Politics › Re: SARS Stops Pan Niger Delta Forum Meeting In River by nwabobo: 3:56pm On Oct 26, 2017 |
Desyner: Heavily armed police officers and men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS in the early morning of today (Thursday) barricaded Hotel Presidential, Port Harcourt, where the Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF is supposed to hold its fourth session.
The policemen parked Hilux buses at the entrance of the hotel, thereby preventing vehicles from GRA to gain access to Aba Road, just as they prevented vehicles from moving into the expansive hotel from the back gate.
The meeting, which was supposed to commence at 10 a.m. could not hold, as some of the delegates who had arrived were turned back, and told that the meeting cannot hold “because of national interest.”

Family › Re: Estranged Husband Breaks Into Wife's House And Carts Away All Her Properties by nwabobo: 9:40am On Oct 26, 2017 |
temple2grace: Good morning FAM,
Please my friend's mum is in a very dire situation. The husband left her 1993 with six kids to nurture and train without any assistance save for putting her and the kids up in a four bedroom bungalow.
She single handedly trained the kids through school. Infact the eldest son made a first class and is currently out of the country.
She traveled to visit one her children only to return and discovered that all her properties have been carted away. The gate of house was broken same with the doors. On enquiry her estranged husband claimed responsibility and told her he sold the house.
She reported the matter to the police, the police made attempt to recover few of her properties. Now the few properties was returned to the said sold house. The man seems highly connected as a call was put through to AIG zone 9 who squashed the case. Now the IPO can't do anything. To make matters worse, the estranged husband colluded with some persons who claimed to have bought the house to make a report at the State CID that they bought the house with her properties. Only God knows how much they used to bribe them. She was arrested alongside her daughter. She managed to contact a lawyer through the help of her former IPO and was granted bail. Enugu State police command without recourse to the former case file visited the house and moved her properties away.
She is currently homeless and being treated like a criminal. Further enquiry revealed that one Mr Uche Eluke of radio Nigeria in conjunction with one construction company Toshel Nigeria wants to buy the house at a price far below the market value. The estranged husband is currently in his seventies is eager to dispose the house which according to my friends mum they built together but the man tricked her and made the house documents in his name. They have vowed to put the woman behind bars, according to them they will show my friends family that this is Nigeria where money can do anything.
Please your help and suggestions is needed to save a wonderful woman. He also claims to have some voice recordings of what transpired. Please mods help get this to front page. I won't comment until I hear the man's side of the story. |

somehow: Prove it from the links I just posted.
The founders of these schools are on the links Mr man. I don't really have time to start posting history of some of these privately owned academies but their names are online and readable. This is how I have to say.
Just check out these ones: Website www.hazelwoodschool.co.uk
The school was established in 1890 as a boarding school for boys aged 8–13 by Edward Baily and his wife Ruth.
Baily bought the land from the Titsey Place estate as he loved the views of the Weald and the Ashdown Forest and thought the site healthy and bracing. The first cohort of 38 pupils was accommodated and taught in a purpose-built Victorian building that remains at the centre of the school today.
The Ørestad College will be the first in Denmark to fulfil new educational visions regarding subjects, organisation and teaching systems. For Ørestad College, can you slso see that the owner (client) is the Copenhagen municipality ie Copenhagen Local council. |

somehow: Academics are higher than primary and secondary schools, that's what it is, so lets compare likes for likes. That's my point. Most of the pictures you posted are that of academics. You can look up the difference online. The coalition government is inviting all schools in England to become academies and encouraging parents to set up their own schools, called free schools. The Academies Bill, which paves the way for these changes, is currently being debated in the House of Commons. The BBC News website examines key questions about academies and free schools. What is an academy? Academies are publicly funded schools which operate outside of local authority control. The government describes them as independent state-funded schools. Essentially, academies have more freedom than other state schools over their finances, the curriculum, and teachers' pay and conditions. A key difference is that they are funded directly by central government, instead of receiving their funds via a local authority. In addition, they receive money which would previously have been held back by the local authority to provide extra services across all schools, such as help for children with special educational needs. This is estimated to range from 4 to 10% of the funds allocated to the school. Academies do not have to follow the national curriculum. They can choose their own curriculum, as long as it is "broad and balanced". Don't academies exist already?
Yes, there are more than 200 of them in England at the moment, all secondary schools. They were established by the Labour government, seen as a way of turning around the worst-performing schools and schools in disadvantaged areas. Under Labour, academies had to have sponsors - who invested up to £2m in return for receiving state funding directly from central government. Sponsors included businesses, church groups, charitable trusts and private schools. New academies were usually established with state-of-the-art buildings and the philosophy that transforming children's environment would help them engage more with learning. Academies set up before 2007 were able to set their own curriculum, but those which came afterwards had to teach the national curriculum in English, maths and science. Those academies will have to renegotiate their agreements with the government to to get the new academy freedoms over the curriculum. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10161371 |

They are more of a specialist kind of school and most are more equipped than average primary or secondary schools. I hope you understand? Bottom line is that in the context of Primary, secondary and tertiary or higher education, the do not offer tertiary or higher education. |

There's no point going back and forth with your likes, coz you people are well-known for your twisted thinking. If you say we should commend Ogbeni for building nice schools which are high class in Nigeria standard, we'd do but saying they are world class is a fallacy. Only a few secondary schools in Nigeria like Atlantic hall, ABTI and British international schools measure up to international standard. |

WisdomFlakes: Why are you people like this?? In line with what sonnie10 said, there are some less better looking schools in the same U.S/California with lesser facilities than some of the ones in Osun that people like you would be quick to consider as world-class, but out of your self-hatred, bitterness, jealousy and envy, you have deliberately chosen to exhibit your bad-belle rather than give you credit where it is due. Smh. There is no school in the UK or the US that has got lesser facilities and equipment than any school in Osun state. There's a minimum standard and no school in Osun would even qualify based on that minimum standard. And besides, my responses were to a specific post which is this below sonnie10: I challenge you to post a pic or two of any high school anywhere in the world that the building structure is better than this. |
