Sigoal: President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday arrived Banjul, Gambia for talks with Gambia’s embattled President, Yahya Jammeh.
Jammeh had earlier asked the high Level ECOWAS mediation mission led by Buhari not to come to Banju on Wednesday for peace talks. But Buhari had pushed forward his visit to Friday (today) . The Gambia is expected to inaugurate a new president on January 19, but despite losing the December 1 election, President Jammeh had insisted he won’t step down. See photos below…
NaMeAboki: Predicted and much anticipated, there is also recent confirmation that the find in Borno, at Gajigana, is of commercial quantity (photo below); awaiting also Sokoto and Niger State to follow, soon some ppl will be calling themselves parasites. Congratulations to Benue State.
When will you people be tired of lies with fake pictures?
Donvictor75: Op that's not true.. .the man called it off before the lady posted It on her fb Page get the fact right.. ..meanwhile she at deleted it after many insult she got from people who visited her wall.
Yes she deleted her post after you and your fellow Nairalanders invaded her wall with you in particular posting screenshots from Nairaland. True or false?
adeaks: You got this from the comment of someone on her page and you automatically assumed it to be true.
By the way, the guy in question simply called off the wedding without any drama or accusations. Why is it that it is third parties that are crying even more than the berieved?
But the initial post of her fiance calling off the wedding because he caught her cheating was also gotten from someone's comment on his post, wasn't it?
Godstraight: do u even know the meaning of norminal GDP?,purchasing power purity?do you know Nigeria has the largest in Africa ?,do you know southafrican biggiest company dstv and mtn make 50% of their profit in Nigeria?, do also know south Africa has a populated of 53 million compare to Nigeria 193million?,removing the 46% of Nigerians living below poverty lines will still almost 90 million middle/upper class folks, talking about Honda how do even expect them to displace Toyota,we the largest importers in this continent sadly the third largest exporters
You sound like Buhari, an economic illiterate.
For GDP per capita which is the most important GDP measurement seeing that it takes population into consideration, South Africa ranks 87th in the world while Nigeria ranks 12th.
How many people buy new cars in Nigeria? You are not ashamed that Nigeria is one of the largest importers of used cars globally? And you want to compare importation of used cars to new cars? Smh
xmileeasy: Their mouths are double edge sword. Human lives are not valuable to them. Anything can be done just to cling to power. Them no even respect God again sef
Did you listen to the audio at all? Wike said he stormed the collation centre with the people even though the centre was filled with armed military men daring them (the Armed force men) to kill everybody if they can.
Speaking as someone who knows people whose lives were affected badly by fake imported drugs, I doubt that NAFDAC or someone in government would deliberately taint rice to stop Nigerians from eating imported rice.
Also, keep in mind that not every importer of rice are good people....some of them are bad people who won't mind importing substadard products so that they can make quick money....it does not matter to them if people die. Thank God NAFDAC is at least trying to stop them.
And keep in mind also that there are good importers whose imported products pass NAFDAC tests too.
If you like....eat tainted rice. Na you wey go suffer. As for me....high time we stopped being a dumping ground for all sorts of tainted products. It is in our interest.
So what tainted the rice? Care to let us know?
The tweets below were from the Minister of Health before NAFDAC were apparently coarse into rowing the path of propaganda set out by govt to save forex by discouraging consumption of foreign rice.
With reference to the post sbout a guy cancelling a wedding because his fiancee was cheating on him, I decided to tour their fb profiles for more info.
Information gleaned from the Facebook page of the girl seems to suggest that the girl was the one who called off the wedding apparently because of a guy based abroad.
post=52382258: The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has released its findings on a test conducted on the much talked-about plastic rice.
The acting Director-General of the agency, Yetunde Oni, made public the findings at a press briefing on Thursday in Abuja.
Below are 5 key of her points:
1. Mrs Oni said that though the rice was found not to be plastic, contrary to media reports, it was still “unwholesome for human consumption”.
2. Mrs. said that the rice failed NAFDAC integrity test which thus ruled it out for human consumption.
3. She noted that ‘based on the laboratory result, the product is not plastic but rice contaminated with microorganisms above permissible limit.”
4. She said the consignment would be destroyed once handed over by the Nigeria Customs Service.
5. It was also revealed that several metric tons of expired and dangerous rice are still lying in wait at warehouses in neighboring countries with Nigeria as their target markets.
This is nothing but scare mongering to scare people aware from buying foreign rice. There us nothing wrong with that rice but they just have to play along with the govt on their plan.
omofunaab: I have told you sarkin doesn't mean king, it's more like leader ,Emir might mean king, according to Wikipedia Eze means king. What's the meaning of ezedike?
You still haven't told me what 'King' means in Hausa if not 'Sarki'.
If Sarki means leader, what is Jagoran, Jagaban & Shugaban?
amnesty7: And this is where Nigeria's greatness lies: population. Ask all these multinational corporations, especially the telecoms. But many people coming here will rather see the mud below instead of the beautiful sky above. May God continue to bless Nigeria for us. Amen.
You got it wrong there. Nigeria's market size is not equivalent to its population but rather to the size of the population that has got the purchasing power. Can Honda come and establish a plant in Nigeria because their population is almost 200M when SA with a much smaller population presents a bigger market for their product? How many Nigerians can afford to buy a new Honda?
I'm sorry, Nigeria doesn't have a big market size, except for basics like rice and bathroom slippers.
Zuzer: Really? Igbos have zero respect for their host communities. They are the only ones you'll see calling Lagos a no man's land and expecting to be treat nicely. Instead, they call their host's generosity weakness or intimidation
What generosity? Are the Igbos living in Lagos given free accomodation, houses or land to build their structures? Don't they pay commensurate value to what ever space they occupy their apart from the daily extortion from area boys.
Nobody is accommodating anybody except you house and maybe feed tge person free of charge.
omofunaab: Did the sarkin hausawa disrespect the king?
Stick to the topic. The post I responded to said there is already a king in Akure and no need for another one hence I pointed out that there is a 'Sarkin' (King) Hausawa in Akure.
GMBuhari: Oh and we already heard about your bloody victory party that you invited Fayose to
After hearing all the bribes and threats to INEC official, FG know where you were and when you were there, if you needed to be eliminated , that's the easiest way
Oh and you, your police and DSS were blind to this?
How silly. Zero sense. So the asiwaju or whatever will understand Igbo culture enough to pilot the affairs of the igbos over there? This is stupid to say the least
The Asiwaju will be an Igbo man but that is still not right.
Originalsly: Hmmm..... 15 storey skyscraper.... is the sky that low?.... may barely qualify as a high rise. It is not completed... but will be the temporary site of the State's College of Medicine.... makes me wonder in what year would the College be completed?...and how much the State has invested in this project.... I doubt whether the doctor can finance this on his own... but it's much better it is in his hands than that of the State.
I do not know what your intent is.
Yes, the building is solely financed by Dr. Godwin Mmaduka. Prior to this, he had been involved in many other projects in his village. He built 100 houses and gave all to widows 2 years ago. Before this one, he's built a 5 storey hospital which is up and running in his community. He built a fully equipped police station and donated patrol vehicles to the police. He also built and equipped an ultra modern high court complex.
