Hello again Mudley: My point is this - Christians are followers of Christ, seeking to become as much like Him as possible and thus bearing His name! I would like to see you justify any of the acts in your examples with His teachings. So that we do not become hypocritical (using lies to self justify and turn this into an argument to be won rather than a mature learning process), I have point blank stated that even the OT way of God has regret for some actions and thus repentance. On the other hand, we find the Koran exhorting its followers to convert all with violence and kill "so-called" unbelievers. And peaceful Muslims are not even considered "true" to Islam. Another way is to consider the messengers - Jesus and Mohammed and their lives then show me how your examples relate to Jesus. Or look at it thus, Sir - I am Nigerian and they call us 419. Does the Nigerian government teach us this? Would you, being Nigerian, accept automatically being called a "fraudster" because some citizens are? |
Mudley: Interesting post but an overkill and not truly applicable. I think you should judge our belief system with what they preach and that we are exhorted to follow rather than what we decide to do - if the Bible today requires that we kill/destroy all opposition, then something is wrong with it. Same with any other "book". Your examples do not find support in the teachings (I'm not talking of the history of the OT which is a story and not what we are meant to practise or follow) of the Bible today. The examples depict the rabid tendencies of depraved people who are ready to use anything including God's name as an excuse to commit crime. History will inform that much of what you dug up was financially and politically motivated and they just needed a stamp of approval- what better than God but where's the command or directive they followed to be found in the Bible? In regard to even the OT, the only religion I am aware of that has a God that claims repentance is Christianity. That may mean something to you, Bro. |
Sunrise and Sunset are ok words as long as its not the Bible using them. Once it is the Bible, daggers are drawn. ![]() @InesQor: Me, I know the answer to your question - You are "x" miles away from me and "x" is a positive number greater than 0. . I'm sure Toneyb agrees with me since I'm not the Bibeli Mimo! ![]() |
@Krayola: You will close your eyes and stretch forth your jaw: na so me dey fight and I go hold sledge-hammer or at least wrench come! Jesoul don hamma with the single I release for am so im no go worry to see wrench kiss your mouth. Anyway, since na me and you dey talk and not God and His angels, I think whats applicable to us is what matters. That said, remember I accept there was a period between earth being mentioned as existing and man's creation. What I do not know is how long that status quo remained before "Let there be, " Sincerely though, I wonder, what difference does the answer to that make to the price of cannabis in your area? |
IMO, the earth is not 6, 000 years old. The Bible nowhere states that it is. What is stated is that the earth existed and then Man etc were created. How long the planetary systems were in existence before Man was created is not answered by the Bible. The Biblical creation day-period is also not explicitly stated as a 24 hour period and indeed, we read that a day is as a thousand years. What we believe is that Man came into existence 6, 000 years ago which brings me to my point - if we are 6, 000 years old, then indeed, the world/earth/life is 6, 000 years old "TO US". When people say it is 10 gazillion years old, of what use "TO US" is that? That I think, is why both old earth and young earth creationists are right. It just depends how you "DECIDE" to look at it! |
@OP: ol'boy, you need to sit alone and decide honestly what Jesus has done that you follow this path of throwing darts non-stop. When it no longer emotional, you will get answers. As IMHOTEP ha explained, you're looking for your pants in the wrong place |
@Noetic & Pastor_AIO: You guys are looking at different sides of the same coin. Peace please, Brothers! InesQor:Anything aside this is icing on the cake i.e "in this case", what hurts your tummy. Perfect summary of the belief of a Christian. Lovely as usual, InesQor and advantegeous to Krayola would would have gotten a "combination uppercut" from me where it not that you've put me in a good mood. |
