The people of Okoroete community, and indeed the entire Eastern Obolo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State have been disconnected from the rest of the world as the only access road into and out of the Local Government have been destroyed by erosion.
The local govt.,which is one of the oil producing LGA in the state have been suffering from erosion and other topographical issues over the years.

Me I don't Understand the government in AKWA IBOM this days. The massive potholes that the long vehicle was trying to dodge b4 overturning, at the Technical College end of the bridge, has been there for years now and everyone is turning a blind eye to it, including the deputy governor of the state that is from there. The place was last shabbily filled when the dep. gov. Wanted to bury the brother. Not long after the burial, the while place turned a mess....Aks govt should wait till a major accident occurs there and claim lives, then they will pay condolence visit to family, offer relief materials and so on.... NONSENSE GOVERNMENT

So surprise to see my alma mata this way.Its unfortunate that people that suppose 2 draw govt attention 2d school are looking the other way.I remember in my days, we had this principal that was always telling us 2 draw our big parent in govt attention towards renovating the school, dat if he had his way, de school will wear a new look, but that same man was appointed a Permanent Secretary in the state ministry of education for 4good years, yet he did nothing Currently de State Publicity Secretary of PDP is an alumnus of d school, yet under his watching eye, the school is decaying. As 4 Rozayx5, note dat d school is still run by govt n not d catholic mission.If u want 2c how a school returned 2 catholic mission looks like, go2 Holy Family College, Loreto Girls Juniorate n others...
