Good morning

There's this big red tomatoes they sell here in the East and they said it's bought from Jos.

Is there a way you can inquire from your friend the name of the seed?

Also does your friend plant green bell pepper cos I have an important question as regards that crop?

Thank you.
yahyus02:
I base in Jos and have a friend who sells perishables at the famous farin gada market here in Jos.
Technology MarketRe: Is NIPOST Deliberately Withholding Phones Ordered From Aliexpress? by numen(m): 9:44pm On Sep 21, 2020
Next time don't be absolute in your submissions. If we can get SARS to return citizens stolen funds, get court-marshaled and jailed often on Twitter, we can get NIPOST to come up with policies and strategies that will put an end to this behavior and of course get his package returned.

It mustn't be a one way approach. The above can be done while pursuing other angles for solution.

amaifehenry:
Then you will be wasting your time and data. Nipost is a government parastatal, they enjoy anonymity. You can do video and Post no positive feedback will come through. This is not fedEx or DHL that employs people to manage their SM handles. The best you get is what I’m offering you here. It’s a good thing your packages are registered and not LC. This means it’s insured. Now you have two options. A. Wait for a week or so for your package to arrive. But if the shipper (Aliexpress) has said delivered or reached your local post office and you’ve not seen it after checking your local post office, then file for a missing package. Investigation will be carried out ASAP and you will be paid simple.
Technology MarketRe: Is NIPOST Deliberately Withholding Phones Ordered From Aliexpress? by numen(m): 6:06pm On Sep 21, 2020
Please take this report to Twitter and tag both Nipost and other relevant bodies. You'll get swifter response and action there.
Valentinooo:
On the 7th of March, I ordered a phone which was shipped on the 18th of March. Ever since then, nothing has been heard of it.
The memory card I intended to use with the phone was ordered two days later, and that one has since arrived.

From the lamentations on the aliexpress thread, I noticed a lot of people are also in my situation.
They bought phones which refused to deliver whereas the accessories they ordered days after ordering the phone got delivered.

This lead to the assumption that nipost staffs are deliberately holding on to these phones for reasons best known to them.

I don't want to believe these phones are being stolen by those that are meant to deliver them to us.

Why will I buy a phone with my hard earned money only for it to be stolen by people who are meant to deliver the phone?

This is corporate robbery and should be condemned.

How will a phone come all the way from China without missing only for it to get to Nigeria and get missing?

I have to create this new thread to make our plight known to the whole world.

I have also tagged those who are having this same issue.

Hello everyone,

I Did my first trial on cucumber farming and I Did my first harvest today glory be to God Almighty it was beyond my expectations.
When I wanted to start farming I googled about Cucumber farming and found this thread then I join nairaland, I read this thread from page 1 to page 92. I was eager to succeed against all odds and today it has started paying.
I planted 50g cu999 even though am in Lagos and people kept saying I won't sell n it's 2.5k or 3k for a bag. But from all I read here cu999 is much easier to cultivate, so I went on against all odds.
I did my first harvest today and got 12 bags and sold all today at 4k per bag. Glory be to Jesus.
I sincerely appreciate all the support I got from everyone one especially Mr Okoro Emeka and ideepaul, I always call Mr Okoro Emeka for assistance and he always came through. Thank u sir for what u do, may God reward u both with Long life in Jesus name Amen.

I want to believe it will be the same for everybody (excluding transportation).

Why don't you drop it here so people can contact you if they can afford it.

Bro, is the Platinum F1 a Technisem or East-West product? What's your take on continental's Maxim?

Thanks.
jidestroud:
Oh Platinum F1. Good one; High resistant variety to damping off disease.

Hr: ToMV, Vd
Ir: BW, TYLCV
Maturity: 60 - 70 days

Type: Roma small determinate

Fruit weight: 70 - 80 grams

I'm really interested in your staking methods. From the picture uploaded, are you sure those trellis would hold? (Well, the platinum fruits ain't that big though so I guess your method might just pull through).

I have other suggestions you could employ by the way.

Those are nymphs of stink bugs. I also sight them on my pepper farm. So far I've used methomyl and Abamectin against them. I'm watching to see what happen. There effect:

"To obtain their food, stink bugs use their stylets to pierce the plant tissue to extract the plant fluids. [32] In doing so, the plant loses necessary fluids, which can lead to deformation of seeds, destruction of seeds, destruction of fruiting structures, delayed plant maturation, and increased vulnerability to harmful pathogens. [32] While harvesting the plant's juices, the stink bug injects saliva into the plant, creating a dimpling of the fruit's surface and rotting of the material underneath." - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_marmorated_stink_bug

Thank you for your input.

okoroemeka:
the general yellow of the leafs with greenish veins is caused by poor soil and nutrient deficiency, but I can see on the down left side the beginning of Downy mildrew and on the top right side leaf miner with white lines on leafs,to prevent such nutrient deficiency on such poor soils, chicken manure must be applied before planting and applied again before flowering, then npk can take over

Did you uproot it before taking the picture or you took the pic as it was in your farm? If the latter, it looks like the roots are exposed.

Hi,

Is there a reason to transplant to grow bags first instead of directly to soil?

FarmTech:
.
You can but I don't think it is the best. The cans will rust with time and making drain holes will be harder. Why not sow on a nursery bed and later transplant to single grow bags or even pure water satchets.

Cypermethrin (Cyper force active ingredient), is a non-systemic insecticide with contact and stomach action. It also exhibits anti-feeding action.

No they're not suffering and boreholes work. In some places it's hard to get water while in some it's very easy. The problem is usually "hard water."

Going through your facebook page now. I am impressed.

jethro2:
Good day sir
Yes. I come in once in a while to read on agriculture section. I restrict my agricultural writtings and farm pictures to my Facebook timeline

The 30cm spacing work excellently for cucumber provided you are staking them

I could send you some pictures of the cucumbers we did and the current one on the farm using the same spacing through WhatsApp or other means.

The yield automatically increase because there is more plant giving you fruits

The main point is to make sure your soil is rich in nutrients through poultry waste and cow dung so the plants will not compete

At one point of harvest, we harvested 35 bags of cucumbers from 5 raised bed of 2m *25m lenght

80 of such raised beds can be mapped out from an acre

I tried attaching it here but it's not responding.
I would have love to attach here

You can also Google cucumber raised bed farming with my name Yinka Adesola, I believe several of the pictures, past and current will spring up

The system was first introduced to my team by IFDC as back as 2014

It's a highly productive system for cucumber

OluchiDelly:
I am very familiar with the Cameroon pepper. The peppery level no be for here, avenir is still a learner for pungency.
SW dont patronize it, I have not seen d fresh ones in SW b4. It is only SE that patronize it in Lagos market, and not even fresh, the black dry ones.
For better marketability, if I want to commercialize it, I wl need to learn how to dry it. The dry ones are very expensive here, just 2pcs inside small cone-shaped nylon is N20 in Lagos. And that 2pcs is more peppery than other N50 convectional pepper.
But why is it black in dry state while other pepper wl maintain their red colour in same dry state? And how does one dry it?
I believe it is blanched before drying and that makes it dark in colour.
