HealthRe: Governor Zulum Suspends All Hospital Staff For Abandoning Patients In Borno by nzechu(m): 8:42pm On Jun 03, 2020

The thing is we have a system but its corrupted, those who are to do the QnA are looking for money, so when those who are to do these checks comes they are only there to collect their shares.
Look at the educational sector, the WAEC and NECO examiners that are supposed to prevent exam malpractices are there to negotiate their fees with various schools proprietors. Imagine if students who did not read failed every students will sit up.

Imagine if road safety dont collect bribes, all drivers will have the necessary gadgets. Same goes with the masses , imagine they refuse to collect money from politicians during electioneering, they will have the guts to protest and protect their votes.

It's a broken and corrupt system.
I understand, so what do we do. Should we sit and wait for God to help us get lucky someday

LiteratureRe: Olaokun Soyinka Writes Tonye Cole Over Airplane Seat Saga Of Wole Soyinka by nzechu(m): 12:20pm On Jun 27, 2019
9jaBloke:
I think this issue is being overflogged.
Let's analyse the players:

Prof. W.S;
He is over 80 years, so it is very possible that he took that seat by mistake
If it was deliberate and he prefered window seats for obvious reasons, he should have planned it better-Ask for the seat during booking, most airlines would be happy to indulge him.
He didn't see it as a big deal so he got up. There's absolutely nothing petty about WS.

Bobo Fine;
He is young and probably exuberant and may not have recognised or even known WS
He may have gone the extra mile to get a window seat
He is opinionated and non-conventional
We don't know his story (no one actually knows this guy's story so we can't keep judging him). He might have a condition, he might have been unstable, goodness knows!
He was operating within his rights so he actually commited no crime.

Tonye Cole:
Was okay to have tried to reason with Bobo Fine but should have stayed out of it after the incident.
Had no business uploading that picture.
Probably did it to trend and gain national popularity for his Guber ambition.

Nigeria:
There's already the underlying issue of lawlessness and lack of regard for orderliness.
There's also the issue of the elders' demand for respect and their sense of entitlement.
Also, many Nigerians will rather go sentimental and more often than not, the real issues are left unaddressed.

Me:
I totally totally adore Prof. Wole Soyinka, I've read almost everything he has published and his views and policies resonate with me. I will consider it a privilege for him to have my seat on a plane (deliberately or mistakenly).

That said, If i catch any unidentified elder on my seat, you will surely have to 'gbe bodi' but i will definitely demand it very politely.

It's not really about respect. I have maximum respect for senior citizens. I defer to ladies, children and the elderly.

I just think we have to restore order and enforce some basic social principles so that this country can have a good shot at working.
u nailed it 100 percent, end of discussion

CelebritiesRe: I Don’t Regret Saying Prostitutes Have No Dignity – Okon Lagos by nzechu(m): 3:04pm On May 26, 2019
grandstar:
Prostitution is different from kidnapping and stealing.

In prostitution, the parties involved are mutual beneficiaries in the transaction.

On the other hand. Stealing and kidnapping are strictly win lose transactions. Only one party gains while the other party loses out. It may even mean death.

Most importantly, prostitution is like a business though an immoral one.

There are advocates for instance of drugs legalisation for instance. Their argument is that making drugs illegal is simply handling control of the drug trade to criminals. The primary reason drugs are very expensive is that it's illegal. A kilo of cocaine goes for $1,000 in Bolivia but will hit $35,000 a kilo on American streets.

Legalise drugs and government can tax it heavily and drive the drug dealers out of business. Next, the tax revenues earned can be used to treat drug addicts. Presently , the drug wat is consuming resources by way of policing cost and putting hundreds of thousands of dealers behind bars. I'm talking from the American view.
I understand what you are saying but for argument sake, d people involved in kidnapping also take it as a business, they make money by releasing captives, win win situation for d the relatives and the kidnappers.

For argument sake if your wife mentioned to u that she would like to start prostitution as a business would u invest in it for her, that is get her all the clothing's required of such 'business'

Actually am trying to drive d point DT no matter how u wud want to see it as a transaction, it shouldn't be, it's a vice just like the other vices

CelebritiesRe: I Don’t Regret Saying Prostitutes Have No Dignity – Okon Lagos by nzechu(m):
grandstar:
It is one thing to say prostitution is not dignifying profession and it's another thing to say they have no dignity. There is no way that will come out right.

I have never walked a mile in their shoes. I don't know where they are coming from.

A vast majority of prostitutes were coerced into it. They deserve pity. Many are sex slaves. They hate their existence more than Okon would ever imagine. Some are HIV positive. Others are dead from AIDS. Many carry all types of STD's. And many are in sexual, mental and physical bondage.

Many demand that the prostitutes change. Change is never easy for anyone especially if you've been involved in it so early in life and don't forget they were coerced. For others, prostitutes were the role models they had when growing up and see nothing wrong in the profession

Okon should realise that those who advocate for the legalisation of prostitution are only being pragmatic rather than living in denial.

In an immoral world that Okon said we live, [/people will always patronise prostitutes. It is better then to legalise it so it can be regulated. Monthly medical checkups on the ladies will bar those suffering from HIV and compel those suffering from any STD to get treated. It will also check the use of underaged girls. It will reduce a lot of the criminality associated with the industry. To your bolded statement, is it also safe to say DT since people would also kidnap, steal, and kill, these vices should also be regulated

I wish all prostitutes will change but I know this won't be the case.
is it safe to say DT since people would also engage in killing, kidnapping and stealing, these vices should Also be regulated
