Okay, so Debo and OJ, I have to take you to the woodshed on this one. It took me until now to know whattheheck OJ was talking about here: I know y'all think you're perfect, but I am here to tell you both that the "amin" should be "ami." Just try saying it. Phonetically, it doesn't sound right. a-mi-n? aa-mi is what it sounds like to me o. How's my Yoruba now? Huh? I say, HOW'D YOU LIKE ME NOW? [/quote]Katsumoto:Yeye! Sagamite:Wetin to see? Why you quote me or na mistake ![]() PointB:OK. No problem. But believe what Jarus said and you can ask other moderators too, none of us can see the result till it is over. So we don't know the direction of the voting or who is voting for who, our reaction are only based on what we read on this thread. Have Fun guys! May the best man win. ![]() |
PointB:The mods are not against any of the candidate or blaming one particular ethnic group. We are only against the calls from some posters here asking for people to vote on ethnics line. Some are even asking for a merger. This is against our aim. We want any of the candidate to be elected not base on his ethnicity but simply because he is found to be the most objective, matured, intelligent and articulate poster. Now, don't pretend you didn't see some of those calls and campaigns to vote on ethnic line. We mods are only doing our duty calling people to order and stopping a wrong trend. So how have we gone wrong or disappointed you doing this? |
I absolutely have no problem with any of the candidates winning but let's not vote on sentiments, let's be objective. Also if I may ask, can those who nominated and campaigning for a candidate copy & post some of the posts of their candidate they consider brilliant? This will help us shift focus from sentiments and be more objective. Thanks. |
I have refrained myself from commenting on this thread, even refrained myself from nominating a poster since it turned 'tribal'. Cos i wouldn't want someone to judge my nomination/support on silly sentiments such as ethnic alignment. I have thought that for once this year with all the rules in place we will have the most objective, matured, intelligent and articulate poster emerged as the best poster in this section. But sadly the ethnocentric sentiment is making a mess of the process. It is a shame reading the reasons some of us expressed here for choosing the candidate you voted for. One thing is sure, we have a long way to go in Nigeria if the educated ones cannot see beyond ethnic and political affiliations in making good & informed decision. Nigeria will keep voting for clueless and bad leaders for silly sentiments. Well I guess we may just have the political poster of the year and not the best political poster of the year at the end of the day. Have fun guys! |

(dem know demselves)
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajiun. Very sad. He was quite devout too. Did his prayers all the time; I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to fast this past August when he was probably already on his way. . . . Oh dear. I just dug up a Prayer Book he gave me too. His wife is already back at work. What else to do? America is not Africa; Gotta take care of 4 children and his nephew they were raising. I am convinced there is a strong case for wrongful death - his employers' doctors put him on wrong meds and everything. . . Will recommend a couple of good med malpractice/workers comp lawyers to the wife. It won't bring him back, but we can't be victims forever. So long, brother Camara.
