Crime9-year-old Neighbor Abducts 4-year-old Boy In Kano by NwaNimo1(op): 3:37pm On Aug 08, 2021
Kano State Hisbah Board has confirmed the abduction of a 4-year-old boy, identified as Musa by a 9-year-old boy, Abubakar, at Dandishe in Dala Local Government area of the state.

Narrating the incident on Saturday, Hisbah, in a statement by its spokesman, Lawan Fagge, said the disappearance of Musa prompted his parents to lodge complaint at the Dala Division of the command.

Musa’s parents, according to the spokesman, said their son was last seen being carried by Abubakar on his back, and since then all efforts to trace his whereabouts proved unsuccessful.

Mr Fagge said Abubakar was arrested alongside his parents when intelligence unit of the Hisbah launched investigation to unravel the truth behind the mysterious disappearance of the four-year old boy.

During interrogation, Abubakar claimed that he was asked to abduct Musa by one man and he since handed the boy over to him.

“When Abubakar was asked if he could recognize the man, he answered in affirmative and led the Hisbah personnel to one motor workshop at Kofar Ruwa and said the head of the workshop is the one who asked him to abduct the boy.

“When Hisbah started interrogating the workshop owner, who identified himself as Malam Uba Tofa, an ex soldier, said he didn’t know anything about the matter and had never seen Abubakar in his life.

“The Hisbah officials then realised that Abubakar was lying and was unable to tell the whereabouts of his abductee for up to four days,” Mr Fagge said in the statement.

As the investigation was ongoing, on the fifth day, Abubakar confessed to have abducted Musa and dumped him at one pit at Kofar Dawanau.

Abubakar then led the Hisbah personnel to where he dumped Musa but he was nowhere to be found.

However, following a thorough search, Musa was later found hale and hearty at the resident of the ward head of Kofar Dawanau.

On his part, the Director General of Hisbah, Aliyu Kibiya, charged the residents of Dandinshe to remain calm as the command would not relent in its efforts to do justice for the abducted boy and commitment to eradicate all forms of vices in the area and beyond.

Speaking, Abubakar’s father, Malam Abdullahi, commended hisbah officials for their dedication and commitment to rescue the boy, promising to be more vigilant to avoid future recurrence.

On his part, Malam Babangida, the father of Musa, expressed his gratitude to Allah for making it possible to reunite with his son alive.

PoliticsIpob’s Sit-at-home : Absentee Workers Will Forfeit August Salary, Obiano by NwaNimo1(op): 2:57pm On Aug 08, 2021
Any government worker in Anambra who abstains from office on Monday because of the sit-at-home order by the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, will forfeit his or her August salary, Governor Willie Obiano has threatened.

This was contained in a circular to heads of all the Ministries and parastaltals by the Head of Service HOS, Harry Uduh.

The government asked all Commissioners and Permanent Secretaries to monitor compliance in the State and report back

It reads: “The Government of Anambra State has directed that all workers in the State must attend to their duties on Monday 9th August 2021 as failure to do so will result in severe sanctions including loss of Salary for the month of August.

“All Hon. Commissioners and Permanent Secretaries are to monitor and report compliance please.

” Kindly give this information the widest publicity in your Establishment.” HOS.

Fear of possible attack has gripped residents but Anambra Police Command said there was no cause for alarm

Speaking with The Nation, Anambra Police spokesman, Ikenga Tochukwu, said their duty was to protect lives and property of the residents

He said the Command with the other sister agencies would make sure no harm would befell any citizen as they move about their normal businesses

Before the circular on Sunday, the State government had made it clear residents should ignore the order by IPOB and go about their normal businesses.

But many residents said they would stick to the safe option of staying away.

One of the traders said even if the government offered her N1m to go to the market she would not accept.

“Those people behave like wild animals. I have my family to take care of. if I die now, who will take care of them? IPOB members are not human beings,” she stated.

A government worker in one of the ministries told The Nation he would monitor the situation first before any taking decision.

He said it would be better to lose one month salary than his life in the hands of the ‘beasts’ when he was nearing his retirement period.

“No one will like to disobey government directive but the IPOB members are heartless.

” They are the “unknown gunmen”, nobody knows their minds. It’s a difficult situation for the workers in Anambra,” the worker said.

PoliticsLottery And Gaming Industry To Generate ₦100 Billion Yearly For Nigeria by NwaNimo1(op): 10:54am On Aug 06, 2021
Amid growing concerns of low revenue generated from the lottery and gaming industry, the Federal Government has projected to rake in over N100 billion from the sector yearly.
Executive Secretary of National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), Bello Maigari, disclosed this yesterday, during the presentation of sporting kits to the agency’s staff in Abuja.

According to the research firm, Research, and Markets, there are roughly 60 million Nigerians aged between 18 and 40, involved in active betting.

Despite a huge number of people engaged in betting, the Nigerian government-generated less than N1 billion from the gaming industry in 2019.

Bello, however, said the government was working to acquire a Central Monitoring System (CMS) for the gaming industry for maximum regulation and curbing of leakages.

He said: “As we speak, the industry is worth almost two trillion naira. The fact that the industry has gone this far is due to the level playing ground established by the government. Lottery and gaming businesses are flourishing across the nook and crannies of this country.

“For instance, Bet9ja, a betting platform is in the remotest part of the country. This is to tell you how wide and far lottery and gaming have grown in the country.

“But sadly, the return to government coffers has been poor. Fortunately in the last few years, the government has reawakened and we are currently working to establish a CMS that will see to the streamlining of revenue that will accrue to the government.

“We are looking at the possibility of getting about N100b annually from the industry by the time the CMS is established and managed for the good of all stakeholders.

He said the sporting kits donated to the staff were to ensure that workers are physically and mentally fit, adding that it would also aid their preparation for the Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA) held yearly.
