^^ Bias?? huh

I stood by Buhari openly and still do. So my politics is same as Sanusi's!

I stand by Non interest banking NO MATTER what name you call it. So my issue is not with NIB.

But I also know that leaders do not resort to garb or lies. And that was what OP said that I disagree with

Oh okay, he prefers gist with the cows in the NASS to "bear" parlours like NL ehn?

No wonder he gets applause - he's like a pastor on the pulpit and can get away with anything since there's no opposition to his sermons
BusinessRe: Listening To Sanusi, I Am Proud To Be A Nigerian! by nuclearboy(m): 7:11am On Jul 28, 2011
Funny Jarus!

So people are impressed when your dude talks ehn? And you actually said that after seeing the reference to a much greater orator in the person of Adolph Hitler?

Why not tell us how great Hitler too was since he had an even greater power of speech?

I agree totally with okada_man. Bring him online and we'll eat him like catfish soup

Chairman Gists:

My posts will show I supported Buhari and still believe he'd have been better.

The problem with Sanusi is the lies and not the idea - they force upon us the questions of his sincerity. Once a man discredits himself, all he says will be suspect.

I am not complaining about Islamic banking but Sanusi's character which Enyojo felt deserving of the presidency.

We've had enough of manipulators

@enyojo:

I'm glad others have come here to show you how believable you should find Sanusi.

Granted - he is gifted of garb and quite intelligent but this time, the bigotry made him lie to support his assertions and truth has found him out.

I personally like the idea of non-interest banking and will gladly use Jaiz Bank if offered the opportunity. But it is wrong and smacks of insincerity and a hidden agenda to lie, twist facts and railroad people using oratory prowess.

Which is why I mentioned Hitler.

Don't take the harsh comments above to heart - we all learn more daily
BusinessRe: Listening To Sanusi, I Am Proud To Be A Nigerian! by nuclearboy(m): 6:42pm On Jul 27, 2011
I am surprised at your comments coming from YOU. I see you as one of the few really sharp honest and intelligent posters who see things from an all-inclusive framework on NL and so the above comes as a surprise.

Leaders see past emotion, past foibles BUT also have to carry others along. What this dude displayed is just a gift of garb and he doesn't come close to Adolph Hitler who was (?) great, ?

1. Anambra has officially called him a liar who misrepresented facts (whether beneficial or not, why did he lie?) over this issue. Lying (a forked tongue) subtracts from his CV

2. Three (3) windows exist in NIB - why not give a blanket license knowing Jaiz owners can then decide not to support "pork" or "alchohol"? Why heat up Nigeria over a name?

3. Do true leaders damn their "lesser-brained" society? Insisting this is occasioned by global realities knowing this could cause another religious pogrom is NOT the sign of a true leader of men (except you see such as Hitler as leaders).

Its alright though - you still have a fan in me. Nobody could expect you to be perfect

^^ Hey Mac, don't go yet!

We need to broadcast too that having gotten to number 2, we excel in using the money on 11 (or is it 12) presidential jets when our colonial masters who remain much wealthier, use commercial airlines for Queen and PM. And when Obama has guests on Airforce-1, he pays commercial rates out of his own pocket on behalf of his guests so the USA is not cheated.

We need broadcast too that we spend Billions of that money handing over power from left hand to right hand of the same person while there are no jobs for millions who are bombed daytime by BH, shot evenings by soldiers, robbed nights by robbers and obtained mornings by police.

We need to broadcast that even now, a significant portion of what's will be earned this year is likely being earmarked as "compensation" for the 2 legislative houses to thank them for changing tenure to 10 (or more) years. Note that "or more" will induce larger Ghana must go bags.

Yep, let's keep celebrating- hip hip hip < fresh air!

Christianity EtcRe: "Why Evangelicals Should Stop Evangelizing" by nuclearboy(m): 7:30pm On Jul 26, 2011
Biblically, the good samaritan seems to me to have been "certified" by no less than Christ, at least concerning the issue of love. Same with the Ethiopian. While I will not go so far as to say the brief stories of them justified them, its also instructive that the "justification" they received did not come with a doctrinal shift - it came on the basis of a lifestyle of "love".

Issue then is - do you need to claim a religion or set of doctrines to have the same justification of God?

Let's assume there are 25 promises since one was just "rhetorics"! Each would then be marked 4%.

I wager this dude will get 0%. From promising 1 term to fixing ALL roads leading to Anambra, NONE will be adhered to. We already saw how zoning died to get him to his dream but resurrected for others. We already saw how he signed 18000 as minimum wage into law to get votes but is now dancin around the issue. We saw the noise about power and how that has taken a back seat to an extension of his time in Aso Rock. We see how "hitting The ground running" translated into no FEC for weeks on end (and this from a guy who has been president upwards of a year. This is a guy who came to power with just one target - get to power!

If he gets 8%, I'll swallow my BlackBerry

PoliticsRe: What Is The Meaning Of Ode Chukwu? by nuclearboy(m): 5:41pm On Jul 14, 2011
lets be honest -- If you wish to use the term the "yoruba" way and according to yoruba language constructs, you will find NO way "God" is involved.

"Olu - wa" is "Lord - our" thus "Ode - Chukwu" would be directly "fool god". But Oluwa becomes "OUR Lord" thus you would have Odechukwu as "God's Fool" i.e. A God certified "fool", which any Yoruba will tell you was the intended meaning i.e. They meant that the butt of the joke is a "fool" certified by even the Almighty Himself and thus irredemable.

