Gurus in the house, please I need some advice. I applied June 10th submitted with upfront medical and police certificate. Eligibility and background check still been reviewed.i have sent a web form to verify IRCC has received medical from Qlife and was replied that they received it and application is still in progress.i’ve recently sent a second web form to let them know school is resuming soon. Question: should I apply for GCMS note now since application has been about 10weeks or I should still exercise patience and expect a reply from the web form? Thanks for the expected reply

i also applied june 10th. No update yet.

Hello guys!

I applied for my Study permit on the 16th of June and didn't get any update on my application until I ordered for my GCMS notes 15 days ago.

I just received the notes now to discover that I FAILED the eligibility review done on the 17th of July, 2020.

Part of the reasons for the denial includes ; no travel history and inadequate funds, weak family ties.

I acknowledge that I do not have any travel history and was single when I did the application (married now though). I will defer my admission and use the next 6 months to get travel experience and increase my POF and then reapply again. Unfortunately, my course can only be started in the fall term, so I will be defering to Fall 2021.

I am pained but not discouraged. We will do this once again.

I am grateful to everyone for the knowledge I have gotten from this forum.

1. Admission letter
2. Resume
3. SOP.
4. Evidence of my personal business (CAC documents, particulars of directors bank account)
5. Personal Bank account. Sponsor had already paid in 14m into my account. Fees for the entire program was about 6m. I even thought the money was way too much.
6. Sponsors personal bank accounts of about 50m.
Sponsor is a business man. Submitted his own company’s incorporation documents and company account.
7. Sponsors letter of sponsorship explaining his finances and why he set aside that amount of money for my schooling (My business is actually a family run business and he is a partner so we tried to show how my degree will help move the business to a bigger playing field). I even added proposal to show how we plan to recoup the money spent on the degree in about 6 years.
8. Passport showing previous travel history.

mehn, I love your simple application.

see ehn! I am even happier than you that got the AIP cheesy grin cheesy grin

AIP update. Received AIP yesterday. From the letter I received I would feel that AIP is truly almost 70 to 80% guarantee of a positive result.

Nevertheless I still plan to defer my admission if I don’t get a complete approval before Sept 15. For me, my school will not give me a refund if I start the program and eventually do not get the study permit.

TIMELINE:
2nd application.
Date: June 27.
Biometrics already done.
Upfront medical updated to pass on the 7th of July.
AIP received on 18th of August.

Lucky mama smiley

I am so glad that you made it.

so so so so so so happy!

It’s a very straightforward process. If you have any friend or family member that’s a PR or citizen they can apply for you. Just give them the details of your application. It costs $5. There are also those who do it commercially but I want to believe it will cost significantly more than the official $5.

unfortunately i don't have anyone in canada to do that for me. have you applied for yours? how did you go about it?

Hello NwanyiOkpa,

It will be of good interest towards your application if you're able to get hold of your GCMS notes. This way, you will have an idea of the stage or activities going on with your application.

All the best

hello, please how do i go about that? and since no information have been updated on my profile is it still okay to get GCMS? frankrobbn1

They are currently going through your documents especially your sop to ascertain your eligibility to be issued a visa. Background check is applicable, what you are seeing is normal. No cause for alarm.

my own has been like that for about three months now.

This is a tricky question. Most of my friends in the oil and gas industry moved to Alberta after school. However, some people got a job in Newfoundland as well. I know that the Newfoundland economy is currently not doing well, so that would also have a negative effect on the job market. In my opinion, there are way more jobs in Alberta but that does not mean you cannot get a job in Newfoundland.
I hope this answers your question.

thanks a lot for your kind response

That's true, AIP is like recieving medical request. And in this case, AIP is even way better than receiving medical request because applicants now know for sure that they have passed the eligibility test once they receive AIP.
Yes, it is not guaranteed that Visa would be approved after receiving AIP. However, if you receive AIP, it means, you are eligible for a study permit. So, their is an extremely high and significant chance that your visa would be approved. like 95% chance.
Provided your situation did not change e.g. loosing your admission without providing a new admission letter, you can only be denied a visa after AIP, if you failed admissibility requirements such as criminality, medical grounds, submitting false information or documents, and if your sponsorship changed (e.g, death of a sponsor, if you loose your scholarship and you did not provide alternative source of sponsorship, etc). I believe that if your situation changes or if you failed any of the admissibility requirements, you will not be denied right away, VO usually give applicants the opportunity to clarify things.

The question is how often does Nigerian applicants situation changes or fail admissibility requirements? Probably 1 in 1000 chances.

Of course, it is left for applicants to decide how they feel about receiving AIP but I think their's no cause for Alarm.

You can see the link for a list of reasons your application can be denied after AIP (inadmissibility reasons)
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/inadmissibility/reasons.html

Goodluck everyone!

hello, please could you share more light about jobs in NL? preferably for an oil and gas engineer.

Please I have something bordering me. So I want to share here for your advice.
My TRV was declined on March 2020 on the reason of insufficient fund and personal asset.
So I contacted a lawyer who advised that I seek for judicial review. I did and the refusal was upturned and I was asked resubmit and updated documents.
Now I have got all other documents except the scholarship award update.
My problem is that my new start date is 7th September 2020. I am yet to submit the updated documents due to
1. Am yet to get the scholarship award update
2. Am afraid what will happen if I resubmit at the end of the month though am not sure when the updated award letter will be available because of the long process.
3. Should I go ahead and submit the available documents while i wait for the award letter?
4. I feel the start date is too close. The school had earlier said that they will not deferred my admission again because I have exhausted my deferment chances based on several Visa refusals upto 5 times.
Please what should I do now?

immigration lawyer? wow! how much did it cost to het a judicial review?

God is great! I am super excited to hear your scholarship was reinstated by USASK after your visa refusal. As for me, I am doing great and had to switch my immigration path to AIPP (Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program) as I was fortunate to receive a job offer from a Canadian employer. I have completed the entire phase of the program including receiving my Provincial Endorsement/Nomination Certificate from the Newfoundland Government and signing written contracts with my employer. The current COVID-19 global pandemic has dispruted so many plans/activities including pending applications with IRCC. Therefore, I'm earnestly hoping and waiting to receive my Permanent Resident approval soonest. While waiting for the process to be completed, I do come around here during my leisure period to contribute my quota and continue making a remarkable impact in the lives of others considering that I have first hand experience about the process.

Thanks once again for checking up on this thread, we have indeed shared tremendous knowledge and insightful experiences on this platform overtime. I hope to see you return here to continue doing what you know how to do best.

Stay safe (Attorney General).

As always, it will end in praise.

big congratulations on your new job and i am even more excited that you are in newfoundland. Did you school in memorial university? what are the job opportunities for oil and gas engineers in Newfoundland? could you gist me about NL?

I have noticed the excitement of people saying they will subscribe to showmax to see kiddrica exclusive.
I begin to wonder that, are Nigerians now so voyeuristic that they prefer to pay money to watch two adults possibly have sex under duvet than build sound healthy relationship with the opposite sex of their gender and have their own sex and enjoy it for what it is. Na wa o. And those same people will dress in suit and corporate clothes every work day and comeback to be staying awake to watch randy adults.

i don't think that you should bother yourself about how people spend their own money and time.