@OP People say Eddy_P is a man but findings suggest he is actually not human. His parents noticed he is actually non human. His siblings also noticed he is actually not human. When he went to school, the research done by the school authorities showed he is not human. Those who would have been his friends decided he is not human. Clinical observations point to the same conclusion that he is not human. Somehow or other, he went abroad on holiday where he was observed to be not human and on the return flight, the pilot wondered how he got on board since he is not human. Do you see how intelligent your post is - its as succint as the broken record above repeating rubbish. Could you go the entire hog and let us know what this non-divine source is rather than being a broken record. |
@ Jesoul: Kumbaya my Lorrrrree, kumbaya kumbaya o lorrr kumbaya kumbaya krayo kumbayaaaaaaa krayooooo, kumbayaaaaa o lorrrreee, kumbaya someone smoking lorre, kumbaya someone boozing loore kumbaya someone spliffing lord kumbaya Krayoooooo kumbaya krayoooo kumbaya Since I've sung for you, you don't get a refund! Just plug in a CD or two to record for posterity and remember to pay me royalties when you sell my all-time single above ![]() |
^^^^ As usual, a very honest and INTELLIGENT response. I would have scored you 100% were it not for your delirious fantasy of an ordinary karate chop wounding me. You don see where person blow wind make wind cry b4? As my people say, who say im go catch today na tomorrow e go catch (when tomorrow comes). If not that I've become a great fan, I for e-blow you. One blow, two thousand die! One blow, fifteen people poo-poo! Na me be that! As it goes, Krayola, your points are well made and carefully thought out. But you're still not getting one point here. What we say is that, whether Christian or not, these scholars are wrong looking at the book on the basis of scientific study. Look at it this way - lets suppose InesQor heard John's story from John and then wrote it as the Gospel according to InesQor, what impact do you suppose that would have? I believe it then would look watered down as hearsay to everyone knowing that InesQoe did not live during Jesus time. Now since it is John's story and named as his book plus IMO, only a very few of us are questioning the ontologies and all those other big words you guys love on NL, the watering down is not felt. Billions of simple minded people who have not heard the word "Ketubim" have read a story attributed to John as John's word, believed it, acted on it in simple faith and gotten value from it. We may wish to see them as simpletons and ignorant people but what does that do for us except make us swell and arrogantly stay away from the reality - the message underneath and its value to our life. And yes, faith is dangerous is used without understanding. It brings a laundry list of issues into the lives of its practitioners. Well done, Bro! ![]() |
Imagine a guy with a colored belt planning to try I, gigantor! No more fear in todays world! You don see where I demonstrate and opponent faint before? You go dey sing "come and see american wonder" Anyway, drop kick or flying tackle, the point here is we, Christians believe the Bible as is, was determined to become as it is TODAY by the Almighty. Using whatever peoples and understandings He found useful, He looked ahead and decided who and want would fulfill His purpose and put the words He wanted down. He then made it happen and to some, that looks like chance. Fie! ![]() If we believe God is an understanding that has supreme power, knowledge and capability, then He surely must be capable of arranging events to suit His particular purpose! That is what I personally believe. The credit for choice of what books went into todays Bible is assumed to belong to the RCC. Foul! My statement of God's supremacy negates that rubbish. We say He can do what He please and then believe His Word was designed by humans. Rubbish with pepperish ingredients (which I've prepared for Krayola's eyes if he tries any silly snake in the monkey shadow moves) and nonsense combined. One pointer to "whose words" is this - anything that is not of God will after awhile peter out, but His, will stay! Why do we (regular people on the street) not discuss the lost books of eden as we do John? Your response to that is a sampling of my first drop kick! ![]() |
In addition to what David has said above, story story, storiiiiii! Anyway, the Prophet to be raised up was to come from their brethren. EVERY SINGLE ONE of ISRAEL's prophets came from Israel. It is your book that has Alexander the great and mohammed as prophets, not the Holy Bible. Every single one of those considered as prophets by Israel showed definite signs that He heard from God. Nobody except mohammed ever thought or felt it was a devil or demon afflicting him. All of them became holier as they grew in God's knowledge and service. Only your guy became more desperate and cruel as time went on. How many Biblical phophets did you notice died from their own evil desires yet remained celebrated? NOT ONE! Na only your guy! A prophet that encourages and even DEMANDS compulsion in religion! Show one of those "brethren" you want to claim as yours today who did the same! |
