What stops the CPC from issuing a statement condeming the killing of corp members?
What stops the CPC from seriously campaigning using their influence in the North to protect these innocent people?
Why the fck do they trivialise the deaths of these very brave Nigerians?

THEY SHOULD GET OUT JOR!

angry angry angry angry
I think they issued a statement and gave a speech condemning the violence and the  killings.

Odunnu:
Now it falls into a perfectly made puzzle!
I kept wondering why a highly intelligent 'open minded' man like Jarus can be so into CPC with the fervour he had.
Buhari = Muslim
Bakare = Kwara
Jarus= Kwarain Muslim!
He is also as tribalistic as those he's pointing fingers at.
As for Aisha2, she 'sat on the fence' till the owner took it back. She was just a blind follower of Buhari. She had her mind on Ribadu.
Stop embarrassing yourself, you are better than this odunnu.

Bakare is not from Kwara. He is from Abeokuta in Ogun State.

Dr. Tunde Bakare was born in Abeokuta, Ogun State of Nigeria on November 11th 1954. He had his Primary education at the All Saints Primary School, Kemta, Abeokuta and his secondary education at the Lisabi Grammar School in the same city after which he studied law at the University of Lagos between 1977 and 1980.

@ Gbawe, I am highly disappointed in you. You can no longer see things beyond politics! I have expressed a genuine concern for a good nairalander and you have interpreted it upside down. This attitude of seeing people who do not share your view as enemies is part of what is responsible for the crisis today. You could have as well made your point without politicizing the whole thing. This is not a do or die affair. It doesn't matter who I support. It is better for you to come out of that box and learn to respect others with different opinions. Aisha2 did not make any comment hours before and during the election. It is enough to make one concerned. Usually, on the election day she will give us updates right from the polling booth with her phone. She worked hard on nairaland and that day of the election would have been one of her most active days on ground and on the forum. It shows that her absence is not just about Buhari's loss.  I expect also that Jarus will have a way of reaching her and that is why I drew his attention to it. I expect him to assure us that she is ok and that is all we need. So I do not see what is wrong in being concerned about another Nigerian simply because she has a different view. Ask yourself if you would have posted the same thing if a BB supporter started this thread. After that, go and think about what you have written in your post.
I understand your concern and it is a noble one. Actually I don't think Aisha2 absence has to do with Buhari loss. She actually signed in 2 days ago, just that she didn't make any post. But unfortunately some peep hijacked the thread to attack the persons of Jarus and Aisha2 and if someone doesn't read from the start it does look like the thread was opened for that purpose.

And may I submit that those of you attacking Jarus, Aisha2 and CPC supporters are not different from those fanatics from the North. cool

You made it look like what you quoted is new or strange. It is not just now that an average Norther Muslim is bias against Christians, and 1000 out of 1000 times will vote a Muslim over Christian. Likewise there are Southerners who will not touch anything form North if they have a choice from the South. Bring the dumbest person from the South against the Smartest Nigerian from the North, they will still vote for the dumbest Southern candidate.

I asked some people (educated) from the South why they voted GEJ/PDP and I was told that even though they believe Buhari will deal with the issue of corruption and probably perform better than GEJ, they voted GEJ because he is from the South. Now tell me, what is the difference between those people and the Almajiris from the North who will not vote for someone simply because he is a Christian?

And you already sounding like all the 12million people that supported/voted for Buhari should be executed. I dont know where your learned your politics. BTW, Jarus is a Yoruba man from Offa in Kwara State and Aisha2 is a Christian.
You are one of the few people I respect on this forum. I didn't expect this from you.

Politics is not a do or die affair now, some people must contests and everybody cannot follow a single candidate. Also there will always be another election.

GEJ has won, yes the violent is evil and uncalled for, but I have not seen one person who supported Buhari on this forum and is also in support of the violence.
Hehe grin Cannot blame him; self-interest is natural.

@Sefago: Why are you so pessimistic about the SWs future prospects? roughly 10% of Nigeria's oil comes from Ondo. If we split, then Lagos controls its own port revenue. We contribute far more to VAT than we get out. The net change in money might actually not be too negative.

Furthermore, the oil reserves offshore our coast are substantial. As well as the 43 billion barrels of oil sands in the Lagos-Ogun-Ondo-Edo axis. Investment can and will come.

Also, what is wrong with Ondo controlling the lion's share of the resources produced from it in a SW nation? That is perfectly fine by me. Heck, not only should every state largely control what it produces, I'd go so far as to say every LGA should as well. If the Ilajes turn their LGAs into Riyadh with their oil wealth, that is perfectly fine by me; it still benefits Yorubaland as a whole. They'll need talent and labor to build their city. So long as they don't discriminate against me for being not Ilaje, then what is the problem?

Ondo should control whatever oil it produces, Lagos should control its ports, Ogun should get extract income from its factories, etc, etc. I envision a Yoruba Federation, not some heavy-handed, centralist Yoruba government. We cannot leave Nigeria only to replicate the mistakes made there.
Whao! so we have to break it down to LGAs. Dont know how feasible that will be. Not also sure how it will work, that will only aid urbanization of some LGAs I think.

And what happens to your Ekiti, Oshun and Oyo States? send them back to farm? Some mechanized farming I guess  cheesy

So you are in favor of Tribalism?
NO. Am in favor of regional/resource control as it was in the days of Awo, Zik and Bello, let each region develop at its pace while we also be our brother's keeper.

SEFAGO:
The issue though is that if Nigeria splits into several pieces it would not affect foreign investment in the long run per se. Its just that some people will get FDI way more than others. The west and now the east are only interested in Nigeria for raw materials, and that is why the western media has been referring to this election as "free and fair." They are quite happy at the outcome because oil will flow quite well and MEND will be getting amnesty every single second from their brother in power. This alone tells you that FDI would flow more into any were there is oil. Also Oyibo people will support anything that would push their interest.

Breaking up Nigeria will not really have much of an impact in terms of economics- just that several regions would go into extreme poverty (or maybe this mighty be an impetus for them to develop, we dont know for sure and its all an academic perspective), while would be doing quite great. The issue here is that a lot of the money made in such new countries might not trickle down to the masses in general but thats up for debate. I would have to agree though, after some thought and with significant reluctance, that "maybe splitting up might have some merits" for other people in general. It could considerably improve the lifestyle of the people in the SS, while drastically for a while affecting the lifestyle of SE and SW for a while . The SE claims that they are industrious is quite a myth (Okirika is not industry) and they would have to find a way of booming their economy. The SW claims to having large mineral deposits is null if foreigners do not invest in it. I dont think SW is at the stage of technical know how, to be capable of drilling oil or mining minerals. Western mining companies might be hesitant about investing in places without stable political environments. Also as usual sub-ethnic sentiments might come into play. The people of Ondo might start claiming that they want more share of the fiscal budget based on the fact that they produce the oil.

Personally, I like Nigeria as it is "big and unstable" than split into tiny pieces were I might have to apply for a "visa" to go to my more wealthy neighbors. Also immigration is going to occur assuming one country becomes more wealthy than the other.
I agree with your post especially the bold. It is part of the issues Sanusi raised in his speech that I quoted. Make SS a country and it will no longer be North vs SS vs SE vs SW, but  Edo vs Itsekiri vs Urobo vs ijaw etc
