadenfreude. I will like to see the looks on the faces of all those theists who believe their way is the only way to the afterlife once they get there and it turns out they were wrong all along. Those that defended their lying pastors; those who gave all their wealth out to pastors and find out they have been sold a dummy. Those that told us we will go to hell only to find out we are probably more qualified for paradise than they are. And the looks on the faces of the pastors themselves. Mormons, Catholics, Protestants, Atheists, everyone all looking at one another and realising the futility of life on earth. We will probably get to kick a few religious leaders' asses too for setting us on a senseless path. It will be celestial gold to me. Far better than an eternal life of singing halleluyah ![]() |
shachris02:You are actually seem like the slower one here. Atheists don't believe in mediums. How can u be asking them to prove how what they don't believe in works? I am more of what u would call a deist. But even I believe mediums are fakes. They use different tricks of the trade. Same with mentalists. And they have been debunked by sound scientific minds many times over. Because u believe in something doesn't make it true. And the burden of proof is on u the believer not the sceptics. |
Most people know the bible isn't infallible. Considering it is replete with contradiction and historical inaccuracies. And that's to be expected from a compendium arranged by Bronze Age goat-herders who weren't counting on a more informed demographic reading their works. Even those that like to believe it's infallible usually do so out of fear that fallibility impugns their faith. They will shout to high heavens about the inerrancy of the Bible but they are guilty of cherrypicking parts of the book they are only convenient with. Take the issue of women's role in churches for instance, the bible makes it very clear what women should do in church: shut the hell up and listen. Be quite the silent minion. But our modern Christians will not obey that one. U see pastors' wives running the show. Take the old testament law of tithing and planting two different kind of seeds on the same land as another example. Modern Christians will hold on to tithing but quickly reject the notion of not planting different seeds on ur farmland due to smarter agricultural practices we now have today. The truth is that Nigerian Christians are clowns. Just clowns. Nothing else. |
loswhite:Sadly not many people are aware. You are because u are informed. And I am sure u won't put ur life savings into this. But there are people who will. People who will be convinced by the rave and put an increasingly higher stake into it. People you helped convince. Some people are going to be the ultimate victim of this. And u will probably benefit from their victimisation. Fact. For me, this is unconscionable |
flexydote:This is the problem. Every potential victim of a scam always think they are smarter than the last guy that got scammed. The victim does all the hard work, you just help him along. Feed the pieces to the victim. The victim takes them because he’s smarter and you're dumber. Place the victim in an environment he can control. The bigger the environment, the easier to control. Toss the dog a bone. Find his weakness. Give him just a little of what he thinks he wants. Distract the victim by getting him consumed with his own consumption. The bigger and older the trick, the easier it is to pull. He thinks it can’t be that old or big for so many people to have fallen for it. Eventually, when the conman is questioned or challenged, it means the victim’s investment, and thus his intelligence is questioned. No one can accept that. Even to themselves. The victim will eventually hang himself. You just help him along. --Mr Green, Revolver |
Qmerit:U are obviously dumber than a bread knife. If u can't read the political motivation behind the move and u accept a blanket statement like "the overriding public interest" without demanding the meaning then this conversation is beyond ur ken. Scurry back into ur hole |
Qmerit:It's now obvious that u guys have completely lost ur minds. U don't even know how to make rational decisions anymore. So we shouldn't question when a government shuts down a TV station that leans towards the opposition right? U guys are pathetic excuses for citizens |
felixomor:U aren't very bright, are u? I gave u an example to point to u the problem with anecdotal evidence and u are latching on to it as if ur life depends on it. Laughable. Anybody can come here and claim anything. Conmen will also claim they can double ur money by sitting on it. But that don't make it so.We need evidence here. Real evidence not "I know someone" explanation. That was the point of that post u are holding on to like u just discovered gold. If u arent smart enough to realise that then why am I even talking with u? By the way which truth is hurting u? The truth that ur friend was really kidnapped though u are yet to give us any evidence for the spiritual aspect of it other than the fact that u believe it is so? Chai. Guy, go to bed. U obviously aren't capable of complex thought. This is my last reply to u. |
felixomor:See the problem? U don't believe my own anecdotal evidence but u want us to believe urs. One that u admit didn't actually happen to u but to someone else. A story probably embellished by the parties involved. Guy go to bed. Every reason for doubting my story impugns ur own story too. Bring proof here. Not hearsays. |