@ Bruce_Kray: Ol'boy, I get 15 black belts O. Infact, the last time I show face, dem say na colorless belt I go dey wear now. You wan try Fighting Gigantor! ![]() Meanwhile and sincerely, brilliance (even if inspired by swirling popping and crackling smoke) has its limitations. Life can oftentimes, look like a parable and thats what the Bible uses. I remember everything in Physics and Math needed to be shown PROVED! The Bible is not like that - look at your book of John; so what if it was written by someone (not saying it was O) who John told the story to? It remains JOHN's story, abi and THEREFORE John's book. I think this is what Noetic is saying - that understanding will not come from a scholarly/scientific/historic/"gen-gen" approach but rather from a spirit teased point of view i.e. what is it saying, why is it saying it, what lesson do we learn from this etc. I remember tales by mooonlight where Mr. Tortoise said he'd not come back home till he was disgraced. I await the brilliant scientist who will say "its a lie etc". Yaba left still has space for that guy! So why is it the Bible which is in the same manner, purely allegorical, appealing to the mind rather than the intellect that is so vilified for not being scientifically sound? Back to reality - I go like use you practise my colorless belt! ![]() |
@chakulakula: mahmoud (mohammed) is not mentioned in the Bible except as part of the locusts infestation in Revelations. Go read that to know who you are. I'm suprised you all are not even ashamed to open your guts here after what your heroes have been doing in Jos - now you are eating human tongues. Yet you want to hope the Almighty Creator is involved in the insanity you revel in. Lies upon delusions which stood on demonism. The proof od the pudding is in the eating. Your brothers in blood have shown you are locusts, not a desire of God. shame on you all. Chairman V: Finally, you drove my main man DS out of NL. How sad! |
@InesQor: I've been here all along but its always wisdom to show caution in posting when Krayola and Jesoul are around. Wouldn't do to be found foot in mouth at this age. Plus I had to find a way to wrap my tongue around the Ketubim and Nebiim etal. You people want to break my head with Grammar. Wetin I know be say, take the message, not the words or technicality. And I think thats where science and Krayola miss it: the Bible is a message, not a physics textbook that deals with proof. Read it, work with its precepts and ideas, understand the allegories and "type" forms and you will find truth, absolute truth. But when the "Kebulaisms" and "ontologies" and "historicities" come under the searchlight, the truth and reality under the words gets missing and it becomes "hey, the flood was local and covered only Asia". I say, what if ALL humans on earth at that time were only in Asia? Would that to any observer, not be the WHOLE WORLD? Abi Krayola dey Africa dey look the water that time with smoke swirling from nose and mouth? Abeg gimme space jo and if una wahala me again, I do turn Krayola dey pass flying drop-kicks around like sugar for una tea-cup. Ewu over-english people. The Bible is inerrant when you leave the words and pick the message. At that point, Noetic suddenly looks a prophet. Finish! Now, who gets the first drop kick? |
I would trust the Bible for Universal application REALISING there is a distinction between its story of the relationship between God and Israel and the general precepts it teaches (actually, the first could with some thought, be said to be a "type" for the second). BTW, Krayola's theory is brilliant but may not take into consideration everything it needs to. For example, what influences do we know shaped John's life? Is it impossible he could have had Greek influence in much the same way as Krayola, a black yoruba guy, find himself living in the western world? Suppose I were, in 200 years time and after reading Krayola but knowing nothing of the stages in his life, to say how can a Nigerian of his time know so much about Canada and that the supposed Krayola (why do I always want to type "Crayon" and green comes to my mind) is fake or his writings do not belong to him? Which is why I say its not the Bible but the "Interpreters" since we like to fit issues into our own desired understanding |
^^^ Don't ask for an explanation, Bro. Surely you know its a popular gambit - the use of innuendo and baseless allegations to give credence to a fallacy. Next thing, he plays the victim - attacked and persecuted by Christians for being "scientific" i.e. lying through his teeth in this case. |
