Every dumb nonentity who can't even tell how they will get their next meal will just come on nairaland religion section and start ascribing god-like powers to themselves and claiming their delusions and hallucinations come from God and that they have somehow been bestowed powers to read the future and see into the spiritual realm. |
Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. If the above bible passage is to be believed, the rapture will not take place until every living human have heard it. At least that's what many Christians believe and some even base the urgency of evangelism on this passage. They think spreading the gospel will hasten the coming of Jesus. Assumption 1: Of all the Christians in the world right now or at any time in history, less than 10% of them are really holy enough to meet the criteria for making heaven which means that if hell is real, over 95% of people on earth now will burn in hell. Really burn. Assumption 2: The world is only going to get worse. According to the bible we should see more evil in the world and even less real Christians in it since we are in the last days. By this, there will be less real Christians by the day and even many Nairaland Christians will increasingly join the number of people going to hell. ![]() Now here is my argument: Supposing the gospel has reached all parts of the world save for one community of 100 people in a remote village in a country ruled by a dictator like Kim Jong-Un who isolates his subjects from the world. And it will take another 500 years to penetrate into that place. Will God be waiting for 500 years to allow Jesus come back while many people, billions of them, in all other parts of the world die and go to hell, just because God wants to reach 100 people. Keep in mind that the 100 people may not hear the gospel till they die and go to hell too but they will give birth to children who will also make God wait even more years for the gospel to reach them and the wait continues. But all the while, people are being born in other parts of the world with less and less of them bound for heaven because, by no fault of theirs, they were born in an ever increasing world that is descending into evil the more and made it less likely for them to do good. So God just keeps creating billions of people he knows are hell-bound? That's at least 30 billion souls getting roasted because God was waiting for 100 souls whose majority will still not follow the laws of Christianity after they hear it. Tell me u don't think this idea is silly. Wouldn't God see the big defect in that idea since he truly loves us and doesn't want us to burn in hell? |
adepeter26:That guy isn't very bright. I think the best line he ever came up with is "u have less to say and much to argue" and he thinks he just stumbled on some wise saying or something. I don't even know why u atheists indulge him |
felixomor:Same to u bro ![]() |
CatfishBilly:He is the opposite of Felixomor. That one no just dey try at all ![]() |
otemdomino:Of course we do need bits of lie. The world couldn't possibly function without the infinite capacity of humans to tell lies. A good fib makes the world go round. |
akintom:I partially disagree. Most atheists, deists and irreligious people are usually very thoughtful people. They are less likely to succumb to vices that could harm their neighbour. The general population isn't like that. They are mostly superstitious and among them are some subhumans whose sinister tendencies are kept in check by the threat of eternal damnation. I agree with EVarn, we do need a bit of religion. |
Like play like play, this Otemdomino guy would have invented a religion o with complete scriptures to back it up even. And in a thousand years time, some gullible people will start claiming all that is written there in is truth and infallible. |
Nutase:Very escapist. Why don't u lay down ur argument logically? He has obviously read his bible and has laid down his arguments by quoting the scriptures. For all ur condescension and claim of superior alternative knowledge, u haven't said anything sensible on this thread. All u have done is claim his submissions are heresy and requires further biblical research. Why don't u point him in the right direction by quoting fact-based counter arguments? Could that be because u are only steeped in dogma and have no sensible reasons for holding the beliefs that u do? |
The concept of hell is bullshit. I repeat, bull-freaking-shit. If u read ur bible well, u will realise that throughout most of the old testament, the Jews had no concept of hell. They hardly believed in the resurrection if at all. And that is telling because something as important as hell would have been what Moses will have warned about right from the beginning. It was sometime between the old and new testament that the concept of hell was introduced into Jewish canon; they must have picked up some of that nonsense from Zoroastrianism and similar religions that the Persians and Babylonians, who invaded and pillaged their lands and took them captives, practiced. That's why the Sadducees didn't believe in the resurrection because they stuck with the old Jewish canon. So God must have created hell as an afterthought that He came up with within that time period or it skipped His mind that He forgot to mention it to Moses throughout all those times the Israelites were being naughty in the wilderness. Since there is no evidence for either of the two possibilities we can both agree that this is the most plausible explanation: hell is bullshit. It's just a tool to scare proselytes and devotees into observing the tenets of the religion or risk fiery damnation. And the superstitious goat herders that existed at those times easily accepted it. |