felixomor:I also know a baby that was given birth to clutching a Quran. Another was holding Islamic prayer beads. I am sure if I tell u about this story u will doubt it if u arent a devout Muslim. So u see the problem with anecdotal evidence? U can claim people have been kidnapped for rituals and all but that doesn't mean any voodoo happened. There are many ways to kidnap people. And because there are people who believe in rituals and kidnap people for that purpose doesn't mean rituals work!!!! Get it? Most are just following laid down rules passed down to them by their ancestors and they afraid that flouting those rules will be inimical to them. So they just keep doing the same ineffectual nonsense from generation to generation If u take a neutral thinking person whose mind hasn't been raped by irrational nonsense to that ur kidnapped friend, I can assure u that he will notice a lot of holes in the story ur friend gave and give a better explanation for what happened. U are just unable to see it because u are handicapped by ur bias towards voodoo and rituals. U believed the story wholeheartedly without even daring to ask questions. Dont worry, soon enough we will put all these things to the test. People will come with their rings and talismans and try to get us to do their biddings on live TV. |
KingEbukasBlog:1. Yes I do. But not always. And the rate of success is not any different from those who don't pray either. I have just chosen to live my life that way. Those are standards I hold myself to. I don't see it as a rule 2. As far as I am concerned, evil is only in the minds of men. The devil is just a way to shirk responsibility. The devil is everything about us that we are trying to transcend. 2b. This easily follows from (2) above. Believers or unbelievers, there is a devil in all of us. Not some fallen archangel plotting against us. But some part of our nature we actively strive against to maintain social order |
felixomor:I am sure u also believe WWE is real unscripted fighting too. ![]() |
KingEbukasBlog:Deist is close but not quite it. I just don't like labels. I still believe in the intervention of a supreme being though so I still say my prayers. And I am a Christian (in the sense that I believe in Jesus Christ and his philosophy of love ur neighbour and pray for them that hurt u. Not in the modern bullshit Nigerian sense that involves paying tithes to fraudulent pastors, believing everything they say and speaking in empty tongues at every turn while being corrupt at the same time). I just don't believe that because I believe in something, it is the absolute truth. I believe God has allowed us all the freedom to choose whichever belief systems we desire and excel through it. That is the first demonstration of His love. We must only act in ways to ensure that our belief systems do not hamper the exercising of that love by other people either by denying them a freedom to practice theirs or practicing ours in ways that bring harm to them. Our overall motivations must be the improvement of the human station by seeking out the laws of God through science and applying it as much as we are allowed by the universe, devising better medicine and nutrition and understanding of our place in the universe. |
KingEbukasBlog:What's not worth it? Watching u guys fumble around ur pockets in futility for tricks to confuse a generation that is increasingly asking for more proof rather than taking things by "faith"? Tah!! It's worth it a million times. I can tell from your post that u are more scared of the injury his ambition is going to do to the snake oil modern organised religion is peddling. So u are trying to dissuade him by appealing to his sense of self-preservation. Djdoxxx, don't let these people confuse u. I believe in God and I believe He has called u to liberate people from the shackles of religion and irrational nonsense. The world cannot advance to d next stage with people still thinking like apes and claiming they have faith. So don't let up. Find more people like u and see this through. May the good in the universe go with u. Hopefully in the future I will start something similar. My first test will be on people who claim to be able to disappear or dematerialize. It will b the day of days. |
mabea:Shut up. All we need from u is proof. Stop the scare tactic. Bring proof. Nonsense. |
simplex2:Or better still, bring them to town as well. It is safer than going to meet them in d nether |
Djdoxxx, I think a much safer way to do this will be to start some sort of foundation that put voodoo and other ludicrous claims to the test on live television or a YouTube channel. Something akin to the James Randi Educational Foundation. To do that will require cooperation from other sceptics who will pull resources together to achieve the aim. This is why I encourage other sceptics to strive hard to be successful. For me, being successful achieves two aims. One; it shows we can be as much successful as anyone else without necessarily believing in a deity (atheists and agnostics) or confirming to majority religious standards (deists, pantheists and other fringe theists). To me, God doesn't care whether u believe in Him or not. Two; it gives us the means to subject wild claims by religious loonies to scrutiny by devising foolproof contraptions and test processes, liberating minds and probably discover any scientific laws or statistical patterns that is relevant in the process. Let me know if u need my input in the future. |
adjoviomole:So the proof of your god is voodoo? Nonsense talk. If u are so sure submit urself for the test. Not all this argument from authority about knowing ebutemetta than others. |
By the way, shouldn't this be a front page material? Seun. Lalastica |
Bravo OP, bravo. Finally we are beginning to have more guys with the guts to call out the voodoo clowns. Not an atheist though. Just a sceptic. To me everything must be questioned; including atheism. I now await the limb-growing evidence that someone has graciously agreed to show us here. |
baddo:Egbon, "shake up" get plenty meaning o. Shey na positive one u dey imply for here? Abi make I begin put eye well for my suya business? |
raphieMontella:U are sure about this? Absolutely sure? Or are u assuming and having "faith" that u are right? |
What the OP is saying inadvertently is that we are God. Or at least, we are the sum total of what we call God. The idea fascinates but I am still sceptical. |
I think I will just do what other people did and leave ur thread for u. U obviously were just seeking attention if u claim all what u wrote there were just mockery and not for intelligent discourse. I have marked ur moniker though. Hopefully I won't make a mistake engaging u again. Cheers. |