Yes and Yes+No. Reasons? Read Jesoul and InesQor above! No need wasting time repeating what my seniors have so well explained. ![]() The Word is not for any private interpretation. That is where the problem is - we tend to "intepret" to suit our understanding OR our desire NOT to understand. And in furtherance of what Jesoul said, any book which will contain all situations and circumstances will be as big as time and space itself. The Bible is simply a moral and spiritual guide, not completeness itself. In performing its guiding duties though, it is complete. |
You people should stop beating up, embarrassing and disgracing OOI and its only begotten representative, DeepStout. Pulls out a copy of the, suitable for Deepsight, Kama Sutra and reads (pretends to read) from it: here lies the remains of one of our most dedicated fellows, revered for stout and bedmatics, glorified for being in bed (doing what?) till late afternoon regularly, a bedfellow of anything remotely feminine (rumours point to sexy-goats as well), a worthy ambassador of stilted and perverse arguments, an enemy of Jesus. He will be remembered most sorely by Viaro his NL husband, Maven who he defended in the hope that he was a woman and thus worthy to be attempted and a host of other Nlers. Dust to stout, ashes to thighs, till OOI come to reality. Amin-aa! |
^^^ toneyb:This section is titled: Religion with the underlying sub-title: Share your faith and belief in God or higher powers here. Also @ Oga Toneyb, According to thefreedictionary.com, religion is "Belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe" Again, Religion or better still, religions collectively are worship systems defined by the belief in a higher plane or personage. What then makes a supposedly "non-religious" person come into "Religion" if not that his "refusal to accept" is in itself, just a belief or religion? ![]() Ol'boy, you're as religious as the rest of us and your "moves" don't fool anyone! Else PROVE God doesn't exist cos a belief in NO God is as much a belief/religion as a belief in God ![]() By power of the NL "anointing", I hereby rename you "Pastorless Toneyb" of the Godless belief system! |
@OP: One would assume you have a right over your possessions and decide if to kill a fowl for christmas or wait till your birthday. I think your problem rises from seeing yourself in your own context as a self-existing entity alone and not considering that like any chicken in your backyard, some "thing" that owns you, has a right to decide for you. But then, maybe you believe yourself a liar for feeding your livestock only to kill them (determine their fate) when they mature. @Ogaga: You know there is God. Your own issue is hate and rebellion. Sorry but ain't nothing you can do about Him. Your flatulence will only give you IBS |
@Inesqor: QUOTE @all let's examine something critically, all the evidence i have seen been given by most people is that they watched a documentary, they watch a news. All this are rubbish and bunch of lies, anyone can act a documentary or act a news, the interviews are not real.Take this for example how come osama bin laden who denied responsibility for the 9/11 attacks and one week later admitted he attacks that shows the tricks of technology, even video experts concluded he wasn't the one in the video but somebody who acted on his behalf. As regards the issue of virgins it western that quoted an unknown terrorist who allegedly said there will be 72 virgins for him if he suicide bomb some enemies. If the media cannot trace this words from an authentic source then it is null and void. The west psychologist have long known that many people cannot think for themselves they depend on others view for their conclusions and people have been taken advantage of by this means. They just distribute a pamphlet claiming something that is false or they broadcast it on satellite and most people take it as the most valid evidence for them.if by tomorror our media start broadcasting that Akunyili is the elected president of nigeria i doubt if anyone would claim otherwise, most people would just exclaimed 'they said it,so it is true' let not anyone call black a white for you.We all have eyes and also brain to analyse it.Mutalab was given a fake bomb by CIA secret agents in Yemen who called themselves Yemen Al-qaeda.a bomb that was tested for several month don't tend to fail when ignited. They might claim the bomb failed to ignite but the truth is that it was a fake bomb,it was meant not to ignite but to point accusing finger on Yemen. As for mutalab he was tricked by what he hears on the media that al-qaeda exist in yemen but unfortunately for him he fell into the hands of the so-called al-qaeda the CIA and MOSAD,have you ever imagined how he pass through two airport without being noticed it is very glaring that he was allowed on board even with un-authentic passport.Never base your conclusion on hearing one side story here both sides and then conclusion.Seek the truth UNQUOTE The quote above comes from the guy you're asking questions from. Look at the text in bold. Any point awaiting an answer that shows a brain? Atimes I wonder how some of these people managed to get past age 7. There should be a law against stupidity that goes to this level. |