Una still dey on top this matter? After wetin una eye see last year? I bow for una. Some people's faith will not just move mountains. It will move the earth out of its orbit. |
Religious Nigerians are basically idiots. Evidence show that people are getting more depressed by the day and committing suicide as a result. Instead of these religious freaks to seek ways to address the source of this depression and provide advice about how to get help, they start quoting empty bible passages. As if those people who committed suicide hadn't ever read the scriptures before taking their own lives. If the bible telling people not to lie or commit fornication didn't stop them committing it; hell it didnt even stop some pastors from tapping humongous asses, why the heck do u think quoting scriptures here will be of any use to the really depressed? Clowns. |
flyover30:He didn't die mysteriously u religious liar. He freaking shot himself in the face. That was because people actively resisted him and they were already close to apprehending him. If they had been waiting for him to die mysteriously, JWs will probably have been exterminated. So guys should thank the active people who actually do things to make the world a better place and not wait on the patron deity of their religion to sort things out for them while distributing journals everywhere. |
Hassy4:I think it's supposed to be something u can do from home as long as u have an internet connection |
The person that came up with this list will probably still go ahead and commit adultery before the end of the week. Abegi |
Sealeddeal they have recaptured ur brother o. I don't know why India won't enact a law to start killing off these drug peddlers. Once caught, they should be killed. Instead of releasing them to become a menace to society. Those animals are responsible for the drugs kidnappers and rapists use to sedate their victims. Especially those eastern European sex trafficking rings. Buhari over to u. We need a new law for these vermins. Any of those people caught back home should be guillotined immediately. |
frubben:LMAO. Thank you for this post. This is the first hard laughter I will be having this year. U too much ![]() |
drehdinho:Hi. How can I contact u so we can talk? |

Hi. U seem to know a lot about this affiliate marketing stuff. Can we talk? How can I reach u? |
TonySpike:I am surprised someone thought that comment was worth replying. I just saw the comment and laughed it off for the joke it was. Look at the ludicrous excuses the commenter stated for why the show is considered a hit by people. When someone starts invoking conspiracy theories like illuminati to explain stuff, I don't take that person seriously. |
I am not looking forward to season 2 one bit. Whenever they like they should start it. But I do hope they improve the quality of the ending though. This ending for season one was sort of anticlimactic for me. A robot uprising that wasn't truly a robot uprising. It was still more or less Ford controlling the damn bots. Even though they tried to hint that Dolores was conscious all along and the Bicameral mind theory finally took hold, all her actions afterwards seemed plotted by Arnold and perfected by Ford. And Maeve, yes Maeve, they couldn't just let her be. She had to have also be a Ford puppet too. Argh.... Story was cool until the last episode. Writing; perfect. Cinematography; topnotch. But ending.....the ending....leaves much to be desired. Sorry if my rant included spoilers. |
deeMarc:For me, it was underwhelming. |
omowumeee:Ford is literally a god in that park. There's a little chance he doesn't know Maeve is up to something. Let's see where Maeve's story arc leads. |
sleemoon:Like I said and it has been confirmed in d latest episode. Bernard is a host made in the likeness of Arnold. |
landinfo:Ford is playing a long game. We will have to wait to find out what Wyatt is meant to help achieve. I still believe it's part of his long running battle with Arnold. |
lepasharon:Reminds me of all those stories I hear about old women who claim to have transformed from their avian form into human form or vice versa. Or any other animal form mentally disturbed Nigerians lay claim to. All of them are schizos suffering from various form of clinical lycanthropy. |
Damogul, I guess it's now clear that the story about someone dying due to ulcer isn't true. But I don't think it's fair asking him to mention the presidents of CACCF for those two years especially since he said he attended ASF instead. I don't think there's anyone who keeps records of presidents of fellowships that aren't his own. |
I suspect that after the events of today, Harmirror may need to rebrand and choose another moniker for a while. Just like Joagbaje did. |
damogul:Agreed |
Howmon:Common dude. I am beginning to suspect u are not being truthful urself. U want to claim u don't know Pastor Ogundare? Or Olusola Areogun? Or the loves domain peeps? Common. U have to know one of those names he mentioned or ur story should be followed with caution. These are people JCCF or any other fellowship invite almost every time every year. |
iRyan:Um nope. I disagree with this. If there's even a little possibility he may have told that lie, then every bit of his story should be stripped down so we can separate fact from fiction. It's true that humans are infused with an innate need to embellish stories but if that raises questions about the authenticity of the whole story, we owe it to ourselves and everyone reading this to acknowledge the fragment that it true and debunk the false ones. It's a moral obligation. |