In effect, if there is no desire to deliberately turn a joke into an issue, what we ought be complaining about is that most if not all of the people calling the president such a derogatory name are being disrespectful, not only to his Office, but also to his age as most are definitely younger and would not wish their fathers called such a name.

Aside this, there is NO way the term can refer to OR insults God in the faintest manner.
Christianity EtcRe: Judge Not by nuclearboy(m): 7:24am On Jul 12, 2011
Its fair to say anyone running away from judgement is NOT a Christian for the simple reason that they know they are condemned is why the fear.

The scriptures teach that men hate righteousness and love darkness. Exposing the darkness in men's lives pricks their consciences, makes uncomfortable and evokes wrath. Men do not want their deeds to be judged in any way because they love their sin more than they love their own lives, and don’t want to be reminded of where their sins will lead. However, even if we keep quiet, they are left without excuse. "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened." (Romans 1:18-21)

For people who need the Gospel. (even when they profess Christianity) Christianly rebuke would be offensive to them. To the Christian, proper rebuke and instruction in the Word of God is as precious as fine jewelry, but to those who despise the Word of God, rebuke is received in much the same way as hurled stones.

That is why such people rush to misquote and misapply Bible verses.
As Jesus said: “Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample upon them"
Christianity EtcRe: Judge Not by nuclearboy(m): 7:21am On Jul 12, 2011
^^ its a ridiculous collection of misapplied and quoted out of context scripture

What the Bible actually says is "Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you."

It does NOT say not to judge. Rather, we are to keep judgments fair, honest, and consistent. Christians understands the Gospel, which at the most basic level states that in order to inherit eternal life one must repent of his sins and trust that the sacrifice made by Jesus our Savior on the cross is sufficient to pay the penalty for sins. Thus it is fair, honest, and consistent to hold others to the standard of the Gospel.

Jesus was also rebuke the standards of the Pharisees, which asked  righteousness and sacrifice from the laity, while the leadership was itself corrupt. Jesus was rebuking those who imposed a “do what I say, not what I do” standard on others. Your friend (and nemesis) Paul clarified this in Romans 2:1 - "Therefore you have no excuse, everyone of you who passes judgment, for in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things."

Basically then, he is saying "you judge something wrong then do the same which means you condemn yourself"

Jesus often commanded Christians to judge - e.g. later in chapter seven, beginning with verse fifteen, Jesus said to beware of false prophets.

How do you beware of false prophets if you're not permitted to judge them false in the first place? He goes on to explain that bad fruit comes from a bad tree. If the fruit of a prophet/MoG is unbecoming of a believer in Christ, it is not only safe to judge him false, we are commanded to do so.

John states in 7:24 "Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment." How do you judge with righteous judgement if you cannot judge?

Luke 12:57 - "And why do you not even on your own initiative judge what is right?" How do you avoid judging if you are to obey Christ's Words here?

Paul stressed  that righteous judgment is not forbidden. 1 Corinthians 6:1-3 " Does any one of you, when he has a case against his neighbor, dare to go to law before the unrighteous and not before the saints? Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? If the world is judged by you, are you not competent to constitute the smallest law courts? Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more matters of this life?" Therefore in cases concerning Christians, believers MUST judge themselves instead of going to the world for judgement.

The above proves judgment is not forbidden by scriptures as many non-Christians pretending to be Christians try to force Matthew 7:1 to say. Rather, judgment should be done in righteousness.

Interestingly, the entirety of scripture, among other things, is written to enable believers to correctly judge right from wrong and thus - we are to rebuke, reprove, and call others to repentance BUT we are to be willing to be held to the same standard we hold others to.

Finally, to those who say that it’s wrong to judge, your statement is in itself a judgment. It is self-contradictory and logically fallacious.

^^ Well, and according to the gentleman Paris, he wants to go to church EXCEPT if he doesn't have cash and that only BECAUSE of a greedy pastor. Rather than tell him not to go, my point is that he should ignore the noise and face God alone

And even use it to help others going through the same experience
Christianity EtcRe: I No Longer Go To Church If I'm Skint (no Money), Can't Stand The Pressure! by nuclearboy(m): 10:27am On Jul 10, 2011
^^ Paris goes to church BECAUSE of God! So such as me expects his only concern is God. While you are not a Christian, I am. For me, its very VERY easy to go into church, listen and worship, side-sit to allow the dancing hordes to go pay their god_pastor his dues then be the first to walk up to pastor and say hi after the service. Reason why its simple is because I am looking unto God, not man.

Christians carry their cross. If that is his, he should pick it - its certain a few others are there with the same mindset who are weaker than he is who also are confused and unhappy. Such action might encourage them and bring sanity BECAUSE when pastor "jaguda" sees many sitting through his nonsense, he will likely know the game is up.

Embarrassment is a synonym for Christianity, by the way. Your only reward is knowing you did right and stood against evil

In more elementary words (for dolts like you), when he has to give (as evidenced by his words that he has atimes), it ought to go to those who "need" help not the thieving pastor.

In effect, his offering henceforth ought consist only of smiles IN CHURCH whether he has OR not.

But we are assured - Jo'll be back and will re-commence preaching the EXACT same drivel - proving he is delibarately spreading falsehood
Christianity EtcRe: I No Longer Go To Church If I'm Skint (no Money), Can't Stand The Pressure! by nuclearboy(m): 5:21am On Jul 10, 2011
Go, sit and smile through the pressure, look around, find someone who your heart tells you is needy and give him or her everything (offering, gift, whatever). Then thank God, smile at pastor and go home. If NOT led to anyone in church, visit an orphanage - every mite counts.

But keep smiling at the pastor knowing that smile is your offering to him