I thought you claimed it is allah that is the almighty - this would mean your allah killed those people. Anyways, we all know the truth of who the real God is and He didn't kill them. There are consequences to every action just as Global Warming is the consequence of our neglect of the environment. But I wonder - do you have the mental capability to understand that since your brain is loose from banging it against the ground all your life? |
@DeepSight: I eagerly await your comments on easylogic's easy logic in the post above yours. |
viaro:Thank you Viaro. Actually, the guy didn't have any sons but he had 3 daughters named idiot, itchy-fingers and round-heels. unfortunately for him, some arabs felt that was embarrassing to him and so abrogated the verses that specified these three. Very sad to find a religion that not only kills its adherents and everyone unfortunate to be near them but also kills the children of its god. And then again, maybe thats why they have no compunction killing people. If you can kill 3 demons, why should a couple of hundred million "ordinary" people matter. Please lets keep the discussion going |
Deep Sight: Deep Sight:Quote In the NL dictionary, the meaning of DeepSight: fornication, adultery and then more of the same. Unquote Ol'boy, na only you? Sexy goats? |
@slaveofallah: There is a section reserved for all you slaves of allah. Please go there ![]() |
@Viaro: Chairman, my respects as always. Just a point here - I wonder if these people ever consider what they suggest when they keep going "He is the Vine, we the Branches" or "He is the Head, we the body" and make it LITERAL PHYSICAL RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW as in cut off Jesus Head and both He and this body will die! Is it just me or is there implied the idea that without us, there can be NO God or Jesus? I thought God could raise up the very stones in lieu of anybody. Isn't WOF suggesting God is nothing without this "us"? |
^^^ You say Jesus is Head and we the body. Fine - that is Biblical. Well, whist Jesus walked earth, even HE said he was Man. We know He is God but maybe, just maybe, He looked into the future and saw WOF and decided to clarify and show humility by claiming Manhood. Where's your own humility. Plus we all know you are sin-filled men. Now, the Lord is spirit. Does your physical body have a literal "spirit" head. Why not wait till you're spirit before you claim what is of the spirit? Then, did you ever visit the Spirit World? Is it the same as the Physical world? Why do you assume that a perfectly allegorical statement is literal. Jesus is Head, you are the body. What part are you? blood cell or blood clot? Or waste waiting to be expelled in the smallest room in the house? I can just imagine what part you all are. Why can't you people get the truth - There is One God. Moses said it, so did Elijah, so did Jesus. When people called Paul a "god", the guy went demented frantically correcting them (Paul O, who claimed to live off his JOB and not any man's offerings yet wrote all the stuff you're mis-representing today) and here we have you guys claiming divinity yet you say its "strong meat" for balanced people who study prayerfully the Bible. What do you do except read pamphlets and listen to staged television shows. Evidence? - consider the one who said Jesus never called them Brethren till He resurrected. See how Viaro's rebuttal of that "lie from hell" made him go slinking away. Strong meat? Bah, Its like you guys have been sniffing cheap gum and not getting enough sleep |
in Christianity, God dies for you. In Islam, you die for Allah Christianity is a personal experience. Islam is a 'taught' religion If you believe they have the same ultimate source, consider - white, black, asian etc. All came from one source too. Am I then you or you a mongol? |
Basically, if you're not a liar, you're not Christian, abi? Well as I said, what you need do is set tasks a god ought be able to do, fail them as is inevitable then realise you're delusional and ask forgiveness. The Word of God states some people will serve in Spirit AND in truth FOR SUcH God seeks. When truth rather than delusions comes into your life, you will truly be free. Till then Bro, keep worshipping man i.e. Yourself and your false christs |
Did you two by any chance ever compete for the same woman? |
